Then I called because they do have "delivery" service, and they should bring the ashes complementary when they are around the area picking up other dogs. He told me that it would be $75. I thought that price was ridiculously high but I agreed. He told me to call the next day at 9:00 AM. At this point I want to leave one star. I called next day 9:00 AM, he said the guy that makes the deliveries was picking up two dogs so I had to call later. Called later, he said call me in the morning. Figure it up, my pain, crying, calling this moron every day and my dog? Where's my dog? This morning to add insult to the situation, the man, owner, answering service, cashier, mortician and scammer told me the service would be $175 because of the gas. I said "the gas?" And he said that the gas prices raised incredibly overnight. He really thought I am an idiot. Please don't do business with them. They don't care about our dogs. They only care about MONEY. She kept showing up, coming to me and begging to be petted. Looking back, I realize she was choosing me. And I was lucky enough to be her person for the next 20 years. On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, I knew I was losing MJ. She had stopped drinking water and had become too weak to remain standing. I had spent the day with that terrible feeling that the moment I had dreaded was coming. I felt heartbroken, helpless, and overwhelmed, but I also knew that after 20 years of loving her, I could not allow her to suffer. I had read so many wonderful reviews about Gentle Pet Crossing and the ability to say goodbye peacefully at home, so at approximately 2:00 that afternoon, I reached out. They responded almost immediately and somehow accommodated my request that very same day. Dr. Brittany Dash was confirmed to arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 that evening. From the moment Dr. Dash arrived, there was such a sense of calm and compassion about her. MJ was lying on my bed, incredibly weak and barely responsive. Dr. Dash never rushed anything. She was gentle with MJ, quietly petted her, spoke with kindness, and was equally compassionate toward me. In the place where MJ had always felt safe and loved--her own home, on my bed--she peacefully closed her little eyes. It was devastating, but it was also incredibly gentle. There was no frightening trip to a veterinary office, no unfamiliar surroundings, and no additional stress for MJ. Her last moments were at home, surrounded by love, and Dr. Dash treated her with such tenderness and dignity. Dr. Dash then took MJ with her, and the thoughtfulness from Gentle Pet Crossing did not end when she walked out the door. The following day, they contacted me again to express their condolences and even asked for MJ's veterinarian's information so they could notify them of her passing. I later received a beautiful condolence card from Gentle Pet Crossing and Dr. Dash. When MJ's ashes were ready, they contacted me with compassionate, accommodating options for picking them up and were completely understanding about waiting until I was ready. Every single detail was handled with care. Losing an animal who has shared 20 years of your life leaves a space that is difficult to describe. I will always wish that day never had to come, but I will also always be grateful that when it did, MJ was able to leave this life peacefully, in her home, with dignity and love. Dr. Brittany Dash, thank you for the gentleness you showed my little girl and for the kindness you showed me when I was heartbroken.
