I keep meaning to let my local pet owner friends know of a wonderful resource I found. I used Lap of Love for home end of life service for my Oscar but for his final arrangements, I chose Aquamation or water cremation ..instead of traditional cremation which they have also. Monarch Pet Memorial Services is the only place that does it at this time here in South Florida. You can go to their website to learn more about Aquamation. It is quiet, gentle, low impact-green (enviro-friendly) without flames like traditional cremation. I am very glad I chose Monarch and they do partner with Lap of Love. I knew my baby was in good hands. The customer service was superb and they focus on treating your pet like family, with respect and integrity. They were easy to reach on the phone when I had questions. I then chose Monarch again for my forever foster Santo and they picked him up at my vet. I will always be using Monarch. Stay away from this place. It is a money making business and nothing else matters. Your fur baby is just another corpse they can squeeze into their death selling business. You enter their lobby which looks like a fast-food pick up place with bodies packaged up and ready for pick up. Who came up with this idea? Someone who does not understand what the feeling of deep sorrow and grief means. My husband and I brought our fur baby personally to them and asked a number of times to return to us all her belongings ie the little coffin and the zipped cover which her body was wrapped in. We put her name on both to make sure they get returned to us. We were assured that everything will be returned and they would keep us informed throughout the process. Nobody kept us informed. Only after my husband called them, they informed us that she was being "processed"! For a week no other info. We called again "ah yes, you can pick her up". We came to pick her up and were faced with yet another disappointment - they just threw away the zip cover. The manager said she was sorry but they could not do anything. Nobody told them that we wanted the cover! Really!? I requested she reviews her security camera which would confirm how many times we repeated our wishes. The cover was gone but they offered a memorabilia instead. How awefully nice of you. The manager was trying in a typical materialistic, despicable way replace something priceless with cheap memorabilia they sell. At this point I don't even know if our fur baby is in the urn. Having seen the type of personnel they have in this place, them just throwing away the previous cover in spite of our explicit request to get it back and having spoken to the manager of this fast-food place with $$ signs in her eyes, I doubt the quality of the services they provide. You have ZERO guarantee that you get YOUR baby back. It is very sad that people make money off of death like this. read more

I used Codapet for my final care of my sweet boy, Tank. Their vet, Dr. Girstin, was extremely compassionate and caring when she came to my home, and I left it in her hands to take care of the cremation of my beloved pit. Tank's remains were ready within a couple of weeks, and when I went to pick up the urn and everything, it was presented so beautifully, that I felt compelled to let everyone who needs info about Monarch Pet Memorial know how excellent their care of my Tank's remains were. The bag it all came in was tied with a thin black ribbon with paw prints on it. Open the bag, and there was this beautiful simple wooden urn with my dog's paw print burned into the wood, with Tank's name above the paw. They gave me a certificate, plus a cast of his paw in a round cast, like you do for children's hands. Also a beautiful glass cylinder with some of Tank's fur. Also, a certificate of the private cremation, a bookmark and an another paw print in ink on a card. This whole package was very comforting to me. Our pet was sent to Monarch Pet Memorial Services by our vet from Lap of Love. Clearly, this was a very sad time for us, but I was comforted by the nice job they did. I picked up our dog's ashes at their location in Boynton Beach. Inside the paper shopping bag, there was the wooden box with the ashes, on which they inscribed our dog's name and her paw-print. They also included her pawprint on paper, a clay pawprint, and a small bottle with a clipping of her fur. It was beautifully done. I didn't deal with Monarch other than to pick up the ashes, as my vet arranged everything for us, but I am so pleased with the beautiful momentos they provided during a time of sorrow. read more

In general I was very happy with Monarch. When our beloved dog passed away they provided exactly what we were looking for when it came to cremation and memorialization. A beautiful box with his name and ashes, paw print and small glass container with his hair. It was perfect. My only problem with recommending was that when we both dropped or dog off and picked up his ashes, there was a person in what looked like hazmat gear washing stainless steel containers with stains in the parking lot where we parked that looked like they were part of the cremation process. Maybe it's just me, but seeing this 8' from where I parked was a huge turnoff. I get that this is probably a needed part of the process but doing it in view of clients, or anyone driving down federal highway is an awful idea and conjures up terrible images. read more

They were amazingly sweet. This process is gentle and not as awful as imagining your pet in a furnace. You get a beautiful box with a paw print and fur in a jar and a paw print mold and it's all personalized remains for much less than fire cremation. It's a wonderful alternative. My vet handled everything with Monarch, all I was left to do was pick up my angels remains. I honestly believe my baby was treated with respect and dignity while he was in their care. We recently had to put our beloved cockapoo, Jovi, to his final resting place. Having to do this two years earlier with his brother, Jeter, we knew exactly who we wanted to handle this for us. Al and his team at Monarch are the best in the business. Thru their association with Lap of Love and the extremely professional vets that came to our house, they made this a less painful experience than it already was. Monarch escorted Jovi to their business and then put his ashes in a beautiful wood box engraved with his name. They also had a lock of his hair in a small glass holder, paw print in a ceramic mold and a digital copy. We now have him next to his brother, who had the same treatment from Monarch. Both came with beautiful cards also. Our family cannot thank everyone involved in this process. We tell all of our friends and relatives who have pets that using Monarch for this painful time is the only way to go.
