Based solely on Yelp reviews, I went online and made an appointment for a less than a week out (big bonus for me as I don't like to plan more than a week out) and she accepted our date. Cool I book this online and receive txt reminders but can I turn that off? Got a little annoying. Find the place is a trick. As the site reads, it's around the corner and if you hit house, you've gone a step too far. Once in, I felt at home. When you find a barber who actually knows what they're doing, you stick with them. Now she's set up at Sola on Town Center Drive, and the space looks great. The Sola studios have a clean, modern feel and Chase has made the place her own. It's a pretty swanky little setup compared to the usual barbershop vibe. What keeps me coming back, though, isn't just the location. Chase is simply very good at what she does. More importantly, she's honest. If you walk in with a haircut idea that's not going to work with your hair, your head shape, or your general reality, she'll tell you. And that's a good thing. A lot of barbers will just nod, cut whatever you ask for, and send you on your way looking... questionable. Chase actually cares about how the cut will look once you walk out the door and try to live with it. Another thing I appreciate: she actually listens. Unlike many barbers these days who seem to default to the same low-tapered fade on every single head that sits in the chair, Chase takes a minute to understand what you want and what works with your hair. Not every guy needs the same Instagram haircut, and she understands that. She also understands hair in a way that goes beyond basic barbering. Texture, thickness, how it will fall once it grows out, how different cuts behave after a few weeks. That kind of experience makes a big difference. In fact, I liked her work enough that I brought my daughters to see her as well. She handled their hair beautifully, which says a lot because kids' hair can be completely different from adult men's cuts. She knew exactly how to work with their hair type and the results looked great. They loved their cuts. Going to Chase is also just a good time. I come for the haircut, sure, but the conversation is half the experience. Somehow we end up covering everything from Italian culture to surprisingly deep dives into James Bond trivia. Chase has an unexpected amount of knowledge about both. A good barber gives you a clean haircut. A great barber gives you a haircut that still looks good weeks later, tells you the truth about what works, and makes the time in the chair enjoyable. That's Chase.
