honestly, i was very nervous coming here. i never really go to different salons because i take such pride in my hair like it's my baby. plus i fell asleep at my last haircut and i think she was talking to me while i was snoring lol. Yesterday i went here, it was a new salon to me. I take so long going back to the beauty school bc the last couple times were super rocky for me. I have a lot of anxiety & that often times inhibits me from doing what i need. Their salon is in a suite at Sola Salon. I've heard of these boutique salons, and I've wanted to try one, but i thought i wouldn't be able to afford it. Well the beauty school i went to charges dam near salon prices. So once they started treating me poorly, i decided it was time to go. I looked on Yelp and they have this really cool feature where you could request a consultation and send pics. It sent out my project to three salons / three people on yelp, and they all replied. One just replied with their hours, another replied, asking a lot of questions, and they here at David Henry replied. They were super personable and quick. I just got a really good vibe and I was able to book my appointment, & come in for my cut & color within two days. I'm so happy I did that! I'm so happy I found this place and now I have a go to place that I can go to comfortably, & feel accepted & welcome. Also added bonus! His wife does nails, so if I were to bring like my mom, or a friend or somebody who wants to do their nails, it would be really cool. You know it's it's really private, it's not like a whole salon full of people. The whole concept is really cool to me. Inspiring kind of.. like those one table restaurants in Europe. i wonder if those will ever take off here. Certainly if i could cook professionally, or do hair professionally. This would be the route i would take for my career. I'm here for it! I'm so in love with my new hair and I'm happy to grow it out again. Also, i opted not to bleach it this time, so the highlights from my last bleach make it look super pretty. Not really sure if i want to continue bleaching my hair. I only did it once a year but still feels unnecessarily damaging. I really like that Dayvid got to know my hair and had really good advice for me. read more

I really didn't want to write a review because I want to gate keep this place haha. I have wavy hair but my curl pattern wasn't right due to all the chemical straightening I would do. I wanted to start wearing my hair wavy but wanted a perm to help my curl pattern. I searched/called around and no stylist does perms anymore. Then I stumbled upon Dayvid Henry Salon. My mom was in need of a new haircut. I stumbled across this on my phone. I'm glad I found this salon. Dayvid took care of my mom's hair and it came out great! She also had her hair colored, he picked out the color and it came out great, covered all the grey hair. He understood what hairstyle she's wanted just by looking at it. I have been going to Dayvid for approximately six months. He did a great job the first time. This appears to be the exception to the rule. During my last appointment, I was extremely disappointed with both the perm and cut. The curl was not tight at all and he didn't perm the first inch of my hair. Additionally, there are sections that aren't even curled. It honestly doesn't even look like I got a perm. I was concerned when he started applying the perm solution to my hair prior to the rollers being in! I've never seen that done (I've been getting perms for about 35 years). In addition to the perm, my cut was awful. The right side is shorter than the left by a good inch and there are four sections in the back that are a solid four inches shorter than everywhere else and the hair at the top of my head is only THREE inches in length. Watching him cut my hair was like watching Edward Scissorhands. It freaked me out how fast and brash he cut away. I have worked very hard to grow my hair out and my length is now gone. Unfortunately, the combination of poor perming and a really bad cut has left my hair with no body. I look like I have helmet head. The issues are so noticeable that it was brought to my attention by my coworkers. To make matters worse, when I reached out to Dayvid, he responded with "are you kidding me? Maybe your coworkers should find you a new hairdresser." Wow. I was not rude and was expecting him to offer to have time come back in to correct it. I can't believe a man of his age would treat a grown woman like this. But since he set the tone, I would like to add that I'm almost positive he had been drinking, as he smelled of alcohol. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but his service reflected my suspicions. Also, I only received a partial refund and he never apologized for the way he treated me or even acknowledged my concerns. read more

I went and did something I normally hate doing.. I got a haircut. I am very critical and picky with stylists because I've had a lot of bad experiences. It's become my expectation that I'll just have to let it grow out a bit every time I leave a salon. Today was a very pleasant surprise. I had an appointment with Raymond at 5pm. He was ready for me when I got there. After a brief consultation, (he remembered from our phone conversation that I had long hair, wanted a trim and more layers, and needed an undercut redone) we were shampooing and conditioning (with something that smelled wonderful) and I was very comfortable. I watched in the mirror as he did the undercut first, and he asked a few important questions about how short I wanted it, and how much I wanted it to show. Then onto the trim, then the layers. He asked for my preference at crucial moments, even asked my employer's view of undercuts, so that he could give me exactly what I wanted, without getting me into trouble at work. He blew it dry with so much care that we didn't even need the irons afterwards. I am very happy with the result, and I think I've found my new stylist. All of this only took 45 minutes, or less, and yet we had a great string of conversations and I never felt like I was being rushed through. Thanks Raymond and Dayvid Henry Salon! read more

I absolutely love this Salon. I go here for my hair and Dayvid is literally the best at my color. A lot of people have a hard time with blonde on my hair and he does a great job to make sure it is not brassy. He does my cuts, perms, and any colors I need. He's like magic. I also go to Isha for nails in the same salon and let me tell you she is also gifted. She can do anything and any design. Great quality of nails they never break or feel weak no matter how long they are. They are both amazing and I'd HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for any services they offer. read more

Got my haircut by Dayvid Henry and he did an awesome job! He was super friendly, and managed to get me in at a more convenient time after sleeping in and missing my appointment, with no problem. I went there 2 times and never again will I go there again. 1st time I went with Crystal my 6yr old daughter could have done a better job than her. I went to get a color and weave, I came out looking like they just poured bleach on top of my head, and was chared $85.00 she is very quick but sloppy. 2nd time I went I asked for someone else, I was taken care of by Gloria who bad mouthed Crystal she said she would fix my hair, ya fixed it to where I came out looking like a cow chewed my hair off. On top of the fact I wanted light highlights and came out with orange bozo hair, and was charge $140.00 I paid but will NEVER go back there again. They charge way tooo much for crapy job they do. read more
