Hidden Gem First off Collin is hands down one of the most gracious owners I've ever met. Secondly, I love how this is a listening only venue meaning no talking. I'm a regular and try to come at least a few times a quarter. Last night I saw the ACC faulty play. Talk about a mind blowing experience. All of them (special shout out to Dr J and JWise) are highly skilled in their craft. Whether you are new to jazz or a seasoned veteran you'll be sure to have a pleasant experience at Monk's. Amazing jazz club! We had such a fun time and the atmosphere is really intimate there's not a bad place to sit in the house and you can BYOB. The performers and sound was awesome!! Only complaint was that the bar stool seating was not super comfy. read more

As someone who with auditory sensitivities who loves music, I love this place's acoustics and (generally) quiet and respectful listening policies. On the most recent visit, I learned you can bring your own food. (I knew about BYOB.) There was some payment issue, but they kindly helped me pay up front after arriving, so my friend and I were able to sit at a table and comfortably enjoy an awesome show by the JaRon Marshall Trio. Monks kinda helped us salvage an evening gone awry. Turned into a great night. Side note: Love that the chairs allow me to sit back and observe or sit forward and bop to the beats. It's also nice to see other boppers and tappers across the room. People appreciate feel the music in different ways, even in silence. ^__^ read more

I was invited by a friend to join her table to listen to our friend Sarah Sharp do a live stream at this very cool listening room! It was the first time I'd ever been to Monks and I look forward to going back again. The venue is cozy and intimate with great acoustics. It is BYOB but they have cups and a wine opener. They sell sparkling and still water bottles. Best to arrive early if you want to park in their small lot vs. on the street. read more

Great little spot to hear good jazz music. Owner always welcomes you and also lets you know it's a taping room so best to be quiet. They let you BYOB and offer cups if you need some. The only downside is that some of the chairs are so uncomfortable- the stools used to be so we got a table this time- glad to see the stools got replaced.. look forward to when all the seats make one want to stay all night. 5 star music 3 star comfort read more

What a cute little spot for a casual night. I attended a comedy show and it was a great experience. The venue is basically a converted garage. It was dark and intimate. The event was BYOB and I brought in a bottle of wine no issues. The venue had complimentary water and drinks, how thoughtful is that! Cool, intimate place located in an old brick building with nice acoustics! You can purchase your tickets on line and pick your seating in advance. The restrooms are across the parking area as you exit the building. (regular restrooms, not port o potties) Being BYO, we were able to share some of our nice wines with friends and enjoy Jeff Lofton Quartet. When I say enjoy...I mean it! There were no annoying talkers, cell phone raising video takers or selfie makers! It was a room of people enjoying music. Afterwards, we were able to visit and hang out a bit.
