Found an event on FEVER for a Jazz Room show and grabbed a ticket. You can def tell this place has history and the inside is quite quaint. Seating for the event was tight, made me wonder what the capacity code is as even I, under 5'5, had little leg room. Think airplane rows, very tight. Felt bad for taller peeps. The band was great, all had solos throughout the performance and gave their own version of each song. You could feel the energy in the room and I wish the show was longer than and hour. Didn't partake in any drinks, so I can't speak to the bar service. read more

I understand why some say Antone's is the best nightlife in town! It was actually just my speed ~ good music vibes and chill light dancing among some while I did my signature chair dancing. I saw some great music Saturday night and was lucky to get a chair up close. The seating did fill up and the standing room area was pretty full, so keep that in mind for show times. I was also very lucky to grab their last 5mg delta-9 Tejas Tonic ($12) and a Topo Chico ($4). Cheers to Austin carrying happy drinks without the alcohol. It was perfect but I wish they had more in stock, we were ready to sip on that sizzurp. Great staff at the bar though! They do have a cover but keep an eye out for deals! We got bogo tix for $25 through ticketmaster. Overall great time at Antone's! I had so much fun and it is within walking distance of so much so great place to see a show. read more

Came here for a jazz concert. What a wonderful time with live music and a good crowd. I truly enjoyed the mix of beautiful sounds of the instruments and the singer was fenomenal. Getting to downtown on that area is just getting harder with construction and difficulty to find good available parking. The homeless are scattered in that area as well. However, thankfully the show was early in the day and the place made it to be enjoyable at least inside you transfer to the world of music. I didn't stay long to have experience any service, but I did see staff being attentive and ready to clean up tables. The place looks clean and well kept. The darker atmosphere makes it very relaxing and intimate. read more

(Sept. 21, 2025) DT Austin is known for its music scene with a wide variety of venues. How to choose the right one? So, I decided to consult all of my fellow music lovers in LA before my trip and they all pointed here. I checked the calendar online and found that 'Soul Man Sam' was playing while my friend Rose & I were there. Found some videos on YouTube and loved his style. Antone's has been at this location for 50 years now and the minute you step inside you can feel & see the nostalgia all around you. The entire staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a huge dance area with tables scattered around to sit while listening to the bands. Our bartenders were full of compliments and managed to mix our cocktails to perfection. As the night progressed, Soul Man Sam and his band rocked the house. There was no hesitation to get on the dance floor and start grooving. I really enjoyed dancing with his wife and the other music lovers. A great time to be had here. I highly recommend making this music joint part of your visit or if you live near by, you must stop by! read more

If you like the Blues and a casual atmosphere, this is where you want to be. It is an iconic venue for live music in the Downtown Austin area. My friend, Te-see, bought tickets in advance based on a recommendation from someone who highly recommended Antone's. I wished I lived in Austin so I could be a regular. There were two bartenders on duty, they were chatty, friendly and the drinks were good and strong. No weak or watered-down pours here! There are vintage posters that highlight previous FAMOUS performers who headlined at this club that was established 50 years ago. The history of musicians was IMPRESSIVE. The layout of the venue has a few barstools along the wall and a few tables close to stage. The center area is standing room and a dance floor. There is certainly room for additional seating, I don't know why they don't add more pub tables and chairs there's enough room by the bar area that won't take away from the dance floor. My first visit to Antone's was to see my friends perform (The English Beat) on 7/1/25 to a sold out crowd. Local DJ, Tropicana Joe opened up spinning his glorious vinyl. Of course The Beat were spot on as always (though there was a brief technical issue that was corrected straight away). This legendary venue is the epitome of a rock 'n roll joint. Amazing sound system. Plenty of floor space. Shows are typically GA with very limited seating scattered around the club's perimeter. Drinks are reasonably priced and staff are pretty rad. The entry lines move quickly and efficiently. Clean bathrooms, always a plus. read more

Antone's has been on my music venue bucket list for such a long time! I have purchased tickets to shows several times but they always got moved to Emo's. Luckily I got to experience one of my favorite Nashville bands at their intimate setting. Some of the band members were kind enough to stay after the show and sign albums! The bar area has a cool atmosphere with globe lights & small seating areas. Past the bar, you will find tables with view of the stage (though as the crowd grows the view will diminish). The tables are not reserved so I recommend getting to the show at least 30 minutes before the show. The there are also some chairs along the wall if you don't want to stand but the tables are all taken. The bartender was very friendly and the line moved quickly. There are free water stations at the bar which is greatly appreciated! Overall, I loved the laidback vibes and the sound system was very good. The cooling fans were loud for the acoustic part of the show though. The only real downside is the lack of parking and that the show sometimes gets relocated which makes planning difficult. I definitely think Antone's is a great music venue that is popular with both locals & tourists. Don't forget to stop in at Big Henry's vinyl for a record or poster. Great tip - they frequently offer 2 for 1 specials! read more

I flew in from Mississippi just for the Texas Headhunters show at Antone's, and it was absolutely worth every mile. The energy in the room was unreal -- pure Texas blues, grit, and soul that you could feel in your chest. The sound was dialed in perfectly, loud but clean, and the band fed off the crowd all night. The staff at Antone's made the experience even better. Friendly at the door, quick at the bar, and the whole venue has that authentic Austin music vibe -- the kind you can't fake. Yesterday (June 18), I experienced one of the worst concert-going experiences I have ever had at your venue. Upon arrival, I voluntarily had my phone locked in a pouch because I understood this was a no-phone event and wanted to comply with the venue's policy. During the show, however, a manager approached me multiple times accusing me of having my phone out. Each time, I told him no and that my phone was secured in the locked pouch. After several interruptions, it became clear that the person next to me, (that he assumed I was with)--not me--was the individual using a phone. I understand the need to enforce venue policies, but repeatedly confronting the wrong person disrupted my experience and likely affected the experience of those around me as well. After the first couple of interactions, it should have been apparent that I was not the person violating the policy. What made the situation even more upsetting was what happened afterward. I attempted to address the issue with other staff members,a young lady who claimed she was also a manager, who then directed this manager back to me. During that interaction, I was called a "motherfucker" by this manager and was made to feel as though my concerns were being dismissed or treated as fabricated. When I questioned why he continued to approach me after I had already demonstrated that my phone was locked away, his response was that sometimes "people lie." I found this comment disrespectful and inappropriate, especially given that I had complied with the venue's policy from the start and had already shown proof that I was not violating it. When I asked for the manager's name so that I could properly report the incident, he refused to provide it. The best description I can provide is that he was a white male wearing a black hat backwards with glasses and gauges in his ears. I find it concerning that a manager would refuse to identify himself while engaging with a customer regarding a complaint about his conduct. I am extremely disappointed by the way I was treated. I attended your venue expecting to enjoy the performance, not to be repeatedly interrupted, wrongly accused of violating venue policy, accused of lying, verbally insulted, and denied the ability to identify the staff member involved. Is this truly the level of professionalism and customer service that Antone's expects from its staff? I would appreciate a response regarding this incident, the identification of the manager involved, and any steps that will be taken to address this matter. read more

Had the pleasure of checking out Antone's several weeks ago. My boyfriend really wanted to see an Australian band he's been listening to for years, so we booked tickets for their show at Antone's. Antone's is a small, intimate venue on E. 5th street in downtown Austin. Despite being a small venue, plenty of well-known artists come through here or start their careers here. There is a cute record store attached to the venue, as well as a bar inside where you can order drinks. Antone's also sells hotdogs, but pretty limited food menu other than that. Very limited seating, as well. Only a few barstools along the wall. We found paid street parking near the venue. It would be nice to have designated or validated parking nearby, but that's pretty hard to come by in that part of town. All in all, a good experience, and I look forward to going back for another show! read more

It's about time I give my love to the latest incarnation of Antone's, one of the last iconic venues still standing in the "Live Music Capital of the World". This location around the corner from Eddie V's just a block off "Dirty 6th" is the 3rd I've visited over the last 30+ years and it's still a great place for music lovers, if not quite as gritty as it once was. For concerts, it's usually GA, standing only, so get in there right after doors open if you are petite or simply must claim one of the 10 or so bar chairs lining the walls closest to the stage. Sound quality is great and the crowd is usually full of friendly, true music fans. If you show up before the doors open, you can join the line and make a few new friends. You might even meet one or more musicians, since they typically park the tour bus directly in front of the entrance on 5th. Domestic beers are $7 and water is serve-yourself, so you can still get a few drinks without breaking the bank. During SXSW, there are usually several excellent day & evening parties with live music held both in the downstairs main area and the upstairs "private party rental" space. If you're out & about during the fest, it's a must stop. Negatives? Well, like any place downtown, parking can be a challenge and you may encounter some characters on the journey between the car and the door. We usually use one of the parking apps to secure a garage space for around $10 with no problems. read more

Welcome to the "new" Austin where everything is more expensive and yet, you get the same as before The band was amazing. We had such a great time. Even the venue had very good sound. The music sounded great. Unfortunately, the experience sucked We waited to buy our tickets at the door, thinking we would save money, but nope I have a feeling that this location is owned by Ticketmaster because even at the door we had to go through Ticketmaster and nobody likes Ticketmaster except the shareholders who make money off Ticketmaster stock. So we were charged six dollars on top of the Ticketmaster fee and even Parking was $44. And Oscar, the guy at the door was a total jerk. Hey Oscar, if you don't like your job, get another job because you were a jerk. The venue itself even with all these charges only has six fans NOT air-conditioning but six fans so the temperature outside was 55° degrees and the temperature inside was 85 degrees. So at a certain point we had to stop dancing because we were sweating so much. The bar itself charges 20% on any drinks so for someone to reach back and give give me a beer I'm being charged 20% surcharge. And my favorite part was no one walked around cleaning tables. There was no waiters or waitresses or even security that I saw so halfway through the show, piles and piles of garbage was on all the tables. This place has no class Unless it's a band that we really really really want to see, I will never go to this - box place again. read more

Great place to hear some GREAT music. I was looking for some live blues music to listen to and my lady found this place and surprised me with this outing. Parking was a little blah, but the venue made up for that. It's an older place with old school feel to it. I've been coming to Atx since the 80s and never knew this place was here. The ambiance was nice with a mixed crowd. The scts where Lurrie Bell and Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Waters son). They play their hearts out on that stage and left me in awe. Big Bill went WILD on the guitar seeming to make it talk the words to the songs. I really enjoyed that place and the experience. Before we left we went next door and for a collectable ticket for memorabilia. WHAT A GOOD TIME! read more

Visit on 12/28 to see the Jungle Show. Great jazz venue. Billy Gibbons and Jimmie Vaughan tore it up with their southern blues rock. FYI, SRO. A few small tables were reserved and everything else was standing. Very crowded but drinks served quickly. Higher level security entering, fine by me. Loved the energy and vibe of this iconic venue. I really like Antone's as a concert venue. It is intimate, and the staff are very friendly. They provide free water. At the show I went to last night, the AC was blasting even though it was cold both inside and outside. They should have had the heat on. This was uncomfortable, but the show I went to a few months prior didn't have this issue. I hope they go back to setting the AC/heat to a comfortable temperature. I saw they have a required 20% gratuity, which isn't cool. Just add it into the price. read more

My favorite place to catch a show, reminds me of bars I used to go to when i was younger, very intimate feel. AND WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT THE STAMP ON YOUR HAND/ARM?!? I think they DO need to get ppl away from the bar if they aren't sitting there or ordering a drink because sometimes it's hard to get service, not a big deal. The mix is always spot on! I grew up in Austin playing music and our bands used to play here in the early 2000s first with the Austin School of Music and then with other bands. Over the years the place has slightly bent to the "new Austin," by having a gift shop and catering to a decidedly older, visitor crowd. That's cool. There's Hotel Vegas, Empire Control Room and Mohawk for new and younger bands and The Elephant Room for Jazz. Last night my GF and I saw a bunch of bands were in town and wanted to check some out. We wanted to see Joey Valance and Brey but they were only selling on Ticketmaster. The $40 face value tickets were going for $100/piece if you wanted to bring someone, but just $25 individually. So the night would have cost $300+ if we were tourists, but only $75 if you know Antone's/Ticketmaster is just ripping you off because you want to bring someone to the show (it's SRO so there's no paired seats). What's funny is by the time we walked to Elephant Room, tickets were back down to $35 and then they stopped selling as the show started. How about the Venue? It's just okay. Antone's used to basically be free because it's standing room only. I've never left without wanting desperately to sit down after. Maybe that's just because it's hard to move (i.e. dance) so you're shoulder to shoulder. read more

The food + drinks are incredible, the owners + staff are always extremely professional + friendly... it's always an amazing evening whenever I get the chance to go. Blues Monday with Soulman Sam at Antones is an Austin must see for blues. Cover is $10 (can sit in unreserved chair on the side) or $20 for a seat at a table. There is room for dancing and the bathrooms are particularly nice and clean. The music is loud but you want it loud. The bar is long and of course they serve free Cliffy hot dogs (I have never tried them but they look decent). If you dont feel like dancing to Soulman Sam then you may need to visit your doctor. He never ceases to entertain even though the core of his set is the same week after week. And Willie D on tenor sax is worth the price of admission just to hear him wailing. read more
