We rented a car from Avis (Union Station, Washington, D.C.) that turned out had four almost bald tires, one of which failed on our way to Clarion, PA. We stopped at this Monro service center in DuBois, PA. The tire couldn't be repaired, but the crew put the spare on (first filling it to proper pressure -- it was low), and the Store Manager Doug Smith charged me nothing for the trouble. Driving home on the long weekend through torrential downpours. Tire started losing air. It had enough to get us to the hotel overnight. Woke up to a complete flat. Apparently the tire at a bolt. It's a holiday. What are the chances anyone is open. We called AAA and they helped us find Monro, open and only a mile from our hotel. Changed to a spare and drove over. We could t have asked -- or even wished -- for better service. They were respectful, informative, swift, and thorough. Really, we can't recommend them highly enough. Excellent. High marks. the first time I came here I had a pretty good idea what I needed repaired so no real issues was there for probably about 2 hours for an oil change four new tires and an exhaust repair. the next time I went was awful to the point if I can avoid going back I will at least to that facility. went in for nothing but an oil change walked to a near by restaurant to eat figuring it would be done when I got back. came back after an hour and it hasn't even been pulled in I had made an appointment for this should have been done. then what I discover was there was a woman doing my oil change which is fine good job for being able to work on vehicles however it was also the same woman I watched leave the vehicle before mine to go make out with her significant other in the parking lot and then took another hour to do the change which she still needed help from one of the guys and forgot stuff like the sticker in the window. so 2 hours for an oil change that cost me well over 100 is insane especially when there was an appointment made for this. read more

Had terrible experiences both times I had to take my vehicle here for very minor things. There is no attention to detail they damaged my expensive wheels I had just got.. all they had to do was put them on and they managed to mess one of them up really bad. They also try to take advantage of you by telling you you need things done that aren't necessary and charge crazy amounts for it if you're not careful.. read more

Went to get my girlfriend's car inspected here, told her her back brakes and wipers would fail her. Fair enough. They then told her it would be $600 dollars to replace her brakes. So we walked across the parking lot and went to Auto zone and got her brakes for $30, put them on myself and went to somewhere else and passed. Rediculous, never come here if possible. read more

I would highly suggest you not take your car here for any reason. Overpriced parts and service. They sold me a faulty battery that went completely dead two months later. Refused to acknowledge that it was a bad battery and would not replace it, even though I had a written report from another mechanic stating that it was faulty, frozen, and devoid of fluid. Had to have my car towed to a different shop to have it replaced - and the guys at Flynn's gave me a battery for free. Check around at other places before going to Monro. UPDATE: 2/7/14 - After contacting the corporate office twice, I received a call from the District Manager who apologized profusely and agreed to immediately process a refund for me. Although I appreciate his apology and response, I still would not recommend this shop to anyone. It's a shame it had to go that far. The shop should have just replaced the battery in the first place, and he agreed that would have been the best course of action. read more
