Dr. Nathan is amazing! He is knowledgeable, very informative and personable doctor. He takes his time to answer all my questions and gives advice on what to do. I came in to see him because my lower back, neck and shoulder had been bothering me. I get headaches at least 4 times a week and I take ibuprofen almost everyday because of the pain. After a few adjustment, I feel so much better. I feel like a new person, fully recharged and energized. I wouldnt even give this business 1 STAR. The filtered reviews were provided by a current employee and a former employee. Dr. Shepard and Dr. Tibbitts are no longer there. Many people have left this office because of their unethical billing, unethical practices all in part to Dr. Sudore, the owner of this business. She does nothing to create a peaceful environment. She brings office politics to her day to day "treatment" therefore creating a VERY hostile environment. She never follows through on her word and is not consistent in the overall business structure. Go here and expect over billing. I'm currently, as are many, reporting her business ethics or rather lack thereof, to the BBB and the insurance commissioner. Dr. Sudore was referred to me by friends that I attend yoga class with. I injured my back/neck during a couple of tumbles skiing this year. After several weeks of pain, I began seeing Dr. Sudore. We discussed my symptoms and set up a treatment plan (twice weekly for 3 weeks, then weekly). I am now seeing her every other week and supplementing with massage. Written in January 2012: This is a warning to anyone needing chiropractic or health services in Monroe, DO NOT GO HERE! I was in a car accident over a year ago, woke up one morning unable to move my head. I have health insurance and went in and told Dr. Sudore my situation. As soon as she heard I had a lawsuit (only started to get my insurance to pay for the rest of my PIP) dollar signs rolled through her eyes. She then said insurance wouldn't pay for it even if she tried and that I should set up a plan that she would get paid when I settled. After going to her for over a month, my last visit I waited while 5 people went before me (about an hour and 15 min), I was feeling better I told her I didn't have any pain that week, she said "Well we can't say that (in my paperwork)." I then didn't come back, she was then not caring about my health but milking me for money. After not coming back she got irate and harassed my lawyers. She then submitted my bills to my insurance company and got them mostly payed for (I still needed to pay the copay). I have now found out she has returned the insurance's payment back and called me up and left a viral message saying I needed to pay the whole thing, $1,790 in full or she's sending me to collections. *Also her corrections are fast and brutal. As of Decemeber 2012: After help from my lawyers she dropped what I owed to a little under $600, I was able to pay with care credit and get this place off my mind. I then got a new letter pretty recently that said the same balance was still owed. Good thing I paid in full and still had the receipt. I'll be holding onto all my paperwork for a while now. read more

Kelly is so knowledgable and passionate about her work. She has a way of really connecting with her patients and gets to know them on a personal level. Within 1 week I noticed my neck pain and stiffness subside, and she completely healed my hamstring issues that were impeding my yoga practice! Dr. Shepard gets 5 stars! She's a thoughtful practioner who doesn't over- or under-treat. Plus, she's fun to talk to and has a great sense of humor. The location is convenient; right off a main drag in town. The converted house could probably use a little updating but the friendly front staff make up for any of that. read more

I was injured earlier this year and left unable to walk too far, stand for too long or use stairs for most of the summer. After not moving for so many months I put on a lot of weight and became very stiff. My back hurt so much for me to just stand let alone try to cook or clean for my family that I was feeling pretty hopeless. I also have mild scoliosis and haven't had much hope that a chiropractor could help ease my pain or have me walking normal again any time soon. A friend recommend that I seek treatment with Dr. Strohm. Every time I leave his office I am standing up straight and walking pain free. Just dont let them bill your insurance. Improper billing, and they billed me personally saying they never got paid by my insurance even though Ihad proof my insurance paid them 100%. THey also miss billed my treatment, billing me for things they did not do. Do not come here for chiropractic or insurance treatments. TL;DR Version: Dr. Sudore, who owns both Monroe Chiropractic and Alternative Medical Center and Positive Chiropractic and Wellness in Kirkland refuses to take responsibility for previous employees behaviors and miscommunication; values an extra $100 over keeping a customer; takes advantage of unemployed, pregnant, teacher who was just trying to have less back pain. Read on for entire story... My experience with Monroe Chiropractic and Alternative Medical Center was not stellar from the very beginning (I did not feel good about the chiropractor's knowledge of prenatal appropriate adjustments nor his confidence in his practice as a whole), however it managed to get worse as the months went on, rather than just remaining "okay". I sought out their chiropractic and massage expertise when I was about 5 months pregnant because I was having some very uncomfortable back pain, especially when sitting and driving. This was in early April of this year. My husband and I have insurance that we have purchased as a result of the Affordable Care Act, and so I gave them that information, but asked them if it was possible for them to check if it was in fact covered because I wasn't sure (yes, I realize I could have checked ahead of time on my own to see what my full chiropractic coverage was, but I was a first time pregnant, struggling for work teacher who was in a lot of pain, so when they said they had an open appt, I didn't hesitate). And I also asked if for some reason they were told that it wasn't covered or only partially covered if I could instead pay their cash price instead. The young woman working the front desk told me that was "no problem, they did it all the time", and that she'd call me to confirm one way or the other. I never got a phone call, so after a while I just assumed they used my insurance and everything was good. Wrong. In June I received a bill for a lot more than what I was told was the cash price for adjustments, which also included $200 JUST because I was a new patient. It had been billed to my insurance as a "procedure" (which seemed odd since the description given to me by the office manager sounded more like a FEE just for being a new patient - not a great way to get new patients if you ask me). I wondered why I hadn't been contacted, like I was promised, when my insurance didn't fully cover my adjustments and in fact ended up being MORE expensive than the cash price they offer. So I called to talk to someone, and found out that BOTH the front desk employee AND the chiropractor I had seen were no longer working for them...both individuals who could verify my story were no longer with the office a mere 2 months after I had sought their services. So I explained to the NEW office manager how the conversation had gone. She informed me that 200$ for a new patient visit was standard and there was nothing she could do about that. While that seemed totally absurd (no other doctor I've ever seen has charged nearly double for a "new patient visit"), I moved on to asking for the cash prices for my adjustments. After doing the math, we both noticed that I would have paid $100 LESS had they not billed my insurance...which was supposed to be communicated to me by the previous office manager prior to billing my insurance. So I called my insurance and they very happily told me there was an EASY way to fix this - simply have the chiro's billing department retract the claim as "billed in error" and all would be good, no questions asked. So I thought, sweet, easy solution. Wrong. After 5 phone calls to the chiropractic office, and 1 to my insurance company the issue was still not solved, even though I was told by the CURRENT office manager on July 18, that she would be communicating my solution to billing and I'd be receiving a revised bill in the mail. On August 1 they sent me a new bill. Same total. No revision. Only this time there was an angry, threatening, bright orange sticker on the bill telling me I was 90 days past due and that if I didn't pay, they'd send me to collections. Wait a minute, I've been talking to your office manager about this whole situation, I was told to wait for a revised bill, and now I'm being threatened? Apparently, Dr. Kelly Anne Sudore, who owns both Monroe Chiropractic and Alternative Medical Center, as well as Positive Chiropractic and Wellness in Kirkland, WA, decided that she had changed her mind (either that or she hadn't been fully informed of the proposed solution in the first place and when she was, she didn't like it) and decided that since their biller had already been paid she would not be revising my bill. So it wasn't worth it to her to sacrifice the $100 difference between my original bill and the cash price in order to keep a customer and avoid taking advantage of a pregnant, unemployed teacher who's paying out of pocket for her medical insurance. read more

Nathan is by far the most sincere and honest person in the medical field I have ever met. He has taken the time to not only to view my major injuries, but my minimal ones as well. I play for the Arlington Grizzlies and he has been nothing less than spectacular. I thought I had broken both of my thumbs in the beginning of the season and I was not going to be able to play. He set aside his busy schedule to fit me in and then showed up to one of our practices to come check up on me to see how I was holding up. He did this on his day off which left me beyond grateful. Monroe is a bit of a drive from where I live but I much rather make the extra drive to see Nathan rather than go to my local or regular doctor. His actions speaks volumes and without him I would not have the opportunity to play in our championship game this afternoon. Scheduled a massage on a Thursday for the following Thursday. Therapist calls on Wednesday afternoon to reschedule. I get the message at about 5:30 and call back. Seems that a teacher conference trumps what is best for the customer. Now it too late to call anybody else tonight to get a massage tomorrow. NFW will I ever call this place again. I'm SO glad I found a Chiropractor who gets results. Fast in my case! I shuffled into the office a couple weeks ago nearly wrenched in a knot. Didn't do anything other than maybe sleep weird... BUT I am a 40 year old carpenter, so it's likely I'm just falling apart. I should also point out that I don't have insurance and Dr visits are out of pocket. Besides, I'm no cry-baby, so usually I need to be dragged to a Dr. But my neck and shoulder were SOOOO pinched, I couldn't really even drive safely. Turns out one of my ribs was all popped out of place. I was like "WHAT?" well that's why I'm not a Dr. But I was receptive to the adjustments, and, equally important, I did the stretches Dr. Sudore gave me and I was back at work 2 days later. Yeah, I'm a tuff guy, but I was down for the count and there's NO WAY I could have done that without her. I'm nearly 100% but I enjoy my new found posture so much I'm going to come back regularly.
