They are very expensive and do more then you need to have done. I went in for a couple Broken teeth and then had a 5 thousand dollar bill.

From the start, she claimed to have reviewed my chart but immediately began correcting me about my own history. When I mentioned past experiences, she confidently "corrected" me about locations and details -- only to later be proven wrong. Instead of listening and focusing on my urgent pain, she was dismissive and condescending. She briefly looked in my mouth, ignored my obvious wisdom tooth pain, and instead focused on an old chipped tooth that hasn't caused me any issues for over a year. She told me a crown on that tooth should be my "biggest concern," wrote a prescription for antibiotics, handed me yet another referral for my wisdom teeth, and sent me on my way. The next day I had a cleaning with a different dentist, Dr. Bracha Ollech, who was the complete opposite: she immediately recognized that my wisdom teeth were decaying and personally called oral surgeons to help me get treatment quickly. On top of the poor care, Dr. Hira's bedside manner was extremely unprofessional. She laughed about my financial situation, made a snide remark about affording a $35 X-ray, and even commented that I "should get off my mommy's insurance" -- without knowing anything about my personal circumstances. She also gave me unsolicited, judgmental comments about birth control after prescribing antibiotics, without understanding that I'm on it for medical reasons (PCOS), not for "partying" as she implied. Overall, I left feeling humiliated, dismissed, and without the urgent care I needed. This was one of the worst dental experiences I've ever had. If you want a dentist who listens, cares, and treats patients with respect, I would not recommend Dr. Hira. Everybody else in the office is absolutely lovely and genuinely cares about their patients -- I owe a huge thank-you to Bracha Ollech, truly one of the best dentists I've ever been to.

Was then told that they didn't have any appointments for a number of months and to try the Goshen or Middletown offices. The Goshen office didn't have appointments until the end of the year so I called back the Monroe office. The same person told me they were discharging patients and to call back in a half hour. I called back in half an hour and when the woman found out who I was, she said sorry, they were closed and hung up on me. Not the way to impress a new patient.

I had two extractions today and they were relatively pain free, even now that the numbing has worn off. I would definitely recommend Smile a Bit. Then they said they weren't' comfortable working w/patient w/Parkinson's. I found a new dentist and oral surgeon for him. A few months later I rec'd a call confirming an appt for him. I had to explain to them that THEY had told me months ago that they weren't comfortable working on him due to the Parkinson's tremors. The new dentist I found for him was so much more professional appearance, office decor and friendly, that I decided to use them as well. Smile a Bit, claimed they took my mom's insurance and worked on her in 2025. Suddenly, in 2026 they claimed they had no insurance documentation for her and that she must've dropped her insurance...she had not. I resubmitted it to them and when she went in for a cleaning (1st cleaning of the year) they said they had to charge her $75 and that all her work would have to be out of pocket. This didn't sound right because they claimed that they accepted Aetna Medicare. Called Aetna and they told me, that office and doctor was NOT "in Network". The doctors name I offered from that Highland Mills office is not the name that Aetna had on file, nor was a doctor by that name in that office. Therefore, I've just now moved my mom to our new dentist in Stoney Point as well. Aetna coverage for "IN NETWORK" dental is that they'll pay for the first $750. After that, it would be OOP. I was told by the SAB staff that their practice IS "in Network." That was wrong according to Aetna Medicare For this region. Bottom line: the administrative staff was very pleasant, but the business side of things and the office's physical appearance needs a lot of work.
