Story times are a blast but some do require a sign up. I would check out the website or call ahead before dropping in to confirm. The kids section is HUGE and has a nice play area for kids under the age of six. There are iPads and other devices with activities for older children. I'm not too knowledgeable about the older kids programs but I've seen photos friends have posted online and they look like a lot of fun. My favorite part about this library is the events they host in the evening for adults. I love all of the crafting events! These are always sign up only and fill up quickly. They post about the events on the Facebook page and tell you what day sign ups begin. You can sign up online but I find it best to call in early that day and sign up. I've attended a few painting classes, wine glass painting, book purse making, etc. We eat, we chat, we craft! It's a great girls night activity! And if they happen to have another murder mystery night, do yourself a favor and sign up! The actors are interactive and they let you explore the library to find clues and grill the suspects. They always have a rack right by the door of new releases and I can usually always find my next great read. The shelves are always organized and it's easy to find exactly what your looking for. The computer work well and the staff is super friendly. The bathrooms are also clean and well kept. I also really appreciate all the extra groups and meeting a they hold there. There is something for everyone! The library card also gives you access to the Libby app which has almost unlimited audiobooks and e-books you can download straight to your phone or tablet.

Like other DML branches, it is clean and well-maintained…read more It has a larger children's and teen's section than some of the other branches, including a teen quad and opportunity space which appears to be geared towards arts and crafts. Reservable spaces include a quad for up to 4 people, group room for up to 8 people, conference room for up to 10 people and large community room for up to 90 people. There's also a quiet reading area with two 4-person tables, two 2-person tables and some reading chairs. Most of these spaces are on the inner portion of the library, so they lack windows. Other than the reservable spaces, there's not a whole lot of other places to sit -- only two other larger tables, one of which is occupied by a community puzzle. Of note, it gets rather cold here so bring a jacket if you plan on staying a while!

My younger daughter loves to hang out in the play area and color the printed color sheets. We also check out books weekly to read at bed time. It's always something for her to look forward to. For my older daughter, they always have the curtain books she looking for, wether it be for fun, or school related. Also, there selection of PG dvds is so great! They have so many news ones, they even offer movies that are currently in REDBOX still! They also have all your older classics. It's great for family movie night. There are two children's computers pre loaded with children games they are great for my pre schooler. They also offer free story time during the week, for different ages. The building itself is an antique, and has been kept up very well. The new parking lot they put in helps the flow of traffic and is much appreciated.
