Never thought I would leave a review for a laundromat, but here I am. After COVID, this laundromat went under new ownership and they cleaned it up real nice. The unfortunate thing is every time I come here to do laundry it's the staff. I always have someone coming up to me asking me if I know what I'm doing or if I need help, but in a bothersome way. I told myself months ago I was going to stop coming here because of it, but eventually ended up coming back due to convenience and location, but I'm definitely not coming back now. ONCE AGAIN. Instead of management responding on Nextdoor and other apps. Evaluate your staff. There are multiple people complaining on the same person. Deny what you want. You need sensitivity training on your employees on how to have great customer service. This is not the way to run a business. When I spoke to her I asked her what was her issue I couldn't hear her the first time. She had an attitude. I told her multiple times my son has been there. She could've clearly stated our management team doesn't allow any customers to use the restroom anymore. I would've been fine with that but instead she chose to be rude and aggressive . Tell the truth before you speak of allegations at certain time frames making it seem like you're correct , I didn't come at her foul , I asked her what her problem was because I didn't ask her rudely. I just asked a simple question . That's where customer service comes in.The number on the door goes straight to the office. Bring back better management. You guys deserve the rating you have. Use this platform to do better and improve not bully customers. My niece and I were sitting and waiting for our wash to finish. As we were talking your staff comes over and interrupts to tell us how we should sit properly and belittled my niece a minor. I had to tell her to leave her alone several times. I also found it appalling how she waited till I walked away to continue to harass my niece. Your staff targeting a minor is the issue. Belittling my niece was completely out of the line and honestly very uncomfortable for the both of us. If i was told that I cannot dry my clothes in the laundry anymore because you guys are closing, I would've totally understood and just moved on. But the attendant told me that I cannot do that anymore in a rude manner because it is a waste of electricity. Owner recently got the inside upgraded and is very rude. They had leaking washers for years , roaches inside & always had unsanitary areas , She is not approachable you ask a question. Everything is a slick remark again she just got everything upgraded 2023 do not recommend. read more

I had to go here for about a month during a summer before the washing machine I purchased showed up. I found using this laundromat a really interesting experience and really enjoyed it. The washing machines worked, the coin machines worked, the washing machines were clean and did a good job. The place was very cheap. There were places for me to sit by my laundry until it was done. No fuss parking. I think people who hate this place dont understand that a lot of people need access to cheap laundromats. This place is able to be cheap because they do not have new state of the art machines (but the machines they have work), its not newly renovated etc. While using this place for a month I found it very clean, (though it did have things at times left behind by customers) though it was run down (which to me is a plus, because it being run down means it can maintain being cheap, as renovations cost money). Overall I was able to do my laundry, my clothes got clean, never had anything bad happen to my clothes here, and had a good relaxing time out while chilling here. I also never had an issue with anyone here. On a plus for me, this place was super authentic and felt genuine which I really liked in the worker here, and the overall establishment old style, design etc. The guy who works at this laundromat was the nicest person. I forget how he helped me because it was a few years ago but I just remember that I was surprised at how much he went above and beyond for me. I remember he was really nice, helpful and also fun to converse with. Overall, I greatly enjoyed the experience of using this laundromat. I stayed w my laundry the whole time until it was done and just had a very interesting and enjoyable experience. I also want to say something about people complaining that the place is dirty and showing pictures of dryer fabric softener sheets: the place was actually very clean when I used it, the floor was well mopped and pristine. I often went late and saw the guy moping the floor and cleaning the inside etc of each washing machine/dryer each night. The floor was clean when I used it. There were often dryer sheets and mess left by customers, but the place was never dirty at all when I used it. I think you will find dryer sheets on the floor of ANY laundromat lol read more

This place and the machines here are so old and run down, but at least the dryers work pretty well. Chairs are provided outside too, in case you need a place to sit down. Best time to come is 2-4pm during the weekdays, when there are fewer people around. There's a smoke and vape store next door, which attracts some sketchy people at times. During the few hours I was here, some gangster-looking dudes decided to take a break outside the said store and the smell of weed was very pervasive, but I shrugged it off since they were standing far away enough and minding their own business. read more

I'm leaving a 1 Star again because the sorry owner of this establishment is blatantly lying about me and I won't stand for it and I can't respond back to their lying response. Our front-loading washer at home broke down. While waiting for newly ordered machine,, found this place nearby. If I was still an apartment-living bachelor, I would have no problem coming here weekly for my laundry. Looked like all the machines were working. They were all clean. Top loaders and at least three different size front loaders,, which,, by the way make retail front loaders for the home look like toys.. Dryers worked well. Rolling baskets were solid and worked well. Not sure what standards the negative reviewers have, but I am glad I ignored them. Will probably return regularly to wash large quilts...probably what killed our last front loader. PS, there is a liquor store and taco stand in same shopping center. read more

The one star is for the new equipment and cleanliness of the place. I would give 0 stars for customer service. Before taking out my laundry I quickly ran in to throw away an empty fast food bag, since there was no trash can outside. On the way back to my car, I was stopped by Sergeant Nasty Pants informing me that what I just did was considered TRESPASSING AND LITTERING!! She was so rude and nasty, she COULD have just stated that trash cans are for customers only and I would have explained that I was PLANNING TO BRING IN MY LAUNDRY. This would be such a wonderful laundromat if their employees didn't treat you horribly the second you walked in. A short blonde lady working this Wednesday morning shift was very rude the second I came in when I said I needed to get cash from the atm so I can get quarters. She was questioning me and saying if I'm not doing business here then I can't get quarters and need to leave because I hadn't brought in my laundry that I had in my car yet as I didn't want to drag it around as I figured out how this new place worked. This was the first interaction and it was very unwelcoming, her tone was rude, and she was generally unfriendly. This was my first time here and she was very standoffish. I will not be back, I feel extremely unwelcome here and hated how I was immediately treated like I was doing something wrong. I haven't met the owner but by the way he clearly states in every bad review response "I have no control over my employees" he has no idea how to run a business. Go somewhere else. Made sure to grab some more of your quarters on my way out by the way, thanks, gonna use them elsewhere. I've read several reviews and see that this is a consistent problem many people share. There's no way to contact anyone, the only two numbers don't work and/or are ignored, 80% of the machines don't work and aren't marked, I wasted 30 min waiting for some clothes to dry that didn't even dry and I can't get my money back since there's no way to get a hold of someone. Reading all the other reviews and seeing the way the owner is off hinge shows in his replies, STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE, I recommend the "Sierra Madre Laundry" it's not that far from here and it's probably plus 6 minute drive depending where u are, but that place doesn't have the same strict rules, and they actually let you do your laundry in peace instead of constantly hawking you. It feels like i'm in a prison when i go here, constantly looking at you to make sure you don't steal or anything (which i get) but it makes the environment very hostile, im not going to war to do my laundry i'm just here to do my laundry. read more

This review is solely based on my experience today 4/1/24 at or around 9:54 pm. I've been going there for the past few months and every single time I've enjoyed my time there. Today, I had a horrible experience with the attendant (a female). I forgot my dryer sheets so I came in and asked the attendant for the items that were on one of the counters. I approached her politely and asked if the stuff on the table belonged to someone because I felt like the box of dryer sheets belonged to me. Her response was aggressive, combative, condescending and loud. I kept calm but after she continued with her aggressive attitude I asked her if it was a problem that I asked her about my dryer sheets. I let her know that my issue was the way she responded to me with her nasty attitude. She continued with her aggressive attitude as if I did something wrong and rather than de-escalating the situation, she continued to mock me saying that there was one dryer sheet left. She then continued to yell and she threatened me that she was going to call the cops. She further said that she had the right to refuse service. I responded by encouraging her to call the police in hopes that the police would look at the footage and confirm my version of the encounter. A male attendant or possibly a random person walked in and she kept talking to him about how she would call the police. Of course she never did call anyone. My understanding is that there are cameras and that they will confirm my encounter with her. This is a horrible person working there with zero people skills. Such a shame because for the most part they keep the place clean. This review might change depending on the owner's response. It got so Bad We Called Monrovia P.D on Him!! After they saw the inside Video & Videos we all had. They Told Me I Could Press Charges On him for Assault!!! They called His Mother who is the Owner & She said she did not want us to come back to do laundry like if We all were in the wrong?? I told the Police I felt sorry for Him & Her & would not press charges on Him!!! He still call me a Vulger Name after that? I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau. Our dryer broke down and this guy needed to wash clothes asap or go without some fresh chonies! Yelp steered me away from two other locations and sent me here, sure it's not the cleneast (not very many laundromats are) and sure everything isn't in Tip top shape but what is counts and that's working washers, dryers, a clean bathroom, clothes baskets to wheel around and a well stocked detergent machine. Exclusive sneaker washer! I'm sold! This laundry has an amazing sneaker cleaner! I'm a sneaker head and I always take my shoes to a cleaners that charges me $15 bucks a pair of shoes. Here at Monrovia Coin Laundry you can was up to six pairs of sneakers for $8 bucks $4 to wash and $4 to dry. Machine does a great job! Left my shoes looking brand new! The manager "Casey" claimed he checked all of them so I didn't check he also mention that people steal all the time.
