It's small. Teeny. Never more than 100 chairs or less for the audience. Some of the shows performed here may only have 1-3 actors. It's very much like a black box theater. Super intimate. I love it. Their shows range from kid productions to very dark, racy, weird, controversial shows. Plays and musicals are mixed in every season. Sometimes the show is in the actual theater, sometimes it's held in the 'lobby' of it's a small show. They have mild concessions of candy and cans of pop. Sometimes a show is BYOB. Two bathrooms, very clean; gender neutral. Tickets can be bought at the venue or online. Parking isn't always the best. No parking lot or anything. It's smack dab in the middle of downtown Sioux City. Tickets are typically around $25. Seats are always general admission. Rarely are microphones used. Space is small enough they're usually not needed. The last show I saw there was one of the best shows I've seen done in Siouxland. (Non-professionally.)

I personally did 11 years of summer camps and classes here as a kid. I got all of my t-shirts made into a quilt! The building is very old. Very old. At this time they are working on moving to a new location. They just need a crap ton of donations. Bathrooms are old and stink. Not a lot of parking. Get to a show early if you wanna be in the lot. Street parking otherwise. They do sell season tickets. This theater holds a small part of my heart. If you like theater, catch a show. And take a look around. Surprises are everywhere.

Well, about half of the building is dedicated to Lewis and Clark's journey, and the other half is the Betty Strong Encounter Center which has more artwork and local subjects. I spent a surprising amount of time here. I really like how some of the exhibits discusses Sergeant Floyd's death, which was previously glossed over. I only knew that he was the only death on the trial, but I never knew the circumstances. There's a nearby obelisk that also memorializes his death if you want to further explore the history.

This was amazing and it is a must see for anyone who is wanting to know a little bit about our history in America and a lot about Sioux City. The exhibits are fantastic, the building is gorgeous as is the setting out on the riverfront. There are also lots of other places surrounding it that are locals and tourists alike. There is a dry docked boat museum next-door and there is also a cultural center attached to Lewis and Clark building that is a must as well!! All the way in addition, multimillion dollar improvement done to their waterfront area here that's in that same section. Park your car in their ample parking lot and start walking.

What gives them the right to keep my loose money and they keep it thinking its a tip. I see them going around cashing tickets out on the machines, and keeping the money, not much just small change. That is not there money, if anything it belongs to the casino. to me they are stealing. Its really there lose because I quit tipping. Besides I will not be coming back. We were wrong!! This theater has wonderful leather reclining seats, more concessions choices, much more candy options than the other theater, and alcohol sales as well. Not only do they have beer on tap, but frozen slushees with alcohol like frozen jack and coke. I was much happier with this downtown theater and can't wait to go back!
