Coming to Montana's is typically an enjoyable experience. The environment, the staff and even the portion sizes are often pretty great. By going to the Mapleton Rd location, however, you're kind of playing Russian roulette. Sometimes the food is good and other times, such as tonight, it takes 2 1/2 hours to receive your dish and a refill on water. To add, the food is typically pretty enjoyable (although there are better spots in town to eat) and comes in great portion sizes. Watch out though! Because you waited so long, your food might come out cold (like tonight). read more

Really was not great. The atmosphere was very cool and the staff was very friendly; however the food was not it. We ordered our burgers medium, but once we got them they informed us that they cannot cook anything below well done. If we had known that, then we would have ordered a different meal so the staff failed to mention that factor while we ordered our burgers at a specific temperature. So the burgers were very dry and the chicken was rubbery. Definitely would not recommend especially for burgers! read more

We are visiting Canada and saw this chain a few times so decided to try. The sign said Steakout but when we went in only one cut sirloin was offered. I got the sample platter for $29.99 what a joke two bones ribs were so small like 2 inches x 2 inches hard to separate with a knife and fork. Go for the chicken waffle sandwich: crispy chicken sandwiched between 2 liege Belgian waffles (the ones with pearl sugar!) and topped with a sweet maple Sriracha glaze. I'd go back for this alone. Well let's see. My gf and I went to Montana's on Sunday evening. Only waited about 10 minutes to get a table. Very friendly staff. Ordered the deep fried pickles as our appetizer. Very good. I recommend. My gf ordered the steak with waffle fries, and I had the mac & cheese with bacon and sausage. Steak was a little over cooked. Fries were great. Mac & cheese was delicious. Lots of sausage and bacon throughout. Cheese sauce was rich and creamy. We both had one alcoholic beverage as well as water to wash it all down. With tip it cost us about $60. Atmosphere is nice. No long wait to be served on. Food was served in a very timely manner. Will go again. Thanks for reading. read more

Food here: awesome. I like the yankee pot roast with a side of corn bread. don't fear the veggie burger - that thing is two meals in size and tastes better than any other veggie burger joint in town. Montana's is pretty decent. Good food, clean, and great atmosphere. My complaints would be that it's expensive, and sometimes service fails because of how busy they can get. That being said, I wrote this review specifically to tell you this! There are two appetizers here that will change your life. (Ok maybe not, but work with me here) First they have the 4 cheese spinach dip which is amazing. People that don't even like spinach dip love this stuff. (I'm one of them) Second, they have Oven baked Antojitos. Not sure how to discribe this one ... heaven wrapped in tortilla shell. It does have a slight bite to it though, for those that aren't big on spicy food. My wife and I usually go in, order these two, and it's enough to fill us. Plus, it doesn't break the bank. read more

I loved the atmosphere here. The service was amazing! It was a busy night and we didn't have to wait long for our server to check up on us which I appreciated. I got the southern chicken sandwich and I personally wouldn't get it again. It was slipping and sliding around and falling apart.. the sauce was running down my arm as I was trying to eat it. The sweet potato fries weren't really worth the extra money because they were tiny and there wasn't a lot but I think I just ordered the wrong this is all. This place inside and out looks like a wood camp any men would love to have (TVs and decor included). Noisy and full of people with their families, the atmosphere might be fun and energetic for some, and overwhelming for others. Not exactly the place to go for a romantic supper, but more a place to go with friends and family. It did not take long when seated that the waiter came along to take our drink orders and wrote his name on the brown paper used as a table cloth. We went to this restaurant on a hot day but inside felt more like "Winter in Montana". We asked for the air conditioning to be lowered and they were kind enough to do so. I ordered the beef rib, with a side of roasted garlic potato mash and coleslaw. The other person with me ordered a 12 oz steak with fries and corn. It took about 20 to 25 min before we got our food. The plate for the steak was too small, it was covered in fries, fried onions and a bowl with the corn, half the steak was resting on the fries, the blood of the medium rare steak dripped on the fries. The steak was covered in garlic butter and was cooked to perfection. The person that ordered the steak enjoyed it very much. My regular size beef rib was covered with their Texan bold BBQ sauce. The meat was quite tender and had a nice smoky flavor. The BBQ sauce was like it name suggests, it was bold, not overpowering the taste of the meat, not too sugary or tangy, actually complimenting the rib very well. A comment was made about my mash potato being of a small portion but considering I had a cornbread in my plate; it was enough for me. The potatoes had a nice even, soft texture, they were well seasoned (in secret, I wanted more of them). The creamy coleslaw was what you would expect from any regular coleslaw. I wasn't a fan of the cornbread, the texture was chewy, but I am no cornbread connoisseur. For dessert, we had the mini donuts. They came to our table warm in a paper bag and the server shook them before us. It was served with two dipping sauces; one was fudge and the other, caramel. I preferred the caramel. They were pretty good as they disappeared quickly. On a side note, the white plates seemed to have been knocked around quite a bit, the edges were covered in grey scratches. The steak knives were not sharp enough to cut through the steak, but I didn't have trouble cutting in the meat of my rib. Overall, food tasted good, but I thought it was a little pricey. read more

Mixed bag. Server was great. Very helpful. The allergy conversation... I beg of you restaurant management please do not give the liability speech in front of a child. Once you do that with mine, she is not eating. Period. We have eaten at Montana's before but she will not eat there anymore. I understand you cannot vouch for everything that comes in to the restaurant. The 10 year old does not. It freaks her out when you say she may die. Please do not give the talk in front of the child. We identify her allergy so you are careful making the food. I have researched online and you contradicted what was there. Confusing for the child and me. Fajitas were ok. Kind of blah. DH felt the same with the fish and chips. Teen loved the chicken Parmesan. Caesar was great. Would have liked to be up sold on the larger drink. Hard to really give an honest review of this place. I went and there was a line up to eat but a whole section was closed down and asked if it was reserved was told by a snot nose staff that it is closed. The steak however is tasty, but I have had better else were. The prices are rather up there also, 25 to 30 dollars for a steak at Monana's is way to pricey, it isn't like your ordering from a 5 star restaurant. I would say this is just an average place to eat, nothing special. read more

Never had an issue with the place. Environment is fun and authentic, love those little mason jar glasses they serve you with. The staff is decent aside from one negative experience, but even then, nothing to worry about. The food is pricey, but worth it. I particularly like the appetizers here.
