Ribs were pretty darn good, just the right amount of tenderness without falling apart. But that's where the positives ended. Brisket didn't really appear smoked- grey and dry without any smoke ring. Oddly there was no meat platter option that included ribs and pulled pork. The boneless chicken wings were pre-made chicken tenders with a vinegary sauce. Service was friendly, but long stretches of not checking in left us drink-less. What cocktails we were able to snag didn't taste like they actually had the liquor in them. Stick to beer. read more

Kansas is not a dry state, like the menu claims. (I've gotten besotted in bars there plenty). But, otherwise, the food is good, and they have reasonable specials especially during the week. This is a very expensive restaurant, expect to pay $100 for supper for two people. I ordered a steak and it said it was $25.99 on the menu but on my bill it was $28.99, and to make it worse the steak was so chewy it hurt my jaw to get through it all. Hard to rate fairly. Family atmosphere, upbeat, friendly staff. The food was well prepared and executed. It looks and acts like a casual but very nice restaurant. Ultimately, though my meal was disappointing. Actually, both our meals were disappointing. After discussing our experience my wife and I decided it must be a supply problem owing to covid disruption. Our disappointment was the meat itself. Her small sirloin was lightly pink-- medium rare yet tough. My ribs were smoky, tender and meatless. No chef could save that although they made a valiant try. It is a popular restaurant. Has a lounge and a patio. The inside is rustic country. Free parking. Staff were friendly. I would call the food comfort food. Not fine dining here. The beef ribs were very good. The house salad was fair and with head lettuce and a few slivers of carrots. Slaw side was very small. Corn bread was good. The wraps are made of a doughy crust which either you like or you hate. It's an OK spot. read more

This restaurant is at the Corral Centre about 5 min South on 18th off Hwy 1. If you are passing through I recommend this restaurant over the half-assed restaurants on the hwy. Went here the other day on a whim as we haven't been here in awhile. Service was good, server initially brought me the wrong beer, but it was cold and tasted really good. After downing 3/4 of it she was still going to replace it with the type I ordered, so thought that was cool. The ribs are alright, now that I cook ribs and turn it into a 16hr affair using two bbqs and combinations of dry rubs and mops, restaurant ribs don't cut it anymore. They are definitely boiled then bbq'd here. The Sauce actually provides a lot of the flavour, which is not what you want. But I am hard to please rib wise. The wife really liked hers. The patio is good, lots of sun. I seriously think they should expand and advertise the patio though, they have a good location and there is ample parking at the Corral Centre. If you are passing thru Brandon and looking for a restaurant I recommend going here. read more
