3 stars only because the service was absolutely amazing. From our hostess to our waiter. Food on the other hand was not the greatest. Between the 3 of us, there were 2 orders of all you can eat ribs (you can switch up the rib sauce for each round), which came with a side of choice (mashed potatoes, beans or fries) and brisket sandwich. The brisket smelled funky, the apple butter BBQ sauce was good though and the fries ordered extra crispy were really good. The ribs were dry and over cooked, the mash was definitely not real mash as it was not creamy and also very dry. The water was stinky. The strawberry lemonade was pretty good though, not too sweet and was refreshing. The donuts were way too greasy but the caramel sauce that came with it was delicious. read more

We dined here prior to watching a film in the theatre nearby. Most of us decided to get some tried-and-true steak. My steak was cooked at my desired doneness of medium-rare (oftentimes when I order medium-rare I get a medium instead). I enjoyed the crisp fries and tasty onion rings of my friends. They forgot the apple butter bbq sauce, which gives the burger some kick. The fries were good, and the bun was "fresh." Montana's it's one of my favorite restaurants to go to. Their burgers are quite amazing but this time I came I got a few different items. Andrea and I got three great dishes: Kapow shrimp Smoke pork poutine Pull pork nachos The Kapow shrimp was tasty and delicious. The server warned it might be spicy but in fact it wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. Yummy on the pork poutine. It could have used a bit more cheese though. Pull pork nachos I wasn't a super fan of. Not to say I wasn't good but in would prefer a chicken nachos instead. I'm not a huge fan of pull pork but I wanted to try it. read more

My wife and I went here for dinner last night. We were sat immediately and didn't wait long for our server to arrive and take our drink orders. She was polite and friendly. She pointed out the drink and food specials and then let us take our time deciding what we wanted to eat. I ordered a 34oz Beau's Lug Tread (yay for local brews!) and my wife ordered some kind of alcoholic lemonade drink. For our meals, I had the brisket burger, and my wife the southern chicken burger. Our food arrived promptly and both were delicious. Overall, the service and food was great. Our bill before tip was around $48. Great food. Had the Mac and cheese and it came with a piece of cornbread. It was all delicious. The real winner though was the stone fruit iced tea. Noah K and I decided to hit up Montana's before our movie for some lunch on the weekend. I didn't remember this location being no nicely decorated - loved the giant wicker lights and let's be real - anywhere with drawing paper and crayons is wonderful. The hostesses that greeted us weren't super friendly, but we had a fantastic server named Caroline. We decided to order three appetizers and split them. She was super helpful with her recommendations, telling us to try the smoked pork poutine, pulled pork nachos and the kapow shrimp. I wasn't super impressed by the poutine - it had a spicy chipotle aioli that just made it a bit too hot for me, and it was a bit too saucy without enough cheese curds. The fries were tasty though! The nachos were fantastic, but unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the pulled pork. It was a bit too sweet. The shrimp however was phenomenal! Breaded, yummy shrimp with amazing chili thai sauce that was full of flavour. Although I wasn't super happy with the pork dishes, our server was so kind and sweet, and the shrimp was so wonderful, I would go back. I'd totally skip on the pork though, and go for something else. I happened to be at this location with my BF recently because he works in the area. I just want to compliment them on the friendly, attentive service and the stellar food. Having been at other Montana locations, I did expect more from the service and the food. This rating is not indicative of all Montana's locations. Our order took much longer then expected. We waited over an hour for food. The beans were dry, the steak was over cooked and cold. Which was surprising. Since our non-attentive server had indicated after we asked why our meal was taking so long, that they were just plating it. The manager did offer to re-fire our steaks or comp them all. I took my wife and a dear friend to have a bite before a movie. It took forever for the waitress to take our order, while she was busy YELLING about some tables birthday, very annoying. When she did come over she was phony and abrupt. We all had the ribs with mushrooms on the side. The food took forever, while I seen other tables sending their food back as well. When it finally arrived it was cold, tasteless and frustrating when the three waitress that took turns serving us took 10 minutes to bring sweet and low for the cold coffee. I usually don't mind Montana's (pretty average chain restaurant food) but I was disappointed this visit. I had the fajitas and I thought they were really gross!! Compared to places like Lone Star or Chilis, they just couldn't keep up. My main concern was they smothered my beef and chicken with super sweet BBQ sauce... Yuck!!! I would never put BBQ sauce in a fajita and I didn't appreciate the flavour at all. I tried to rub it off with my napkin lol. Also, they don't have some of the better sides like rice or beans. I asked if they could do a beef/ chicken mix (like Lone Star) and they said sure... then charged me $4.99 for it. That should've been mentioned or at least written on the menu. That made my order $24, I should've gotten a steak instead! Aside from that, there was a pubic type hair in my anjitos, and 3 of the 8 of us had very nasty gut rot shortly after leaving. Usually get ok food there but this past visit has not only disappointed but has left me feeling I will not be returning and wasting $90 on a dinner for 2. The service was amazing but the food was highly lacking. For a place that is suppose to be known for its ribs that are suppose to fall off the bone I was left highly disappointed. The ribs were chewy like leather due to being highly over cooked and the chicken and waffles that the girlfriend ordered was sub par at best as the first waffle she received was burnt to the point that one side was actually black. Then not only did they serve it to use but turned it over so that she actually had to stomach that first burnt bite before she realized that it was burnt. The only reasons this review has summoned 2 stars as apposed to 1 is the fact that the waitress seen how disappointed we were with this and gave us a free dessert of our choice plus the southern whisky twist drink was very enjoyable (even though it was garnished with a lemon and the menu clearly says an apple) read more
