Never been to a Montana's before was worried some had poor reviews. We were exhausted and it was after 9PM we ordered delivery and hoped for the best. i want to say I am usually very critical-This meal made the whole day better that was the best Fried Chicken I have ever had and I an from KY. We ordered the chicken w gravy and Garlic mash potatoes and green beans then doughnuts for dessert. Everything was packaged neatly hot food, they provided containers for gravy so it was all orderly we got it super fast. I can't say enough about how juicy and crispy and flavorful everything was. doughnuts had sugar and drizzle were packaged so u could shake them in sugar still warm so good. thank you !!! I've done a couple of takeouts from this Montana's and they have pretty good chicken wings. They rival other specialty wing restaurants, even though they are more of an affordable steak place. My favourite to order other than the wings, is the honking beef rib. It comes with cornbread and chilli. Now, this honking beef rib is fall off the bone. However, in recent times, this beef rib is no longer "honking" or large. It is so small now. I wish they kept this beef rib large. It is now a small. However, I do appreciate that they offer this on the menu. Not sure where else they offer a beef rib in the menu. If you know, let me know! read more

Food was over cooked, had spinach dip, pita bread was hard. I had Fajitas at the steak was way over cooked, barely any veggies and shells were wet, my husband had the sirloin steak, again over cooked. He had a upsides baked potato with cheese and chives, maybe 2 chives and 6 pieces of shredded cheese. Or waitress was way to close to us when ever she came by. Came here to eat for a Christmas Party, and boy did I get stuffed. I got a medium 8 oz Sirloin steak, I was offered a 12 oz ribeye steak because the waitress said it might to be too dry if it was medium done. But there's no way in hell id be able to eat that besides I eat so slow. Anywho I got a baked potato as a side, fried onions and coleslaw with 2 grilled shrimp skewers. God was that ever awesome! I'm not one to eat a lot, so this was a pile of food for me. The steak wasn't that dry for me. As everything else was good, although the onions were a bit too much for me. The service here was really good, our waitress was really suggestive with our orders. I was later tempted in getting dessert, cheesecake baked and covered with a tortilla with ice cream on the side with fudge. A lot of fudge! A little too much for me, so It was shared! The bill was a bit pricey but I left really stuffed so it was worth it. It's more like a once in a blue moon type of thing. read more

Came here after work with colleagues. Ordered Jambalaya spaghetti. Came with garlic bread. Overall spaghetti was good in terms of taste. Had shrimp, chicken and sausage in it. Wait was excessively long. The kids weren't happy but they handled it like champs! I didn't. It was so annoying to see all the empty tables and not enough wait staff to seat us. There is no great waiting area for that many people, so it was crowded and no one was really happy. They started telling people they were out of ribs too. Not a big deal for me, but I saw the natives getting restless. So, I'm hungry, it's crowded and the rib-lovers were getting fired up - not the best way to start a relaxing evening out. We finally get seated and I will say the booth was big and comfy and I do enjoy coloring on the table cloth, so one of the two stars is for that! The food was good but the waiter was new and didn't know much. Can't blame a guy for being new - but I can blame the restaurant for not having him shadow someone that did know stuff. Overall, my belly was happy but that's about it - the rest of the experience was pretty crappy. I am not even sure this deserves 2 stars, but I won't take away the one for them letting me color on the paper table cloth. This will be a short and sweet (literally) review. We came here for dessert, random I know. We had a free Birthday dessert, the Jays just lost the playoff game we were at so we wanted to drown our sorrows in sugar. We got the doughnuts. Holy Moly! I've been here for lunch, dinner and drinks and it is impressively average. I haven't had a bad experience here and the food and drinks and have always been good and fair priced. Mike is the very best server around this part of the world. This is a great Montana's the food is fabulous and the service is prompt and the dollar value can not be beaten. My spouse loves the Salmon and my favourite is the carved steak. We both love their loaded baked potatoes. The cornbread is to die for. The desert selection and coffee are great. Serves me right for walking in hungry with my family for lunch on Mother's Day but waiting an hour for drinks, even longer for food (a salad, and 2 hot entrees) and not getting any cutlery with our plates did not go over well with me at all. We had planned on getting an appy but if it took that long to pour a draught, a club soda and mix one cocktail, I wasn't at all hopeful about how long it would take to slap a dip together and poke some pita triangles out of the bowl. The waitress offered us a dessert on the house because she felt bad for the long wait time but no amount of sweets was going to restore the minutes of my life I wasted over here. The portions were tiny and little or no effort seemed to go into presentation. If you're going to charge $15 for a salad, at least spring for a mesclun mix or a nice rocket, not some white lettuce that I wouldn't bother picking up from Food Basics. The ribs are supposed to be fall of the bone but there was a fair bit of gnawing required and the wings were cold. For the amount of time and money squandered, I could have bought all the ingredients, invested an afternoon at my stove and churned out something more appetizing and memorable. 12 hour smoked beef brisket.. hahaha! The meat had spots with that shiny iridescent look of cold cuts about to go bad. I actually think it was just deli sliced roast beef heated up in the microwave.. not fresh cooked in any way. Dry, no jus, no sauce. My expectations weren't high but this was just bad. Beans on the side drowned in sugary ketchupy gunk, flavourless cole slaw. My wife's medium rare steak had been sliced down the side to check for doneness.. really amateur move at a place supposed to be known for steak. Not juicy at all. Bit of an odd interaction with the server when the plates were brought - my brisket (haha! coldcut) plate was missing a cornbread side as advertised on the menu. When asked, the server said that the problem was, the kitchen would have to cook a fresh one if I want one - pause.. like hoping I wouldn't put them to the trouble of cooking one? Of course I say, please go ahead and cook a fresh one then.. and when it came out it was not even warm. They didn't cook it fresh, so were they just hoarding the cornbread hoping no one asks for it? We went on a week night btwn 7pm and 8pm. The place was pretty much empty except for a few tables. The waitress was friendly and suggested a few items we didn't notice on the menu. I think they were daily specials. We ordered our food and just sat there like idiots waiting and waiting and waiting! We simply ordered an appetizer which took forever to get to us and two steak dinners. When the food came it was tasty. The steak was a bit too salty and chewy. Maybe it was the cut we ordered. After dinner we ordered a dessert with ice cream. We waited and waited again for some time before the waitress came out and told us they were out of ice cream. Not cool! How do you run out of ice cream! We skipped dessert and asked for the check...again waiting an unacceptable amount of time. We will not be returning to this place anytime soon. (plus the fact that drinks are served in mason jars...it's one of my pet peeves - ridiculous!) read more

To Montana's Went to the Oakville location last night Tuesday September 5 for my 10y/o daughters birthday(she loves ribs) . Our experience was dissappointing at best. Service was very slow, but server was apologetic and polite so we did not get upset about it . As I mentioned earlier it was Tuesday and my daughters birthday, food was ok, my salad was dripping in salad dressing, my wife's Cob salad was just ok...thought corn is usually in a Cob salad.After dinner, their was no birthday singing, my daughter was lookng forward to it and no complimentary dessert. When bill arrived , kids meals were charged ....Tuesday kids eat free! it's on the wall when you come into the restaurant! How does the server not know this? Or conveniently forgets till its pointed out. I forgot about it and paid the bill. My wife caught the error and told the server . She brought us the cash without tax, oops another mistake "oh sorry about that:". A few minutes later the manager brought the rest of the tax money and dropped it on the table without an apology .I should have asked for some of my tip money back. There are many restaurants in the area, I do not intend on going to any Montana's ever again after this experience. Life is too short to waste my time and money at this restaurant. We are regulars every saturday night on the patio as we are not afraid of the cold and enjoy the great weather. We come for the great service from a great staff, the management are just as great and the food is always at it's best. Makes other expensive places not worth going to after you have eaten here. Always hot, prepared as you like it so much variety in the menu for everyone. A truly great place, great prices and worth trying and i can assure you, you will be back for more !!! Montana's was great! It is an awesome place for a family to go and eat together! The beef brisket sandwich is very good! The thing I did not like about Montana's was that when you order a drink they give it to you in a tiny mason jar with tons of ice and charge you the same price as for example the lonestar would charge you for a drink in a pretty good sized cup.
