COLDEST BEER IN TOWN!!!!! No literally, it had chunks of ice in it. When the beer first came (draught obvy) it looked normal. After a couple minutes when my bf went to take a sip a huge chunk of ice hit him in the tooth and nearly knocked it out of his mouth. It was like the honey I shrunk the kids version of the iceberg that the titanic hit. When I let the waiter know he said it's because the cup was cold to keep the beer cold. I suggested they use a glass slightly less cold so the beer didn't reach the freezing point. He told me to go F&$@ myself and chucked an even colder glass at me! I fell to the ground and he dragged me under the draught taps and started running them all at once and waterboarding me with beer. While I was laying there nearly drowning he took out a shaker and some margarita mix, poured in a bunch of alcohol, and and started dancing around to Latin music while aggressively shaking it really fast and hard. When my boyfriend heard all the commotion he sprinted over to me to find the bar-back trying to shove a jar of maraschino cherries up my a$& with a bottle of bourbon in his other hand. Dixie and Matheson in Mississauga. Great place!!! Beautiful interior with super wide planked hardwood, wooden beams, modern led light signs and posters, exposed stone like facade. Interior is pleasing to the eyes. The noise level was just right to enjoy a meal and have a conversation. They have tasty wings that were crispy even after the sauce is on. Hot sauce was quite spicy. RIbs were dry though. My favourite is the honking beef rib. Great fries crispy and tasty. Tasty corn bread. Comes with coleslaw. This location has efficient service and good noise level. Arrived at 7pm on a Monday. Entered the restaurant, an employee approached us, and proceeded to stand there staring at us. We break the ice by indicating that there are two of us looking to be sat for dinner on the patio. She goes to check the patio, and returns saying there is no room and asked if we would like to sit inside. I replied no thanks, and asked how long the wait would be for a patio table, to which she grabbed menus in a huff and walked back outside, saying she'll "check again". We notice several bored looking employees in the bar area, whom she returns to consult with. She then returns and explains there is a reservation for 6 on the patio in an hour, so as long as we are done by then, we can have that table. We were confused by that answer, she was reacting as if we were demanding a table immediately. As we walked out, one other smaller table left. Within two minutes, two other tables left and were cleared and cleaned. We would have been happy to wait for any of those tables. We were sat in front of one of the speakers blaring a "diverse" mixture of pop country, generic pop music and watered down modern country music. All terrible. The headache it gave me is still here 15 hours later. Whoever is running this place has no understanding of electricity, as crisscrossed extension cords leading to the tv and a hastily installed leaking fountain was clearly not up to any code. With wires passing in and around the water. Wouldn't be surprised to hear this place catches fire and burns down. Just hope no one gets hurt. It took about 5 more minutes to get acknowledged by the server. Ordered drinks and food from her immediately. (Being aware we were the only ones there with an unnecessary time limit".) Waters came out in rough looking plastic cups with all sorts of scuffs and stains, no lemon, no ice. Didn't look or taste clean. Ordered the bbq trio, which is ribs,chicken and shrimp. The portions were comically tiny. Beans were about one fork load. Potato was big enough, but tasted like dirty dish water and was inedible, even smothered in butter and sour cream. Chicken portion was a joke, 1/4 of a breast at most. Shrimp was dry and chewy as hell, as if it had been cooked several hours earlier and stored under a heat lamp or microwaved. Ribs were pretty good actually, sauces were tasty. $26 meal, and after I was done, I was still hungry. My partners veggie burger was good and our server on the patio was nice (clearly new and trying). Our complaints are aimed at the management team and the poor decisions they made on sitting us, being so stingy on the portions and the overall food quality ranging from underwhelming to unacceptable. I felt bad responding on the payment pad a "no" when asked if we would recommend that restaurant based on the experience. I fear the inept management will blame the server, but she had nothing to do with anything we took issue with. 100% responsibility is with mismanagement. My husband was in the mood for BBQ and this was near our hotel. We started with their buffalo chicken wings. On Mondays they are half-price, so we lucked out on that. They were really crunchy. The medium sauce was sweeter than what we are used to, but they were good. The blue cheese wasn't chunky like we are used to either, but it was fine. I ordered the fried chicken with a side salad instead of potatoes, green beans, and gravy on the side. The chicken was crispy and tasty; the green beans slightly undercooked which is just how I like them; the salad fairly standard, although the lettuce seemed a bit old. My husband got the ribs meal with coleslaw and an upgrade to the poutine. The first set of poutine was cold, so we sent it back and got some fresh ones. Now we can say we've tasted poutine! What a unique idea to combine fries, cheese curds, and gravy! The ribs were flavorful and tender, and the sauce very good. Coleslaw was basically vinegar type slaw. Overall, a decent meal. Our server was nice, and I was pleasantly surprised that she got our order right when she hadn't written anything down! She's got a better memory than mine! Just a couple of complaints... Get the ribs! The menu has a lot of delicious sounding things but why do they need to publish the calories??? Once I saw the calories, it took forever for me to decide. I tried the ribs that the bartender recommended as they are known for BBQ. Boy was he right! They were soooo good & I loved the salad & coleslaw that came with it. The quality of our mains was what is expected from Montana's however my ribs were more burnt then braised. Thank goodness for free wifi as we needed to google their kids menu - even then we were ordering blind as the prices were not listed. My take, this location survives Monday to Friday for the day crowd. Beyond that, they crash and burn. As I suggested, the staff hunted from a children's menu and turned up with dust balls. My team at work isn't great at making restaurant suggestions. My task was to book time for us to celebrate a software release that we have been slaving away over for six months. I asked for suggestions and got nothing. Luckily, my manager came up with a few. We went with Montana's for our team lunch. I haven't been to one in years. This one is about a five-minute drive from our office. We were a group of six. It wasn't too busy. I didn't bother making a reservation. The lunch specials are nice. I love mac and cheese. The downside to this lunch special was that it was served with a side Caesar salad. I wasn't in the mood for it. I asked our server if I could swap it out for a house salad. Yes! I love versatility. So, my mac and cheese had bacon and spiral pasta. So good! I had contemplated getting the regular portion, but I'm glad that I went with the lunch special. The side salad made me feel like I was eating something healthy... ha! You can get chorizo sausage with this mac and cheese. I opted not to. The bacon was good enough for me. I loved the cornbread. It was yummy, warm, and perfect. I ordered a Diet Pepsi to wash everything down. I liked the mason jar. Service was fast and friendly. The bill came promptly. For the last 24 hours I've been bedridden and unable to eat. So unless you're a glutton for punishment, or looking for an extreme weight loss solution, I would avoid this place at all costs. Everytime I walk in to Montana's for alcoholia (Mississauga has limited number of bars, so oh well...), I share some anecdote with my friends about how awful their food is! And my friends usually have a few similar ones... I've never had worse meatloaf. You can taste the fact that it's frozen and refrozen over weeks and then cooked. Terrible. Visited the 401-Dixie location on a weekday for a team lunch. I'm glad we had a reservation, this place gets busy. We were a group of 11 people and we enjoyed our time there. After we were seated our server(Sarah), introduced herself and took the drinks order. The drinks were served quickly and then another server came and took our orders for the food. This guy seemed more experienced. He really handled all the crazy requests very well. The food took really long to come out, which wasn't a surprise as they got the food for the entire table, out at the same time instead of bringing it out in batches. On our table, I ordered a veggie burger, it was a bit expensive($14) but tasted good and was huge in size, someone else ordered a chorizo flatbread and he was happy with it too. Another friend got the SmokeHouse Wrap and said it was a steal for that price. He absolutely loved it. Overall, good place to hangout with friends. Staff is very welcoming and also very attentive. I had potato skins, Chicken wings (hot), ribs (apple butter bbq sauce) a caesar salad and slaw. I'm telling you rn, for the sauces and the vibe in there alone, they already have 4 stars. BUT THE CHICKEN WINGS?!? Instant bump up to the 5. Its depressing that most folks do not know how to cook a wing with great crunch factor and juiciness within, but these folks? Killed it! Best wings I've had in a long time. All of the sauces are delicious, their homemade hot sauce I am secretly hoping to take home tm . Its pretty spicy but packed with flavor, and it's unique. Came here for a quick lunch this afternoon. Their claim to fame is that they will prepare your lunch in 15 minutes ! (Ooooooh Ahhhhhhhh) Food was a-ok. We ordered the platter. For $12.99, we got a mixture of apps including potato skins, garlic cheese bread, and Montana's spinach dip. Service was ok. It took a while for the server to come to our table, but after she noticed us, the service improved drastically. We got refills on our drinks without even having to ask. That's impressive. I couldnt stop laughing at the size of them. Fred flinstones style dinosaur ribs. Very tender and chargrilled flavor. I had the pot roast n yorkshire pudding. I was curious about the yorkshire pudding. Never tried them before. I guess it was like a really big cream puff : ) not bad but I still prefer a good biscuit. My parents and I came to this restaurant because it was right around the corner from the hotel we were staying at. Back in our hometown we have a couple restaurants that resemble the look of this one and we thought why not try it out. We came in, ordered and WOW was it great. Ribs and Chicken Wings were amazing, one of the best coleslaw my mom has had and she's a big critic on her slaw.. I personally got potato skins, it's like a go to meal ya know. Blown away! I thought this place was good, especially when you compare it to American chains like Applebee's or TGI Friday's. I was visiting from Boston with my family and we stopped in here for dinner, not really knowing where else to eat or even what kind of place this was. It's decorated kind of like a hunting lodge, with big wooden tables and plaid shirt-wearing waitstaff. It was almost empty, so we were seated immediately. Our waiter Mark was extremely friendly and struck up a conversation with us when he learned we were from out of town. He gave us a few recommendations of where to go and what to do in Toronto, where we would be visiting the next day. I ordered the fish tacos, which ended up being really good and significantly better than I was expecting. The fish was probably frozen, but the ailoi and other toppings on the tacos were so fresh and flavorful it made up for it. The fries were good too--crispy and well seasoned.
