We arrived at 6:30pm on Friday night. It was not too busy. More like families around, some tables were couples. We ordered this special. The shared App was Four Cheese Spinach dips, we chose the baked chips. Pretty good portion. The mains we got Alfredo Pasta with choice of Shrimp. Reasonable portion, cheesy and tasty, but original price was $19.99. Another main was Mediterranean Salmon (extra $4 for this dish), it was rice at the bottom and cooked Salmon. I like cooked fish, not fishy. Let's do it. We love that. The shared dessert was a piece of white chocolate cheesecake with choice of dark Chocolate or caramel on the top. It was too sweet for us. I don't often get to see a lot of old friends these days, especially since the start of the pandemic a few years ago. It's always good to get caught up with them, especially over a good meal. I recently went to Kelseys with a friend I met through work almost 28 years ago. Over the years, we've enjoyed a good friendship, played a few rounds of golf, and shared quite a few good meals. They also have a great selection of drinks. I had the Blue Lemonade - asked them to skip the shaved ice, and it tasted pretty good. The service was nice, and the space was clean and chill. I will say I've been to this Kelsey's many times and I'm very disappointed. I came with my friend's family for a lunch out. Walk in and was greeted very polite and that's really where the good experience ends. The waitress was the ONLY thing that was good about this experience. Firstly, it was slow so I'd expect faster service which we didn't get. And that's not the waitress fault, thats the management didn't properly staff the restaurant. Now on to the food, which honestly was WORST part of the experience. First the appetizer which was the spinach dip had hair in it. Thankful the waitress did get us a new one but the wait was long and we were already done our other appetizers. Then we got our main meals and I was disgusted with the price and portion of the food. I ordered a chicken fried chicken and got the beautiful big plate but what I saw was horrible. I had mashed potatoes and veggies with it and I was flabbergasted with what they put on my plate one scoop of mashed potatoes, one big piece of broccoli with a few tiny pieces and a small piece of chicken. Now I don't like to complain but I work in a restaurant myself and I know the proper way of portioning food on a plate. Which this was just wrong. I push it all together and it wasn't even half a plate of food altogether, the cost of it was $20.99. $21 for lest then half a plate. That is just disgraceful. I spoke to the manager and explained if the food was on a different size plate I probably wouldn't have been as mad. He had a rude attitude on his face and asked if I wanted anything else. I explain I have an allergy to onion so this is honestly one of the few thing I can eat of the menu and then he just repeat what would you like and I just said nothing thank you. But the worst part was as I left a new server had came in and walked over to my friend telling them that they over stayed and need to leave because they need the table. She told me after I had left good thing to because I would have been asking for name and number to call. For an empty restaurant really nobody should be rudely rushed out ever. Overall horrible experience. I'm disgusting and disappointed with the total out come of the lack of respect towards the customers with the staff here. After going to a nearby entertainment centre, we walked into this establishment around lunch hour. It was surprisingly not that busy, and we were seated immediately. The decor and atmosphere is calming, it's very comfortable and the space in the booths is good for a party of four people, in comparison to other restaurants. Our server, Victoria, was a wonderful server, and absolute sweetheart. They took our drink orders and in less than a few minutes we received them. When ordering our meals, they answered all our questions regarding the sides and substitutions, and overall was very friendly and understanding. Our meals were delicious and only took 15 minutes to arrive, they were hot and full of flavour. I rarely ever scrape my plate clean, but with this meal, it's quality in terms of price was very good. I had ordered the Lemon Pepper salmon with rice and broccoli, the sauce that is added beside the salmon (I believe it was a basil sauce) was a wonderful combination with the lemon zest. It wasn't just my meal that was pleasant, as the other members at my table each ate their meals with content. When we asked for boxes for our remaining food, Victoria had done something I never see server do, when giving us the boxes, they had given us the small plastic lids for the quesadilla sauces, so they wouldn't spill, which was highly appreciated. :) Overall if you're in a small party or with family, I'd highly recommend this establishment to relax and enjoy a filling meal. read more

Scarborough location: Food has always been good but there is no effort to ask guests that are being too loud to be considerate of other guests and bring down the volume. When I went there, the staff was on the phone and it was taking long because probably people were ordering things more complicated. The staff was working hard to take correct orders. I was there to order, so it was much easy for her. I was waiting for foods outside and it took 15 min. It was not bad. She gave us gravy for fries even though I did not order. It was nice of her because their gravy was good. I had chicken thigh fried and it costs $12 without any vegetable or side order. It was a kind expensive, but chickens were very good. We arrived around 230 pm and it was not busy at all. There might have been 10 people total there. We ordered drinks and mine came around 10 minutes later. We were not impressed. The server was friendly but did not really offer any suggestions or let us know of the lunch specials. Two of us, a party of 4 as it was my birthday, ordered steak and the only offer was sirloin which I am not really a fan of. My 5 oz bacon wrapped was 24.99 but they charged extra for the loaded baked potato and the only vegetable was steamed broccoli which was overcooked. The loaded potato was sub-standard with no sign of cheese and the toppings were sparse. One of our party ordered steak fajitas so I used some of his cheese that came with his order. He had no complaints about his order but he did comment that the lettuce did not taste right so he avoided it. None of our sirloin steaks were tender but mine came perfectly medium rare. By the way our meals came 30 minutes later despite the restaurant having very few patrons. I mentioned several times to the server that it was my birthday and only when I pointed out that my dessert was free did she agree never letting me know of that special. There was no offer of ice water until we asked and there was no refill of my friend's ice tea. My friend has a 100.00 gift card and with my alcoholic beverage the final charge was close to 180.00 with no apps and I was the only patron who had dessert. We regretted not choosing East Side Mario's where we could get free bread and salad with our entree. There was no offer of bread or even a dinner roll along with our steaks! My dad ordered a chicken sandwich which comes as a half and literally...we counted...6 onion rings. I got a chicken burger and fries...mediocre fries. Burger was good. It's getting really pathetic that shrinkflation is a thing. Charge people more, give less quantity and less quality. Eating out is becoming expensive and not worth it. This is a regular once a month stop for my wife and I. Avoiding the cold rainy Halloween night we came in to have some appys. 8 pm was the perfect time, as we got a discount on the spinach dip for "Happy Hour" Fish tacos and 1/2 order of nachos with beef chili. Shared these among 10 people. Then had 4 different flavors for wings, Apple butter Bbq, Sea salt & black pepper, honey garlic and Sweet & spicy thai chili. I'm a massive fan of burgers. The craving hit one day and we decided to have dinner here and - surprise! - i got a burger. Or I guess what they were passing off as a burger. The patties were burnt, thin and almost half the size of the bun. I dont know what the cook was thinking letting that thing out of the kitchen. The bartender would run in, make some drinks for the rest of the place, then run out to deliver food, then back in. I got the rib and wing combo, and the Hubster got some chicken wrap. He really really enjoyed his chicken wrap and I was pretty happy with my meal. The ribs were fall off the bone, and pretty tasty, and the wings were actually spicy, but a little soggy. The cajun kettle chips were pretty good. The bar area was a good spot to watch a couple of football games during dinner. Altogether, it was your regular Kelsey's experience. I've eaten here several times in the last 6 months, and always order the Tuscan Salad which was amazing..the 1st time! The 2nd time onward there has been something wrong / missing from the salad each time I order it. Burnt chicken, missing ingredients, no dressing (comes pre-dressed), wrong dressing. The last and final visit was a girls-night, our server was awkward and kept leaning into our faces to talk. Leaning into the table edge, pressing the front of his dirty jeans against the salt/pepper shakers, put his hand on the rim of our glasses, was slow and forgetful. Kelsey's is a place that you crave until you go and remember why you vowed, the last time, never to return. The menu changes often offering dishes that are unusual but crave worthy. Some of the menu staples are always reliable. Such as, my favourite, the four-cheese spinach dip with baked pita chips. Last night, for a main entree, I had their gluten-free tomato basil penne. Slightly heavy on the sauce but made with fresh goat cheese and spinach. Good enough to eat but not overeat. For dessert, their featured deep-fried Twinkie was disappointing. Not only was it tasteless but I missed that crunch that comes with breaking the fried batter outer shell. My pal had their PB&J brownie sundae (which is big enough for 2-3 people to share) and was underwhelmed by the combination of flavours. Their drink menu is varied and has crave-worthy choices but the drinks, themselves are unreliable. My pal ordered the same drink twice and received two very different products. They only had 1 server to cater the entire left side of the restaurant, we had to ask several times to get our water, and obviously no refills were provided for our soft drinks. I ordered the Chicken fettuccine, and the creamy sauce wasn't what I expected. It was mixed with a bit of green in the sauce, and the fettuccine wasn't that great either. There was minimal chicken in the pasta, I had to dig for it. The appetizers were average. Was excited to try this out. We went on a weekday. Ordered spinach dip for appetizer which came fairly quickly. Then the server forgot to take our orders for our main dishes and that increased our wait time for our food as well to about more than 15 mins. I ordered the Amaze-balls burger with the mac and cheese filling which i didn't think had as much flavour. My sister ordered butter chicken and that was pretty good. 8 of our Family decided to drop in for a Sunday lunch without a reservation. I was a bit worried but they made us up a table real fast and even let us use another table for more room. The Big What burger dissappeared, which made me sad. However, the grilled cheese sandwich was tasty mostly due to the bread they use (ACE bakery); the messy fish sandwich was a yummy break from meat. It was actually quite a easy going Saturday night when me and my girlfriend came in. We were seated near one of the big screens in the dining area. England and Italy were playing. Our server was very, very nice and tentative. We started off the night with a whopping plate of Kelsey's Wonton Nachos ($13.99), honestly, they were heavenly!!! It came with two dipping sauces (sour cream and salsa), the wonton wrappers were deep-fried then seasoned with some sort of spicy cheesy powder before getting slathered with chunks of beef, lettuce, tomato, and nacho cheese sauce. God it was so good. For our individual meals, I got the Cracked Peppercorn Burger with sweet potato fries ($14.79), the burger came with a big hulking knife to hold it together with two extra crispy onion rings on top. I was grateful for that knife because I couldn't even pick the burger up without it falling apart. The burger itself, is a monster, 2 burger patties with a slice of swiss cheese on each, 1 slice lettuce and 2 slices of tomato, condiments (ketchup, mustard & relish) came on the side. The sweet potato fries were delicious and it came with a spicy mayo dipping sauce. My girlfriend got the chicken fingers ($13.99) with regular fries, gravy and coleslaw as sides. The chicken fingers were breaded and deep-fried to perfection. The chicken fingers came with plum sauce that actually tasted homemade instead of store bought. Service was really quick and effective. Our server checked up on us quite often, even asked us if we needed anything and at the end, even asked if we wanted dessert, but sadly we were way too, too full to eat anymore. So we decided to try Kelsey's and we were glad we did. Fast service on a crowded Saturday night had us at our table in no time and our orders within minutes. We enjoyed traditional roadhouse food like calamari and potato skins for appetizers that were better than expected, and a nice burger and fries and a steak sandwich for entrees. Everything was cooked the way we'd asked and the portions were larger than we'd expected, which is a good thing. The place was clean (especially the washrooms), the staff were friendly and efficient, the televisions plentiful enough to catch the game, the beer cold and the food pretty good.
