Yes, I have had to wait on hold, but never for 15 minutes and if someone sounds short or rude, maybe they are very busy or just having a bad day. Something most of us have had once or twice, I am sure. I mostly use "My Chart" to communicate with my doctor and the office. "My Chart" is a wonderful tool to use for non-emergency communication with your doctor. Try a little kindness!

I saw 2 different providers and needless to say I was not at all happy with the care I received. So the search continued... I had my first appointment with Dr. Marie Monticciolo in Rocky Hill yesterday. I felt that I needed to complete a review for the entire process, start to finish. From the time I called to schedule my appointment until the time I scheduled my next appointment was completely fabulous!! The staff at the desk were SO friendly. Dr. Marie Monticciolo also was so friendly... and knowledgeable...and thorough! She took me into her office first, and went through all of my active diagnoses and medications... then took me across the hall to the exam room and did a full assessment. I needed to make a follow up appointment per her request for something she was concerned about. She gave me some papers I'd need from her to have a few things done like blood work, and I was on my way!! The appointment took about an hour and I sincerely feel positive! She made me extremely comfortable and listened to!! I would highly recommend her to anyone whose looking for a PCP. A+ from office staff to Dr. Marie Monticciolo !!! Both her and her…read morehusband (Richard Monticciolo, MD) run an internal medicine practice where one on one patient care is not seen as an inconvenience but as an integral part of their treatment philosophy. Prior to initiating treatment with Dr. Monticciolo, I was treated with several physicians through Hartford Medical Group. However, I was finding it increasingly hard to get an appointment, and once I did I found that I spent longer in the waiting room than actually having a consult with my physician. Many times I was not even seen by an M.D. but his or her PA. Regardless of who saw me, half the appointment was spent reviewing my medical history before getting to why I was actually there. I felt that I was a co-pay and not a patient and upon that realization I knew it was time for a change. Since I have begun to see Dr. Monticciolo, I have ALWAYS been treated by her. The practice is small (just her and her husband) and there is not a lot of frills to their office. You will not find your medical records stored electronically or fancy diagnostic tools, but what you will find is a doctor that knows her patients, is willing to talk (yes - talk) with them in her office before the examination, and refer you to another physician if she feels it is necessary. My medical records may be handwritten but I know that they have all been meticulously written by Dr. Monticciolo who - from the routine wellness visit to more serious matters - will give me sound medical advice and excellent patient care.

He is caring, kind, shows concern, knowledgeable and does not make your time with him feel rushed in any way. They will accept you as a Medicare patient with secondary Medicaid until they run your insurance…read moretwo hours before your appointment and discover you have QMB and drop you like a hot potato because they are MONEY DRIVEN. Despite the fact that they accept Medicare they don't want QMB patients because that prevents them from billing that 20%! Therefore that's when they will then call you and point out they "don't accept Medicaid" even though Medicare is PRIMARY! Sounds like a provider I would not want to see, anyway if they care that much about money over a person's well being! Very unethical and disappointing.

The doctors and nurses are very competent. The office staff is friendly and attentive. They have assisted me with diabetes management, diagnosis of myomas, and my pregnancy. I continue to go to this practice, my husband joined, and now my son is also a patient. This is a great office for families with young children.

I'm not happy with her, now I know that she could never fill Dr Brenza's shoes but she waisted my visit in my opinion I don't feel as though I had a check up ...but a look over a touch here and there a question here and there. Dr Weiss did not respond to my pharmacist request for additional information. I went through my patient portal and the LPN answers but the LPN can not give the pharmacist what they need so it becomes a back n forth thing mind you I'm still off of my regular meds. Dr Weiss has not answered me as of yet and it's been awhile. The response I got from the LPN was ...well you're going to have to call and find out what med you can change too. I'm not happy and I'm currently looking up other doctors. Dr Weiss is not for me and I'm not sending my kids to her either.

I drove to this address and parked expecting to go into the huge building with the sign "Middlesex…read moreHealth" on the top of the building. You'd think that the building with the gigantic logo on top would be the correct one. I lost just enough time in the confusion of new construction that by the time I went next door to the unmarked building with no Middlesex Hospital logo, I was too late and was considered a no show. When I told them what happened they said they wouldn't reschedule because I was considered a no show for being 10 minutes late whilst lost in the "Middlesex Hospital" building next door. Give me a break.
