I grew up playing in their North Smithfield location but now have joined a co-ed night league at…read morethis location. It is very easy to get to as it is almost right off 95. There is ample parking and all of it is close to the building. There are bathrooms on the first floor, as well as their office for any information, and a bubbler for fresh water. There are tables, chairs, and a bar upstairs. Games can be watched from the first-floor benches, but upstairs is a far better view. There are four fields (divided by strong curtains) which are multi-purpose for all the sports they offer; despite that, the different lines are not distracting. The fields are well maintained, with maybe only one divot/hole at a time but they're usually marked and fixed quickly. Each field is labeled and equipped with a clock that makes an audible sound when time expires. They have different leagues for lots of different age groups and are fairly priced; I believe do rent out space for practices. The temperature is very comfortable when playing and lighting is okay.

There were some rides but they were broken and not plugged in. The kids enjoyed them anyway. We then moved to the party room for pizza and cupcakes. The pizza was surprisingly tasty. The cupcakes were brought from outside so I can't review them for long plex. Beyond all that there is a ton of sports courts, a raised running track and showers in the bathroom that I didn't use. While nowadays almost any mid-level trader or PR twentysomething has a share house in the Hamptons during the summer months, it's only a certain kind of family that owns out east. And within that already ultra exclusive club, there are only a certain echelon that belong to the private beach clubs stretching along the white sand beaches on the Eastern edges of this long island. Fortunately for me, I managed to meet a few of these fancy folks and through their generosity I gained access to the notoriously snooty and closed access golf compound and private family club in East Hampton. The Maidstone is one of the oldest golf clubs in the east and boasts an 18-hole course. Since I'm more beach bum than caddy shacker, I indulged in the water sports and beach cafe on my visit. The cold bar offers made-to-order salads freshly chopped before your eyes. The grill had some tantalizing sandwiches and burgers, but again being a private club you can only dine here with a member so leave the cash at home. The private beach is perfectly serene, complete with chairs and umbrellas ready for a day of lounging while the massive pool seemed more family friendly with children splashing away. Be sure to order up a signature Maidstone cocktail (basically a rich man's Long Island Iced Tea) and check out the upper deck views of the Atlantic and surrounding beach. The clubhouse itself is nice, classy and pure Hamptons style. We didn't really meet anyone new, and the only diversity you'll find is in the kitchen. It's clear that families have been coming out here for generations and they are wary of strange faces. It was fun to live like the 1% for a day, but in the end I think I prefer a sandy day brown-bagging it in the Rockaways. For those looking for a more exclusive experience, and some of the world best golf spots, then perhaps you can wiggle your way in here.

It definitely toughens them up while teaching discipline and respect. The owners are extremely nice people. It is family owned and operated. It is pretty expensive to send both children but luckily our town wrestling is wonderful and paid half for the summer (my older son wrestling for highschool this year, younger wrestles for the town). As much as they love attending it's not really affordable to send both kids year round (they also practice jiu jitsu at another place). It is located in Coventry now so it's a bit of a drive as well. Overall if you can afford it, it's a great place.

Mayo Quanchi is a Judo and Wrestling club that teaches far beyond the skills of these sports. It's…read morea family. The coaches and students push each other and embrace the disciplines within martial arts as a Judoka and life skills that are instilled in the kids from a young age. The classes are filled and anyone is welcome. You can join with zero experience and will be warmly welcomed. The owners Sensei Serge Boyssou his wife Liz are two incredible people who have changed the lives of so many especially by getting kids off the street and providing them a safe environment to grow. I joined this club at 16 when I was new to judo and only had wrestling experience. There are a ton of female athletes in the club that has never been divided or discriminated. The minute you step in the met gender disappears and you respect your opponent and protect them. Katelyn their daughter runs most of the classes and is an extremely accomplished judoka and wrestler. Many of the students compete and travel frequently. There is a long list of accomplishments that come from this club. Serge always has seminars and camps and in the physical sense you could never get a better workout. There's also a Weight room in the back. Serge goes over and beyond for all of his students and will give you the shirt off his back if you put the time in. This truly is an amazing special place that made me a million times better person, I wouldn't trade the lessons I've learned here physically and mentally for anything. I highly recommend !

Stopped in recently and was shocked by how poorly the place is run. I witnessed a member of…read moremanagement yelling at a patron over text messages that weren't even sent by them--completely unprofessional and bizarre behavior. The courts are crammed together with no divider nets, making play feel chaotic and unsafe. On top of that, the bathrooms were pretty disgusting. Apparently, the toilets can't be flushed when people are using the showers? That's just bad design and worse upkeep. There are plenty of other clubs along the shoreline with better facilities and far more respectful management. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

I've never seen a gym as crowded as it was today, granted it is the holidays. Front desk told me they sell day passes which contributed to the volume of patrons. It was so crowded, I literally turned around and left. I can't imagine what January is going to look like. Lastly, a number of the members have no gym etiquette at all. Many times standing around monopolizing equipment, sometimes dancing or wrestling with each other while others are waiting to use machines. Too bad, this could be great.

It was just too many low class people posing on Instagram and Facebook instead of going there for the experience of exercising and being healthy. What they need to do is charge a lot more for a membership. This will encourage people that are good quality to come in the low quality people will stop coming there. They also need to hire people that will go around in the locker rooms and tell people not to be on their cell phones I also had a one personal training session with a girl who really knew nothing about what she was doing. She called herself a personal trainer, but she really knew nothing. Additionally, she kind of discouraged me after I said that I was using the all women's area which now has to have men there because the place got sued for not allowing men there which is a whole Nother story . anyway she said that the machines in the wall women's section weren't a complete circuit and she discouraged me even though I was making a lot of strides doing that. I thought that was really bad, especially since she's a personal trainer. Those are all the reasons I left that place not to mention the fact that they rope you into a contract and make it virtually impossible to get out of it.

I recently started playing indoor soccer here on Sundays. They have a women's league with a decent…read moreamount of teams. The soccer fields are under a big bubble. Instead of walls around the field, they are separated by curtains/netting. The field is big enough for 5 players and a goalie each side. Some of the teams play with 6, which I guess is an option, but it gets way too crowded. The refs are pretty fair, but the facility is a little dirty/dingy. All of the ladies on my team are armed with anti-bac in their soccer bags. They also seem a little disorganized with the scheduling. We've had last minute changes in scheduled games three times in two sessions. A little annoying when everyone is trying to plan their Sunday.

In addition to self training, SnapDragon offers individual and group lessons. They have top-notch trainers and can help improve your (or child's) game. Owner of the SnapDragon is hands on and is always available assisting and coaching. Never had a bad experience at the facility. More over, SnapDragon hosts competitive Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) youth baseball teams and the facility can be scheduled for birthday parties.
