It is currently 56 minutes past my "appointment time" and I'm STILL waiting to be seen. They do this EVERY SINGLE TIME and to A LOT (if not MOST) of their patients. This clinic is in clear violation of basic standards of care and possibly even patient rights. They need to be investigated by the department of justice and have criminal charges filed against them. Every single time I come here, I'm forced to wait at least ONE FULL HOUR past my scheduled "appointment" time--and I'm not the only one. This is a constant issue for every patient I see waiting alongside me. People have other jobs, responsibilities, and commitments, and this blatant disregard for our time is unacceptable. I went for my yearly exam with PA Ocampo on March 24th, at the Norwalk facility. I felt rushed during my appointment. In the past, PA Ocampo would sit down to discuss my health and answer questions, which made me feel cared for and reassured. This time she didn't. I said, "Will you call me when you get the results?" PA Ocampo responded, "Ok." I waited and finally called the clinic on April 10th to speak with the receptionist to get my lab results, since I hadn't received them yet. PA Ocampo called that evening and still didn't give me my results after I asked if I could write down the information. Instead, she responded, "Do you want the results emailed or texted?" My usual procedure is to write down the info while the PA is on the line, since I'm not comfortable using the patient portal. I'm old school. All that was said during PA Ocampo's phone conversation was, "Your cholesterol is high." That was it, no explanation, no specific number, nothing. I said, " I need anxiety medication," and she said, "I think you do too." I was thinking, why didn't she prescribe or tell me that I needed it during the office visit on March 24th? Now, it was April 10th. In addition, when I asked about my referral for my Mammogram, PA Ocampo responded, "Remember, I told you not until May." I responded, "I know it's April." Later that week, I asked my friend if she could help me retrieve my results from the patient portal because it had already been about three weeks, and I hadn't received any information regarding my lab results other than that I had high cholesterol. When we read my lab results, my glucose was in red with an H, and the number was high. This shows that I am pre-diabetic. And my cholesterol was high, my triglycerides were high, and my A1c was high, with no clarification. My lab results comparing 2025 to 2026 were worse, with no explanation from PA Ocampo, even after I watched my diet and exercise regularly. I am frustrated, anxious, and confused. My new medication was texted within minutes of my request, but why are there still no lab results? I wish there had been more thorough discussion and explanation during my visit to help me feel more cared for and confident in my care. read more

Called the clinic, waited on the phone for 15 mins, someone finally answered & sent me the new address. Don't ever go to this clinic or make them you primary physician! The front desk girls are extremely rude and unprofessional. This medical group will treat you like trash. The doctors are great but their staff is horrible. Esmeralda, is one of the employees, at the clinic. She informed me that I couldn't see the provider because I came in past the 10 min grace period. I then told her I spoke with someone from the office and they said it was OK and they understood why I was gonna be late. So I asked to speak with the person who said it was ok to still come in, Esmeralda told me that would not be possible because all of their calls go through a call center. I was upset and confused. I had now paid for two separate Ubers to get me there and I wasn't even able to see my physician so after leaving I tried calling them and they answered and Esmeralda told me oh there is no call center and I said ma'am when I was in there, you said all phone is routed to the call center now you're telling me there is no call center. It was humiliating and embarrassing and just a waste of money I spent so much on an Uber getting out there and then she hung up on me and then she spoke over me and she was very rude and very unprofessional. Waiting an hour only to be informed that I couldn't get what I came for was a complete waste of time. My experience at the clinic was terrible. I had made an appointment to get a booster shot for a vaccine series, but I was told I couldn't get it there. Instead, I would have to be prescribed the shot and go to a pharmacy to get it administered. The operator assured me this was possible, as I had specifically requested the shot. I also go to the Whittier location if they don't have any appointments available in the Norwalk office. very disappointed i made a circumcision appointment for a new born on 10/14 and oct 28 they told me they over booked gave me referral they are fully booked i can't get another appointment because they don't have anything available a new born is only able to get circumcision only this location within 30 days they told me i should called different places for circumcision for a new mom to have choose the doctor based on being a pedestrian and been able to do the procedure then been told they can't do it because someone else mistake and tell you to call elsewhere where exactly. so disappointed. i never experience this before but this just reminder do you research choosing a place for your child to see a pediatrician. read more

I normally go here for my son. Today i called to try and make a appointment since i just got out the hospital from being admitted to ER for kidney infection and verge of sepsis. They did not want to make an appointment. I mentioned how i have not ssseen a dr in almost 10yrs and that technically medical has me assigned to a dr but again i havent seen one in almost 10yrs. I do not consider myself having one because of this. It is basically just a name on a file. I have no idea where the office is and told all this to receptionist. She advised me to call medical and wait until things were transferred and if i hurried then i wouldnt need to wait a month basically. This is infuriating because i almost died a week go and was only trying to listed to the ER dr and make an appointment to be seen. I figured why not by a place that is trust with my son whom has tourrettes. I am now considering changing his dr as well as a result of this. When you call them hold wait times can be long. Depending on who you speak too on the phone they can be rude when you call. I called to ask if they offered COVID vaccines awhile back and the person seemed angry I even asked. Today I phoned to asked if some lab orders might be emailed to me rather than snail mailed? The person wasn't friendly about my inquiry. At the end of the call I said ok, thank you, and I was abruptly hung up on. No have a nice day or anything else we can help you with? Another problem I believe is labs are treated here. If a lab is within a normal range there is no further need for further examination, according to many providers here. Labs can be within range and can be high normal or low normal. This can be misleading because there generally is an optimal range for most people when it comes to lab results. The result can be within range but not an optimal level for that person. Both labs and symptoms need to be looked at. I don't think they are purposely mistreating patients. I don't think they have the time to spend on each patient. I'm thinking of just paying out of pocket and going somewhere else. read more

One of the worst doctors office I have been to. Given the fact that it's a "medical" group it lacks a lot. They lack customer service. They do not prioritize patients. The front desk staff is very friendly however, once you step into the back everyone is in a bad mood and rude. The medical assistants look like they are forced to work there. The PA rushed through our exam and at the end didn't ask if we had questions, we had to tell her that we had questions as she was walking out the door. The MA told us one thing she noticed that needed medical attention and when we mentioned it to the PA she went back to confront the MA and came back to basically make it seem like we were lying. A lot of tension between the staff and very unprofessional. For over a year we have requested that they obtain medical records from another facility and till this day they have failed to do so. Now for sanitation, when entering the office it looked like it hasn't been cleaned. It looked dusty. The front of the office did not look like an medical office. The place needed a lot off repairs. Once in the room we noticed that the pillow case hasn't been changed and we were the first patients of the morning. The room was very small and also needed repairs. When seen by our provider they did NOT wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before and after our visit. Unfortunately because of our medical group we have to stick to this PCP. It's sad to see that they are partners with PIH because they do not compare at all in any way. read more

I have known Dr. Alejandro Montes for a period of 10 years now. My daughter was a patient of his and now my son is as well. I have always like the service Dr. Montes provide, the details he provides in each visit, however, it has been with time now that him and his staff are very disrespectful towards their patient's time. It is very upsetting that as patients, we are expected to keep and arrive to an appointment on time, however, as providers, they do not hold the same respect to us by keeping up with those appointment times. It has been time after time now that my son's appointment is delayed, drastically. I can understand a delay of 10, 15, 20 minutes but to have to wait 1 HOUR (without exaggeration) is just absurd, ridiculous and disrespectful. The worse part of all is that even after formal complaints, nothing is done about it!! Nor the medical staff, office staff or Dr. Montes himself care to even improve their service. No patient and/or parent should have to deal with this. There are WAY better doctors and offices out there. I do not plan to ever return to any of his offices!! read more

I gave 1 star because I couldn't give negative stars. I can write a novel but basically I DON'T recommend this place at all. I never met Dr Montes nor Dr Tran in the 3 plus years with them. I would go to the Norwalk office although I live in Whittier due to their lack of organization , be ready to spend hours waiting to be seen. I would specifically ask for Nichelle Nurse Practitioner, she is great. Dr Eastman (Norwalk office) treats patients and her staff the same, HORRIBLE! I was 1 minute late so couldn't be seen. I had surgery 3 weeks prior and took a Uber . I am now in the process to find a doctor that actually cares what she/he about patients and treats staff professionally . I did try to make a appointment prior to surgery as I had a very high fever and didn't know what was happening. Went to ER and had a emergency surgery. I've seen many of the providers here at the Montes group. I have had nothing but great experiences from them all. Dr Campo and Dr Macintosh are my favorite!!! I also really like Dr Tran he is very honest and thorough. I feel like I'm in excellent hands with these 3 outstanding Doctors. Worst damn clinic I have been to in my life! Went for a damn prescription for medication that I'm already on. I'm on this medication thanks to another doctor. They gave me such a hard time because according the them they needed to do more tests in order for me to be on it. The other doctor didn't do all that but okay. Milk the insurance money and make me come in, it's cool. I leave my job early and get to the appoint on time. The waiting room is full. I waited like an hour and 15 mins before I finally asked them how much longer it was going to take. I had to be at my second job in 30 minutes. The receptionists in the front had that retail attitude where they just look at their computer screen and don't make eye contact. They simply speak sideways as I talk to them. The only solution they provided was for me to reschedule or to wait. I waited another 15 mins and I was finally called. I asked the medical assistant how long they were going to take because I needed to leave soon and he said it was going to take longer than 30 mins. So I decided to leave without seeing the doctor. They didn't return my co pay because the billing department had left for the day. They said they would return my call to confirm the refund but that is yet to be seen. Here it's totally different they take you in RIGHT AWAY, i don't even have time to finish my paperwork by the time they call me in lol. i really recommend him & his other DRs, they are very knowledgeable and they don't over fill guests in. i've only gone about 3-4 times but i look forward for him being my son's pediatrician read more

First they don't always walk ins so when my kids got sick they couldn't be seen till like a week later . Every-time you call the office you'll be placed on hold for a very long time its crazy because I've called and walked in and it's not even that busy what are they doing that they can't answer the phone? I had my 3 sons here and after some emergencies and not being able to get through to anyone I switched all 3 of them now that they're at a new doctor they always answer the phone within minutes it wasn't until i switched that i realized it wasn't normal to be on hold for 20 minutes sometimes longer! Unfortunately I'm stuck at montes medical because I haven't found a doctor that will take me and I'm actually writing this review while I'm on hold with montes just to make an appointment and I've already been on hold for 15 minutes and they been like this for years! Awesome staff at this location! My whole family comes here for care and we are always looked after. The staff is super friendly and very informative. I really like how there are many doctors and nurse practitioners that you can see; so if a doctor is booked you have the option of seeing someone else. Also, they don't accept walk ins but they have an awesome clinic called Be Well it's like an urgent care. At the Be Well clinic they have all your info since it's part of the Montes Medical Group. All in all this is an awesome location to come here in Norwalk and like I mentioned before their system works way better than many other doctor offices. read more

I prefer the Whittier office. It's awkward to be in the waiting room with my preschooler while Law and Order: SVU is on their TV with an episode about an incestuous father. My husband tried to make his appointment online but it dropped him without advance notice or rescheduling because he was a newer patient than whoever he was double booked with. They eventually tried to make it up to him by giving him an appointment the day after he confronted the staff in person. Thanks for reading my TB test so I didn't have to go to the Whittier office, but it would have been nice if you could have bothered to also input my name and birthdate on the immunization record form I have to submit (having to hand write this doctors' office name makes it seem less official). read more
