First let me say that this salon is FANTASTIC!!!!!! I have been to many salons, some good, some very good, and some that shouldn't be allowed to profess their expertise in this field whatsoever! I moved to this side of the state almost 2 years ago and have searched high and low for a truly great salon and now I am happy to say that I FOUND IT! I am a professional business owner in the auto industry and to say that I have to look presentable is an understatement and having my hair look great is key. I went to this salon after endless research on the internet and I am so happy that I did. I went in a total disaster with bright brassy orange roots and a funky brownish orange shade from the nape of my neck to the middle of my head underneath the top layer (I have very dark brown hair but have been blonde for many years now. Unfortunately, my hair has a lot of red undertones and I have ended up with my fair share of orange, brassy, and accidental strawberry blonde moments that have made me rather gun shy on who touches my hair). Mierla, (the owner) not only knew exactly what to do but she was professional, courteous (as was the entire staff), and made me look like a movie star by the time she was done! My hair is now the perfect beautiful beige blonde with medium blonde low lights giving it perfect balance. Mierla had other clients that she was working on during my time there but, I never felt as if I was just being handed off to one of the other stylists when they stepped in to assist (each time, Mierla gave them very specific instruction to follow and kept a close eye on things as they progressed) or forgotten about. As a matter of fact, I was truly appreciative that I didn't just have to sit and wait in limbo while she worked on her other clients. I was happy that her staff jumped in to keep things rolling. Everyone knew what they were doing and Mierla was never too occupied to manage everything that was going on. My impression of Mierla is that she is a business woman who was utterly professional, warm, welcoming, accommodating, and has most certainly perfected her craft- without a doubt! I would recommend this salon to anyone & everyone- family, friends, and colleagues alike. As a matter of fact, my mom is in town and I insisted she get her hair done there and she is literally there now as I am writing this review. PS- I had NO PROBLEM leaving a tip on my credit card :) as one of the other reviewers complained about. Bottom line: THIS SALON IS WORTH YOUR TIME AND HARD EARNED MONEY... Hi, my name is Rita, and I bought the coupon from daily deal that is $18 for a haircut and shampoo at Montes Salon. I just went there yesterday and was very pleased with my haircut and service. The staff was very professional and I added a style on top of my haircut. I don't understand the client (Jaqueline) that posted a bad review for this salon because the coupon was very obvious that it states haircut and shampoo no blow-dry included. I also was asked if I wanted to add a blow-dry to my service for $20 and I did add it and i was very happy with it. She did an AMAZING JOB on my hair!! I booked my next appointment also. I also for my curiosity checked out the salon that Jaqueline goes to is a Barber shop, and there is no way that she can compare her Barber salon to Montes Salon. I been a customer for 5 years and I'm very happy with the service and friendly environment. I have tried there services and there all great I would highly recommend this salon to anyone... And I would like to correct one of the reviewers on the credit card policy. I always use my debit card to leave a tip and there were times when I didn't want to use my debit card and I didn't have cash to leave a tip so they let me use my credit card, there not that strict with the credit card policy. I don't think leaving a tip is such a big deal as long as you get a good service and you are happy I think that's all that matters. read more

Montes Salon and spa is the place to go. I have been a loyal client for a few years now, and I have never left that place dissapointed. I usually like different looks and styles all the time from haircuts to color... and I have never been happier with my hair. I love the products they use. If you feel like you can't explain exactly what you want... easy.. do what I do: cut a picture you like off a magazine or print one from online and take it with you... I recently moved from NY to MI about a year ago and was looking for a new place to get my haircut done so I searched up salon around my area and Montes came up. I went there as a walk in and soon as I walked in I only had to wait 5 min and they took me right away. First off I had the most relaxing head massage while getting my hair shampooed. They were very friendly people. I'm a very picky person when it comes to my haircut and I have to say Mirela my new stylist NAILED it. She did such a great job. I'm very happy! Not only do they make you feel at home right from the moment you walk in but everytime I come in Mirela, my stylist is always recommending new haircuts and new colors to try and I always walk out with a different look which I love!! because I am a person that loves change! I love the atmosphere of this salon and spa. I got a gift certificate for a mani, pedi, facial and massage and i loved all of it. It was the most relaxing day i have had for a while.
