I either toured or had a zoom meeting with 18 different daycares of differ price ranges, and I can honestly say that this was the only school where I immediately felt completely at ease. One of the biggest things that sets this school apart is that they don't simply "watch" children, they teach them. Even in the infant room, they follow a thoughtful learning lesson plan. I found that many daycares seemed to focus primarily on babysitting, but this school is intentional about early childhood education from the very beginning. Every interaction feels purposeful and designed to help children learn, grow, and thrive. The teachers are nothing short of incredible. They truly love their students, are consistently professional, patient, and caring, and it's obvious they take immense pride in what they do. You can see that they are passionate about their students and making parents feel welcome. The warmth they show every child is something special. For example, when I walk my son to class, teachers from other classes and grades say hello to him and know him by name. If I see a member of the staff that I haven't met, they speak and introduce themselves and they typically already know my son! I love this community mentality because it really does take a village. The administrators and teachers also go above and beyond to build relationships with families. They're genuinely kind, personable, and always take the time to connect with parents. It never feels transactional. That level of communication and care has meant so much to our family because I am a person who REALLY likes to be involved and I highly value community. The director, Ms. Ariel deserves special recognition. She is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, but beyond that, she is an exceptional leader. She is incredibly organized, respectful, compassionate, and clearly loves every student in the building. She works tirelessly, and it shows. She has created a culture where professionalism, kindness, and genuine love for children are the standard. Her leadership is truly unmatched, and I believe it is the reason this school is as outstanding as it is. Ms. Rhoda who manages the front office is also a welcome presence who greets everyone and takes time to get to know the families well. My child's teachers are phenomenal and I truly believe they care for my kid and he really loves them! I also think it's incredibly telling that so many of the parents I've met have had multiple children attend this school from the infant room all the way until they're ready to start elementary school. That kind of loyalty speaks volumes about the quality of the program and the trust families place in the staff. I feel unbelievably fortunate to have found this school. Choosing childcare is one of the hardest decisions a parent can make, and after looking at so many options, I can confidently say I wouldn't choose anywhere else. I was placed in the front of the school in a room with approximately 10-12 other children with ADD. We did well in subject matters but had trouble staying focused and seated. What I do remember very well were the beatings we all suffered from the teachers. One was named Lauer, possibly Alfred. Back in the 60s, they used old-fashioned yardsticks to keep us in order. They would beat us until we cried. We had nobody to appeal to, as we were just a bunch of 7 year old munchkins. How bad could we have been? Lauer would first verbally torture the children. Then, if we reacted in an adverse manner, he would take his yardstick, which was never far from him, and beat the living crap of the child in his sights. Although we were not part of the larger school with many autistic children, we did have lunch with them in the lunchroom. I remember quite vividly those poor souls being beaten and abused by the staff. They never tried to hide or cover up the abuse. Delta School and others have been successful for the past 5-10 years at deleting my eyewitness account of what went on in this hellhole. Every time I post what happened there, they complain and my review is deleted. Next time, I will file suit and testify in Philadelphia court. This is a truthful account and they want it quashed. If you love your children, DO NOT send them to this school.

Most of the teachers are moms and have a lot of experience with children. In addition, the facility is great with a huge backyard and play sets. Finally, the two people who are the most important to the place are Judith who runs the school and Jen who runs the summer camp. It's a big job to run this organization and we are lucky to have them at the helm. Judith is especially skilled at keeping the parents and teachers in check. Some have complained that she's not flexible enough but I think that's one of the reasons the operation runs so smoothly.

Goddard school Newtown square: 1 child in school, started…read moreat 2.5 years old, now 4. Cost is $1,700/month. My child is currently enrolled at the Goddard School in Newtown Square, PA. While the staff and teachers are friendly, for $1,700/month for one child (2+ years old) I don't feel we get the experience that we're paying for. To start, the program is not tailored to the individual child's needs. So, if you believe your child would benefit to go up one class (within reason of course) you're given a nonchalant "we don't do that" response. The school's drop off and pick up procedure is honestly something straight out of hell. To the parents with more than one child - you're saints. The school seems terribly under staffed, which is ridiculous because the building is very small with a large number of kids. On a consistent basis, you will go to your child's classroom to pick them up to find out they're not in their classroom because they were moved to a different room due to staffing. Also, routinely the children do not go outside. During inclement weather is one thing, but too often it's apparent the teachers and other staff find it easier for them if the children don't go outside (I.e., it's too hot or too cold for the teachers). Frequently, teachers don't greet you or are busy on their cell phones rather than paying attention to the children. Additionally, the playground area is very small and limited particularly for a class size of 20 children (that's just my child's class, I don't know the sizes of other classrooms). Frequently the communication from the school lacks professionalism, including proper punctuation and grammar, leaving me to wonder what they are teaching my child. On more than one occasion my child's name has been horribly misspelled on their belongings. On one hand it's no big deal, but given it's a learning environment and they are in a critical period of learning how to read and write, I feel like this should be a given. It is also apparent that the school's owner and administrators are more concerned for what is most convenient for them rather than the school as a whole. Running a school I'm sure is no easy feat. It would be beneficial for Goddard NTS to bring someone in to aid in running the operation more effectively and efficiently. Last, my child has experienced multiple minor incidents where she gets hurt. The school completes their incident report and will notify you. When you get the story from the teacher though we're constantly left with asking "well where was the teacher." Our reason for staying at the Goddard School comes down to other schools' availability (and lack there of). That said, I would like to note while some of the teachers lack enthusiasm even though they teach children under 5, there is still a significant number of teachers who put the children first and are adored by the children. I can't say enough about Ms. Rosetta, Ms. Stephanie, and Ms. Dana. They are fabulous, always very helpful, and attentive. And, although I have my concerns, for the most part I would say my child enjoys going to school (as much as any toddler would). Fun fact: Be cautious of Google reviews about the Goddard School Newtown Square. I posted this on Google but the school won't post it.
