We highly recommend Montessori School House! I can confidently say they have outstanding early learning, preschool, kinder and elementary curriculums. My eldest attended from ages 2-6 years old. My second child attended from 2-4 years old, and my youngest just started at 2 years old. In our experience, all staff members have been kind, compassionate and accommodating. They are flexible with the schedule and pricing is reasonable compared to other schools/daycares in the area. We have seen our children thrive and grow with the curriculum and extra curricular activities. They put on wonderful events, celebrations and concerts and they are a delight to attend! You'll see your kids singing, dancing and public speaking! Our kids love the summer program as well (magic shows, jumpers, water play, etc.). We are so sad that our 2 older children are moving on to public school but are forever grateful for their experience at Montessori School House. read more

A place of parents' nightmares. This daycare has been investigated for physical child abuse on at least 4 separate occasions by at least 2 different teachers with 2 confirmations, 1 inconclusive as the parents moved back home and 1 pending. Parents were told that one of the teachers was retiring after telling CPS they were fired, a second teacher that I complained about to CPS also retired. They call themselves an advanced school or daycare depending on who and when they are talking about it but freely admit their courses dont translate to public school and will require tutoring to transfer, which some teachers provide and have been cited for failing to vaccinate or follow other lockdown related procedures. In December 2019 a number of the students came down with a mysterious flu like but not flu illness and stayed home for a week, the school never communicated it to parents but later estimates were somewhere up to 60% were out sick with likely the earliest cases of Covid19 in California a by product of having a large number of world traveling students at thanksgiving. Later as schools were being shut down they dropped that claim and asked to expand their daycare by 50%. They have also been cited for failing to secure the in and outside of the facilities as the playground is right up next to the parking lot and the gate open specifically during events in which they put more effort into that actual school work which is done between 9-12. Once even forgetting a child inside during a fire and leaving the toilet door open so that all school visitors have to see the children line up to use the toilet. There "education" is mostly activism - telling white kids they are to blame for slavery, russia is bad, trump evil, celebrate indigenous day not columbus day (they don't know who the indigenous tribe is btw) and the day of the dead but not traditional holidays like thanksgiving, even though they pretend to celebrate them, something cited by other parents. My daughter once told a teacher her dada mischa let her sit on his lap and pull the trigger to his pew pew - that's russian for god father and the pew pew was a cap gun, not bothering to care about either before launching into a tirade against my 4 year old daughter before calling her father evil and then lying to me when I asked about the incident when my daughter was crying while I picked her up. I also found out after the fact that during water play days the kids were made to dry off on the summer asphalt which burnt my daughters feet. Also made to wear a mask when teachers were not sometimes. She was also told things that she refuses to repeat which is highly suspect and leads me to believe at least Ms Ceclia was coaching children about certain topics beyond what I know for sure. At one point seeing that my daughter would age out after the next year she lied to her mother and called her developmentally unfit to move to Kindergarten because she didn't have enough friends and while the mother agreed to this knowing it was "all about money" she agreed to gain 3 hours of additional time for her to remain there another year, instead of public school before they increased it from K to 6th. This caused my daughter to lose the friend she did have and she feels dumb, crying about it all the time and presumably feeling pretty dumb to take preschool twice. I visited this facility 3 times in a year before I finally decided to send my daughter here for kindergarten. We actually made a $500 deposit for another well known Montessori school in Rancho right before we made the final call. To be honest, one of the major reasons I couldn't make the decision fast enough is because the facility is older, wasn't as polished as the other one I visited, and obviously wasn't as commercialized. And the major factor for us to pick this facility was simply due to the convenience of the location. Like many others, we were busy parents who work long hours that extra 45min in traffic is really not favorable. And I'm glad I did. From Aug 21' to Jun 22', the progress my daughter made in her kindergarten year is the reason I spared the time I don't really have to write this review! Both Socially and academically. Our baby had never attended any formal preschool before her kindergarten year partly due to pandemic. She was cared by a Chinese speaking lady for almost 5 years since she was an infant as I want her to be bilingual, so you can't imaging her limitation on her English vocabulary despite we speak English at home when we come home from work, and her lack of social skills with larger group of kids. I remembered I toured the facility with Ms Catherine, later on her kindergarten teacher, and saw a girl who just finished its kindergarten program sitting on her desk writing all these words like she knew them well, I was like I wish my baby could do that, she barely knew most of her ABC upper and lower cases!!! And she laughed and said it so confidently "don't worry she will"... And SHE DID, now she picked up books and just read it like she knew it, she writes, the sentences/words she says sometimes shocks us all. She is confident, opinionated, fun loving, love her teacher and friends at school. she just suddenly all grew up! We are so grateful for her kindergarten year with Ms Catherine! Such a warm and nurturing place for my kiddo. When we first toured the school, I was a little unsure because, although the school is clean and well-maintained, it is an older building and not as modern as some of the other school's we saw. What sold us was the staff. Mr. Lucky and Ms. Shanez were so nice and accommodating, and our daughter loved Ms. Shanez immediately (a big deal because she is not a fan of strangers). We signed up and never looked back. Their curriculum is golden, their programs are phenomenal, and they just love the kids as if they were their own. It's a family owned business, so no surprise about that. The teachers are so warm and welcoming, and our daughter learned so much! They have a fun summer program and give kids a good balance between fun and work. We really loved this school as a good start and foundation for our girl. read more

My baby attended for more than a year.. All was good at first but once he got older, I guess they couldn't handle him. I am currently pursuing child abuse charges against the 3/4 year old teacher for digging her sharp nails into my sons skin when she thought I left for work. If I wasn't still there to hear my son scream, I would have never known, marks would have disappeared! THIS TEACHER STILL WORKS THERE! they merely decreased her hours for a week or so and they backed her 100%, the owners were more disappointed in the citation on their record and not at all concerned about the trauma caused to my son. They also told me that the video recording erases after 3 days so there was no footage. After this incident, the teacher was removed from the class for 6 months, we only stayed for a month or so after this, they treated my son very badly and started calling me every. single. day! with incident reports after the claim was substantiated. Ms Shanez, the director became very very rude and cold to me, my fiance and my child. It seemed as though my son didn't want to be there anymore and was acting up so I home schooled him until he could start preppy K. They were patiently keeping him there and trying to work with him but it was clear that no one wanted him there or had any patience for him. My advice to parents that are considering this school is check your child's skin for nail marks and pinches. I dont know how long this has been going on but I am working with Law enforcement to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else's child and I am also considering filing a civil suit against the school for their neglect. read more

On January 30th,​ 2019, while the students and teachers were outside on the playground I was inside collecting my daughter's items. I heard Ms. Paulie yell at toddlers when she did not know I was in the room (the cubbies are tucked away in a hallway, she was in the corner changing diapers). She continued to yell at them disrespectfully in an incredibly mean tone and as I peeked around the corner quietly​ to see what was going on, I witnessed her forcefully SHOVE a child into a chair with an angry voice with one hand on the child's elbow and the other pushing down on the shoulder. When she noticed I was in the room she was startled, completely changed her tone of voice to a happier, if not nervous, saying "Oh they aren't supposed to touch diapers" and all I could muster to say was "I heard everything." I immediately emailed the school and Ms. Shanez, the director, called me back. She assured me she would take care of it. I requested a follow up with what specific action was taken and she agreed. As you can see in the attached screenshot, she did not reply to any of my emails or phone calls! Finally​, I ran into the director at pick up and wanted to talk to her face-to-face. She lied to me, saying that the licensing agency gave her my name (READ: I had not filed a complaint at this point!)​ Ms. Shanez said she moved the teacher to older class "because they are more verbal." She mentioned how little babies (toddlers) do not know that she was being disrespectful because they are so young. I immediately responded "that's not very Montessori at all!" and she said,​ "Everyone has their own opinions and ideas of what Montessori means." She kept laughing at me and saying "it's okay mama, we are all good. Hahaha,​ everything is all good" and I kept responding, "No, something​ weird is going on. This is very strange." She told me that the investigation proved nothing happened and did not seem one bit concerned about leaving children with Ms. Paulie. I requested that she call CDSS right then to verify it was me because​ I found the accusation to be very bizarre and she said:​ "no they are not in the office" (This was before 3 pm). The entire conversation was a very defensive, condescending​, dismissive exchange. So naturally, after being dismissed and accused of lying and laughed at about my valid concern regarding the ​safety of children, I​ DID call to file a complaint. And to investigate Ms. Shanez claims of them giving her my first and last name. As it turns out, there had been a SEPARATE complaint from a different date and different person, mirroring the EXACT yelling and rough-handling of children on March 6th. (What I witnessed was in January) So apparently​ Ms. Shanez believed it was me and lied to me telling me the CDSS gave them my name. This teacher, Ms. Paulie, has yelled at children and shoved them more than once when she thinks nobody is looking. I can only IMAGINE what has happened​ in the past if there have been two official complaints. As a mama and a professional educator myself, I have so many concerns about the safety of quality of the care being offered at Montessori School House. I would not recommend it to anyone. While certain teachers there have been kind, the way the director completely dismissed my concerns raises a red flag for me. Our 2 year old has learned so much already. The teachers are so sweet and take great care of her. We feel very comfortable dropping our daughter off every day. All the teachers communicate with each other and with us as far as our daughter's progress, dimeanor, eating/sleeping habits, etc. Dad had his reservations about daycare in general, but we have both been impressed with how much her vocabulary is opening up, the new things she learns (ie shapes, colors, etc), and we have already heard two people say this last week how impressed they were by the way she holds crayons/pencils, and how advanced she is. The schedule is very flexible for us and the price is reasonable. I mean, all daycares/montessoris are expensive, but this one is less costly than the others we met with. You do have an option to pay for lunch each day or bring your own. Toddlers don't have to be potty trained but there is an additional weekly $10 fee for changing diapers. No biggie, since that fee isn't forever. Oh, and all the kids wear uniforms, which is so cute on the little ones!! Those were a bit tough to find in-store at the time of the season we enrolled her, but online had everything we needed. read more

My son went to MSH since he was 3, until the end his 1st grade year. The experience, knowledge, and care that he received while attending MSH was 2nd to none. My journey to finding the right monetessori school started with conducting interviews and tours with local area places (I visited several sites before deciding on this one). From the jump, the environment that I walked in to at MSH was the best and I knew it would be a good fit for my little guy. In teaching through the pandemic, the staff was flexible, courteous, and accommodating to students and the unique situations of the time. I would highly recommend this school to other parents. I have read other reviews of MSH and it saddens me that there are 2 negative reviews that were posted of particular experiences. Although I don't want to write a review solely based on a response to a negative review, I have to say that the teacher who was described in those incidents is no longer at the school, and the school took appropriate steps to keep parents informed and updated with what was going on with that particular parent, the student, and the teacher. Fortunately, for Austin, his time at MSH was a positive experience that instilled in him a love for reading, writing, and learning in general. My daughter has gone to this school for 2 years. She was in Ms. Eranthi's Kindergarten class and Ms. Cathy's 1st grade class. Both teachers were so kind, caring and very knowledgeable. I did research on other Montessori schools, but this was closest and most affordable. I read the other reviews as well, but did not experience any of those negative ordeals with my daughter. When Kacey would fall down, or get a scratch... or be mean , I'd get a letter. They keep close watch of the kids, and let us know if they have any concerns. They were also attentive to my concerns- Kaceys speech delay. I was afraid she wouldn't catch up or the curriculum would be too difficult for her, but I was happy to be proven wrong. Ms. Cathy is dedicated and knows what she's doing. She makes sure the kids are more than up to par before the end of the year. Now, Kacey speaks well and even reads.. BEFORE 1st grade! I am an educator, and the mother of two children that have attended this school for over 3 years now. I can say without reservation that Montessori School House is an outstanding early learning, preschool and elementary school. In a nutshell, Montessori School House has provided an excellent learning environment for my children. Both my children have become independent, self-motivated, and have more importantly, achieved great academic milestones. The Montessori teaching method is always in evidence here, with an effective blend of structured learning infused with the learn-by-doing flavor of Montessori. To me, this is ideal and what makes MSH a great learning enviornment for early learners. Every one of the teachers from Ms. Nabila, Ms. Cecilia, Ms. Catherine and Ms. Terry have a very high level of education that they are providing the students with a compassionate & caring method! Our daughter learned so much and she was more than prepared for 2nd grade at the public school level. They teach the children manners, a sense of community, and how to take care of themselves in order to be independent. Montessori School House (MSH) held in high regard in my child's education. My daughter is a MSH alumni. She completed Preschool, Kindergarten, First Grade, and part of Second Grade there. And, I am so grateful that I found such a wonderful establishment. Like most working parents, I was overwhelmed with choices I have to make when it comes to looking for Preschool/Childcare for my child. I picked MSH over Kindercare or La Petite Academy because of its small, personalized environment (unlike other commercialized places, that kept calling and soliciting, to have my child sign up). Well, I am glad I picked MSH. My child blossomed beautifully during her first Preschool year at MSH. And, as stated on my previous post, I was so impressed by her academic performance that I enrolled her in Kindergarten the following year. By First Grade, she was reading 2nd grade level. When most kids her age was barely printing, my child was writing in cursive. Their Music/Performance curriculum is outstanding. Their annual Spring Concert is Oscar worthy. Watching my child performed on stage brought tears to my eyes. And, guess what, no Stage Fright! By the beginning of 2nd Grade, my daughter was reading chapter books. She was already starting on multiplication in math. My only concern is watching her class size reduced as she moves up during her elementary years (as more kids move on to public school as they age). As some parent may preferred smaller class size for more individualized attention, I worried how being one of 7 student in 2nd grade might affect her socially and academically when she attends "Big Kids School." It was a silly concern on my part, as her teacher reassured me that children adapt rather easily. By mid 2nd Grade, I transferred my child to a local public school, the "Big Kids School", as my daughter calls it. And, to this day, I wondered whether I made the right decision. She is the youngest student (November baby) in her new class of 25 students and yet she is way ahead academically. Although she knows Cursive, she is force to print in class because the rest of the student prints (Cursive is a 3rd grade curriculum). Weekly spelling words are a breeze to her because she already learned them in First Grade. It can be a bit frustrating sometime, but my daughter adapted pretty well in her new school. Just like what her MSH teachers predicted. So, in conclusion, I can recommend Montessori School House with complete confidence to any parent going through what every parent goes through when selecting their child's school/daycare. Both of my children have gone to MSH and I absolutely adore the school and everyone there. The curriculum is excellent and both of my girls were way ahead of their classmates when we went to public school. All of the Montessori work really helped them grasp math and language concepts, especially in the kindergarten class. International day was one of our favorite celebrations and my girls still talk about it and we consider visiting every year. Enrolling my daughter at Montessori School House has been the best decision I've made. She has been attending for just over a year and her growth is truly incredible. I have been at Montessori School House for over a year and I love it. Management is personable, caring, and very forth coming. The staff is great and my son loves his preschool. I love the celebrations and how they incorporate parents into the learning process. They have great routines and procedures. They are experienced! My child attended the school when she was four years old. I liked the manager/owner and think she means well and cares for the kids. But most of her staff seem very under trained and some are incompetent. I felt this was OK for a preschool but the education was more about worksheets so I would not keep my child there when they could enter a regular kindergarten. They put on big shows for graduation and holidays which are nice but not child friendly. The graduation was about three hours long seriously. That is focusing more on the show and less on child needs. read more

I love this school! They are absolutely amazing and have been amazing for my twin toddlers! My kiddos began attending MSH approx. 2 years ago and have grown and learned soooo much! People are constantly telling me that my kiddos are advanced for their age and I credit it to the learning environment, the wonderful and highly skilled teachers, and the amazing staff and administrators that make it all happen! Additionally, during the worldwide pandemic I am always bragging to my friends that MSH was following the pandemic before the rest of the US implementing appropriate safety protocols as early as January 2020 (a full 2 months before our state went on stay at home orders). It takes time and trust to find the guidance for your children while you are away . We are now four years in at this this wonderful school, with our 2nd child enrolled here. Our oldest child entered the public school system this year reading more than 2 grade levels ahead and had mastered all grade-specific skills by the middle of the 2nd trimester. Our youngest child is a very strong-willed child who requires a lot of direction and discipline. The staff at MSH has not only handled our child's challenging spirit with grace and professionalism, they have also been a huge support for us as parents when it comes to bringing out the best in our child at home. They have worked with us as a team - as a family, really - in navigating the tough days we sometimes experience as parents. To say my children love MSH would be an understatement. They really are our second family. I am beyond impressed with MSH's preschool & elementary program and teachers. I very much believe that our investment in our children's early education has proven to be a wise one. With regard to the two recent negative Yelp reviews which mention incidents they reported to the Department of Social Services/Community Care Licensing, I can assure you that neither of the staff members involved in these two incidents are currently employed by MSH. During our time at MSH, I have gotten to know the staff and administrators/directors quite well. They are respectful, professional caring and fair. They address all parent concerns quickly and are stern in their disciplinary action with staff. The most recent incident unfortunately took place while one of the administrators was out for unexpected major surgery. MSH is a family-operated school. I find it completely understandable that emails to the administration would not be immediately returned while the patriarch of the family is recovering from an unexpected major surgery. The teachers and assistant director are always approachable and willing & able to address parent concerns in the administration's absence. Although the Yelp reviewer's post below (regarding the most recent incident) was a bit exaggerated and emotionally-charged, their initial concerns were valid and I appreciate them looking out for the well-being of children other than their own. However, a little compassion and patience would have been of greater benefit to all parties, as opposed to an emotional overreaction to a situation that didn't warrant one. read more

I checked out all the Montessori type schools in Rancho Cucamonga before I choosing this place. After the tour and meeting the owners and director, I knew this was the place. The director and teaching staff are kind and truely care for the children. Cost is very reasonable compare to the other schools. Location is close to the 10 freeway and parking is easy. This was the first experience that I have had with Montessori teaching. When choosing childcare for my 3 yr old and very clingy son, I checked around in multiple places. I needed a place where I would feel comfortable with leaving my baby all day, a place that found a balance between developmental play, and learning, and I needed it to be affordable too! I found this school on a fluke, by passing by it. I scheduled an appointment, with my son with me, for a tour. My first impression was that the school was cozy and warm. Although it lacked the integrated web-system that allowed parents to view their child online at anytime, it offered a very caring staff. My son immediately warmed to the director of the school (and that was not common). She gave me a very thorough tour, answered all questions that I had about both the school and Montessori education. After I left there, I scheduled a different appointment with my husband. She treated me the same way with the same enthusiasm as when I came the first time. She answered all of his questions without any hesitation. We left, with no pressure from her, knowing that that was the perfect place for us. One year later, our son still attends that school. He has learned alot, has grown out of his shyness, has great conversation skills, and is developing great fine motor, phonemic awareness, and math skills. The staff there is very caring and patient with the students. I always feel comfortable leaving him at school. If there are any concerns that come up, no matter how small, they are addressed and eased immediately. I also love the multi-ethnic make up of the students at the school. I absolutely love this school and it's one of the best kept secrets in Rancho Cucamonga. They don't advertise because they don't need to. We competed for 20 spots to get our daughter in their kindergarten class. She has been here since preschool and she is now in the 3rd grade. My husband and I couldn't be happier with her progress. The teachers are knowledgeable. The Montesorri curriculum is outstanding. The instruction is second to none. They put on a wonderful international day, Thanksgiving feast, Christmas show, and spectacular end-of-year performance. It's a small exclusive school and they really care about your child. They'll go the extra mile to make sure s/he is progressing and actually LEARNING. I am sad that our daughter will be moving on after this year. I really love everything about this school. read more

After weeks of researching pre-schools (on-line, calling, and taking tours) I choose MSH and could not be any happier with the level of education they have provided my daughter. I would highly recommend Montessori School House to any parent. My experience with them has been nothing but positive. The teachers and staff go out of their way to ensure the kids are taken care of. I have had both of my daughters attend MSH and could not be happier with the care and knowledge received. My eldest daughter attended MSH more than seven years ago and my 3 year old is currently attending. There is nothing more reassuring than seeing the same caring and familiar faces everyday and know that your child is not only receiving a great education but also the highest level of care. To this day my 9 year old daughter has a special place in her heart for all of the teachers and staff. She of course adores Mrs. Shanez and would visit MSH everyday if she could. I believe MSH has made a strong contribution in the early childhood development of both of my girls. read more

The school ropes you in with many activities and promises that most parents want for their child. However, it's their delivery that fails. The activities lack passion or enthusiasm and are very disorganized. The curriculum structure is very weak and not a typical guideline from an expected Montessori school. The facility itself is not in the best condition. Paint peeling, toys old and falling apart, playground equipment also old and falling apart, and the overall cleanliness is lacking. The school uses wood chips as a cushion for the playground, which actually ends up cutting the child's toes. The school does not have pride and seems to focus more on profit than reinvesting into the school. The school is located behind a "continuation school" for youth and depending on your arrival, you will witness unflattering events. I would not recommend this school to anyone who values a quality development for their child. read more

My son started going to Montessori School House when he was 2 yrs. old. He is now 7 yrs. old in 2nd Grade in the same school. Very satisfied with the outcome the way the school turned my son from a shy little boy to a very confident child. He is a fast reader, great in math and very excited everyday to go to school. His confidence boost alot and relates to his friends very well. That's why my wife and I decided my daughter to go to the same school who is now in kindergarten. This is a wonderful school. My daughter has attended since she was just 2 years old and has learned so much. At age 2 1/2 -3 she had already mastered her alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors etc. Now that she is in Kindergarten she has learned so much more. She was such a shy little girl, now she participates and volunteers for speeches. I am very proud of her, I would definitely highly recommend this school. read more

I looked around for other preschools and daycare in the area and was not comfortable with any of them. I spoke to the director of Montessori School House and she was very nice and comforting. My daughter has gone there now for 3 years. She has learned a lot and is ahead in school than some of her friends outside of Montessori School House. One of the teachers even recognized that my daughter was high energy and instead of telling her to calm down she gave her different activities and duties to complete. That makes a difference.
