I write this out of necessity due to Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center ignoring our calls and texts. This is a re-upload because they had my previous review removed, and I want this to be a warning to all 19 days ago, I went to Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center for a fix of a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth and teeth cleaning. When Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center called back to book my appointment, I confirmed that the services I wanted were my retainer fixed and my teeth cleaned. With the intake, I stated again my reasons for visiting. The assistant told me it was required that I get full x-rays and exam done. I asked if I could just get the services I came in for done, but Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center stated that I had to get the "full comprehensive exam required for all new patients. As I waited for the dental hygienist, they played a video regarding periodontal disease, explaining "This video is standard to show all patients to understand the prevention of periodontal disease." The DH came in and explained they would be taking a closer look at my teeth. I assumed that this was still part of the exam. She began to go around my teeth with a sharp tool and calling out numbers. The dentist then came in and asked what I had come in for. I again explained my needed services. The dentist explained the various problems I had and needed fixed ASAP. I denied the extra services due to time. The dentist agreed to my requests, explaining there would be a fee for my retainer fix and left to get finance person to discuss the billing for today's services. The FP came in and handed me an invoice for $700. I asked the FP if I could do the payment plan advertised in the office. She said "only if you get half done today". I did the math that if I had already gotten the x-rays, then that exceeded half. I didn't want to leave without receiving the services I requested. I signed the invoice. The DH returned and began my cleaning. At the end she asked "would you like me to fix some of this retainer?" I agreed and thanked her without realizing that this meant nobody was coming to fix the retainer. The DH finished and said "Grab your things and I can walk to you to checkout." I followed her to the checkout, where I met with the FP. She said "Let me find your total" I said "The invoice I signed was for $700" and she replied, "That was just the cleaning." I was on the verge of tears when she said "Your total for today comes out to $942." I explained to her that there was no way I could afford this. She said "Since we only do the x-rays and exam every 2 years, we can push it until your next appt. You would only owe $700 today." I didn't understand why I could split this payment but not the other. I agreed to pay the $700 just to get out. When my husband got home, I burst into tears explaining what had happened. This enraged him so much that he immediately called Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center to get an explanation. Friday afternoon (2 days after my appt) we heard from the head dentist, Dr. Gardner via text who asked what happened. My husband explained the situation and Dr. Gardner said that he would reach out by Monday evening with answers. Monday evening comes with nothing. Tuesday evening, he reaches out via text, "Maybe she prepaid for services since she has already set another appt" This was confusing, as it was made very clear that I had to pay in full for services I wanted to receive that day. We explained this to him. He stopped responding. 7 days after my appt, Dr. Gardner sends a text saying "I have until 8:40 free if you would like to discuss" at 8:20am. Dr. Gardner then blames me for denying the services I requested. That I had received a deep cleaning and root planing, that I was shown a video and I had been told I had periodontal disease. We requested a copy of the invoice for 7 days. He ignored us. My husband told him there was no way I would ever willing pay $700 for just a cleaning. I am a teacher. When replying, he explained that I signed the invoice. Dr. Gardner admitted giving me x-rays, a deep cleaning, and root planing, all against my consent. It took him 9 days to send the document and explained what had happened to me in minutes. In this season of giving, I have been taken from by Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center. The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Matthew 7:12 This is my first social media post - ever. I could not be more proud to post now. In my 63 years of life I have had my fair share of dental exams and procedures; cleanings, whitening, cavities, orthodontics, braces, headgear, retainers, bite realignment, root canals, crowns, caps, gum disease treatments, shots, tooth extractions, implants, and more. As one might suspect, I developed an aversion and fear to anything dental, thus causing gaps in my care. Until, one day about 8 years ago when I was dealing with a "hot" tooth (a tooth ache X 100, where only applying crushed ice would momentarily soothe the pain) and searching for a dental office to relieve my unbearable pain. Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center was the first dental center I drove to on my fevered search for care. It was around 9 o'clock on a Wednesday morning. I pulled into the parking lot, jumped out of the car with my cup of ice in hand and scurried up to the second floor while in excruciating pain. No appointment, non-patient, no record of insurance, no nothing, just my pitiful self, the staff and Dr. Gardner immediately recognized my situation, welcomed me, led me to a treatment room and in less than 5 minutes had successfully treated me. From the moment I stepped into MCDC my dental care has been professional, relaxing and without stress or anxiety. I actually look forward to my appointments and seeing everyone. Each and every evaluation and procedure is predicated with a clear understanding of the dentists' suggested service, various options to choose from and a clear understanding of their associated costs. Over the past 8 years, I have had the privilege to learn exactly what these dental centers are about and I have become to know the wonderful MCDC and Conroe Comprehensive Dental Center staffs, who truly care about you and your dental experience. I know this because I have personally witnessed and experienced it first hand while spending hundreds if not thousands of hours with the staff and the Doctors during my many patient and business interactions. Dr. Gardner's offices account for countless pleased and gratified patients, many generous community gifts, extraordinary veteran support, support of local and national charities, providing free dental care to veterans, providing free dental care to the homeless, providing specialized mobility equipment for disabled veterans, sponsorship of countless organizations, countless professional and community awards, and many other philanthropic good deeds.  I have also had the pleasure to develop a personal friendship with Dr. Gardner, his lovely wife, his children, his parents, his brothers and their children. They are all cut from the same cloth, you couldn't find a finer family, period. They all live by the Golden Rule, not just when it is convenient, but always. This is what I know of Dr. Gardner and his very capable and professional staff. As a patient or a friend, one could not be in more wonderful care than with this group of individuals. I believe that there are many patients/people who can truly appreciate and value what I shared about these two outstanding dental centers and the capable people that make them "The Best of Class". I also know there are those who do not appreciate or value these qualities, perhaps they should redirect their energies to finding a provider that is more deserving of their needs and character. I have to say in all of my experiences within the medical world, Dr. Tim Gardener and his staff are absolutely miles above the rest. During my initial visit, I was greeted immediately at the front door by his staff. With a firm handshake and a smile, Kailyn took me on a tour of their state of the art facility which was absolutely incredible. After I took the tour we sat down to go over all that Dr. Gardener and his staff can do. Again, I was totally blown away. I can not say enough about this wonderful staff of professionals. Each and everyone of them is dedicated to the patients well being and comfort. Having not been to the dentist since 2018, I was a bit embarrassed at the buildup of nasty. Jackhammered all that plaque off and never once made me feel like a bad patient ! Don't wait, go see the team at either location. My great experience was at the Conroe location. They give you a tour, welcome bag and a chance to discuss treatment plan without being pushy. I went in for my cleaning today. When you walk in, they know who you are. I've been with them for a few years now. When they sit me in the chair, they already have my favorite kind of music playing, just for me. They ask me what I've done since I've been there, and they know all the things I'm interested in.
