I've been coming to Montgomery Nurseries for several years for plants, trees, mulch and their mushroom enriched topsoil. Everything is top notch quality and the grounds are fun to walk around browsing. My last visit I was stumped what to do with a new bed (pictured) and they sat down with me and drew a little diagram and we picked out the perfect selection. Couldn't be happier with the results!

This is probably the coolest Nursery I have ever visited. Located on Sproul Road you may have passed it a bunch of times since the sign is parallel to the road. This place is huge and has anything you need for your yard. I visited in July and they were open 7 days a week. I'm sure it changes once busy season is over. From what I saw: - mulch - Stone - Small and big plants - annuals and perennials - bags of potting soil - pots all sizes - Trees - green houses full of plants - Shrubs We spoke to Trish and she was very helpful and friendly. We showed her a picture of where we needed help and she led us to a bunch of different plants. Each plant is perfect for the area we needed .. shorter for higher elevated areas and taller plants for lower elevated areas. The colors were great. They have carts to help you pick what you need and not carry it around. We were able to pull our car up and load directly into our truck. Prices were very reasonable. We are very happy with our purchase. We found our new "Nursery" and they can now call us regular customers.

This is to review Garden Shoppe's seasonal produce. (We have yet to experience the plant nursery…read moreitems.) We'd seen this place many times when stopping at Braxton's for pet food. Finally tried them for veggies the other day and we were really pleased. We normally get non-organic produce from Gentile's in Newtown Sq if/when it's decent quality (prices can't be beat, but quality is sometimes lacking), or we trek to Wolff's in Media for better quality (which you pay for there). What made the Garden Shoppe helpful to us is its convenience to the nearby Acme and Rite Aid we use, and the quality we got for the price. Quality can sometimes be on par with Wolff's, but with lower prices than Wolff's. They did not have the selection of the Wolff's or other larger produce stores, so expect what one might find at a roadside produce stand, not a full market. But for basics, they filled our need very well. One complaint was the corn. Places like Wolff's will normally let you husk it there, and if you get a half-brown dud, you don't end up paying for it. Wolff's has a lot of pride and does not want to sell you something like that. At the Garden Shoppe there is no means of husking, and we have ended up with 40% of our ears in really bad shape (half the kernels missing, worms, rot, etc.), so if they could set up a husking station it would be a great relief. For the other items, though, we're glad we finally tried them, and are sorry we didn't do it years sooner.

I called to find out the price range for Christmas trees I was told that they don't disclose that…read moreinformation over the phone and when I asked to speak to a supervisor the person told me they were busy. Sounds like they're trying to rip people off.
