    Wagyu Meatballs

Came here for our last night on the island. We had a reservation so we were seated right away, but at the time that we went on a Sunday night, there were still plenty of tables open. I tried out the Wagyu Meatballs ($17), Heirloom Tomatoes ($20), Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe ($25), Fusilli alla Carbonara ($28), Tagliata ($47), and Tiramisu ($12). I really liked everything that we ordered, especially the meatballs, tagliata, and tiramisu. Everything was cooked perfectly and was all very tender. The tiramisu was very fluffy and pretty much melted in my mouth. I never really cared for tiramisu, but their tiramisu here was delicious, and I would definitely get it again. Service was great. They were quick to come over whenever we waved for help and they were very friendly with a lot of good suggestions on what to get. Their servers were very personable, and it felt like it came natural for them. Really nice Italian restaurant and would be super cute for a date night. If I ever come back here I'd want to try out the pizza too.

Delicious meal that was unexpectedly filling! We had the chicken liver/ tomato starter, the smoked cod croquette, and the pork belly dish. Special shout out to the super juicy and flavored tomatoes and the beans/ sides when eaten together with the pork belly! Super tender, balanced the fattiness of the pork without being too sour. I would say that the dining area felt more like a bar than a restaurant, which is fine if it was a starter only bar, but we enjoyed our experience anyways!

Ambiance, food, service - I can't even. This place is magical and the head chef is 22 years old. How is that even possible? We worked our way up and down the menu and nothing disappointed. The bread is outstanding. The drinks are creative and boozy. The small plates are incredibly balanced. The pasta dishes are to die for. Five stars.

I've waited far too long to write a review for one the best restaurants I've ever been to. My husband and I dined here in August after they had been open for only about 2 months. Monti provided the best customer service I've had at a dining establishment - before we even arrived. We were visiting Orcas Island for the first time and our ferry was running 2 hours late. I contacted the restaurant by email and they communicated back and forth, not only assuring me that they would find a spot for us despite having full reservations for the remainder of the evening, but also giving me driving/walking/parking directions, solidarity in assuring me that late ferries are a rite of passage, and a personal phone number to text if needed. The wonderful service continued when we finally arrived. The food was perfect! From the most delicious bread to al dente pasta made in-house and the best caramel-butterscotch pudding on the planet. They also perfected the ambiance and setting. Sitting on the patio, I could have convinced myself we were actually in Italy. To top it all off, as we were leaving, the owners came out to chat with us about the island, their restaurant, and recommendations for other great food on the island (although my husband and I both agree Monti was the best we had during our trip). We were sent on our way with waves and smiles and dreams of returning to this special gem. Thank you, Monti! I hope we see you again some day.

One of the wines we enjoyed with dinner.

Delicious food, great wine list, nice ambiance and attentive, friendly service. My hubby and I sat at the chef's counter and enjoyed seeing all of the delicious plates leaving the kitchen. We enjoyed the lovely bitter greens salad, the outstanding sourdough bread that chef makes with his 10 year old sourdough mother, the linguini vongole, the pork chop and budino for dessert all washed down with outstanding wines recommended by Sarah. Orcas is fortunate to have such a warm and welcoming restaurant offering such delicious food and wine. What an enjoyable meal!

    Even the pottery is authentic!

New Leaf Cafe is the nicest restaurant in town that was open those days. TLDR: Breakfast is better than dinner here. Dinner items: - Beet salad - excellent - Clam Pasta - it was good - Vegan Roaster Cauliflower with hummus and harissa sauce - cauliflower was a bit mushy for my taste. - Cod - it was ok, pricey for what it was - Shishito peppers - good - French onion soup - too salty - side of potatoes - delicious Breakfast: - smoked salmon bagel - so good. loved the house-made bagels and house smoked salmon and heirloom tomatoes. This is an elevated smoked salmon bagel. - Mushroom egg omelette - also incredibly delicious. The potatoes that came with it were also so delicious Highly recommend both breakfast entrees. If you had to choose, I would prioritize breakfast over dinner here. Breakfast is also more lovely to enjoy the view and the stained glass and art inside. Although breakfast at Brown Bear Bakery is also wonderful. Service was good for the most part. During one dinner, there was a very long wait between appetizer and our entrees.
