Great place to sit and drink wine! Incredible views, great wine list and the service was excellent. Good recommendations from the owner and we would definitely come back!

The Sky Bar in Friday Harbor is a great hidden gem! If you like bubbly, get the Sparkling Wines Around the World flight. We also had a bottle of the Kevin White red from Yakima Washington. Delicious!!!!

My friends & I were thrilled to find this beautiful rooftop wine bar overlooking the harbor after arriving by sea plane from Seattle. They have the best wine flights & selections from around the world. The owner Bex is a renowned winemaker from Napa. The staff is quite friendly & knowledgeable. We loved it so much we went twice during our stay. Highly recommend the best view & friendly vibes. Tip on how to find the wine bar: look for the bright green umbrellas, corner Front/Spring St, across from the ferry. You can enter by stairs or elevator from Spring St.

Great view of the water! Gas fireplace table kept us warm on a chilly night. Nice selection of wines!

Bex, the owner, came out and spoke to us about the wines, and her journey to start the skybar.

You can tell this restaurant cares deeply about craft... not just in execution, but in intent. The menu didn't feel like it was trying to cater to trends or preferences. It felt like the chef had a clear point of view, and the food followed that vision. I appreciated that a lot. The salmon and veal were both beautifully executed. And though we don't drink alcohol, we were offered two beautiful non-alcoholic pairings (one sparkling, one rose) rather than the usual soda fallback. It made us feel cared for, not sidelined :) Pastry-wise, the brioche, olive oil cake, and macaron were all excellent. I'm lowkey regretting not staying until Sunday to try the pastry pop-up. Before the final course, we were offered a lemon and lovage sorbet as a palette cleanser. Somehow it made me laugh because it reminded me exactly of a Chinese herbal remedy (藿香正气水) I used to take in the summer in China. Not a critique, just a funny flavor memory I wasn't expecting in a fine dining environment and so uniquely contextual to my own cultural background. That said, for an elevated experience, I do think every touchpoint matters. And this is why I'm taking off one star. The bathroom missed the mark. The lights are on a timer (which I didn't realize until they shut off while I was inside and I thought it was motion activated. I ended up waving my arms like a wacky inflatable tube man haha), and somehow there was only one paper towel left, and the soap dispenser was visibly dirty. Small details, but noticeable in an otherwise polished evening. All in all, this is clearly a passionate team doing thoughtful work. With just a bit more attention to the details beyond the table, it could be truly seamless.

This place was absolute perfection from start to finish. Relaxed but upscale environment. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff. The sommelier was also great. He was so clearly loving his job and it showed. He described each wine and its characteristics with enthusiasm and excitement. This was the first time I'd ever had wines that were so nicely paired with each course. Quite eye opening, for me at least. You can take a look at my menu pics to see what each dish was and its accompanying wine. However, keep in mind the menu changes often and they close for the Winter season in November. We had the very best time and if you're in the SJI and like good things, this is a place you must go. We plan to come back again soonish. Thanks!

Having made reservations beforehand, we were really excited to try this place out. The servers who greeted us were really nice. The restaurant had a beautiful dark interior that gave off a cozy steakhouse vibe. They even offered to take my coat, how nice of them! Despite the hospitality, the food did not really live up to expectations. I got the birria, and while it was okay, it definitely wasn't worth the price I paid. My girlfriend's scallop crudel was almost as pricey and it did not even fill her up. I believe the bill for our whole meal (including a mocktail) was over $80. This was definitely not worth the price point paid for, considering that we were not fully satisfied with that meal. Regardless, many thanks to the Monti staff for having us.

Great decor and service, but the meal really distinguished itself…read more First course was a fennel shaved salad with exceptional flavor - don't be dissuaded by the reference to anchovy dressing - it works magnificently and nothing overpowers. The chicken liver with summer tomatoes was magnificent, even if they needed an extra slice of sourdough to finish the plate. The star was the roasted pork belly. I've had many in my day but this was the crown jewel of belly's - succulent, tender inside and crispy edges, and the flavor was off the chart delicious. Rigatoni with lamb did not disappoint and pasta was cooked to perfection. Saved room for chocolate mousse and it was excellent and not too sweet. Wine pairings supported the wonderful meal. I look forward to returning and trying all the dishes we didn't select. This place has it over Rosario and Madrona. Your wallet will be lighter but not unreasonably so.
