Very enjoyable crowd. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a hometown Pittsburgh kinda bar.

To start, we didn't know where to walk in. We tried the side door by the parking lot but it looked…read morelike an office hallway. So we walked around the building to the patio area and walked into the dining room using the dining room door entrance, but there was no host area. So we walked back outside for a third time and went to the bar area, where they seemed confused why we were asking to be seated at the dining room because we were in the bar area. All of this wasn't a big deal and could be easily resolved with a few signs directing customers on the seating process. Lastly, the place is called Sophia's but inside the menu says Sophie's. I don't know if this place is Sophie's or Sophia's or maybe a combination of both? The ambiance at the bar had a fun vibe, but the dining room area seemed like they didn't put much effort into making it feel cozy and welcoming. I would love to see the place add some booths or more decor so that it felt less like they just put some tables in an open room. It has so much potential!! Now once we got seated, we were told they had no drink menu, just 3 drink specials. Ok so we ordered the specials. Drinks were very good and came in fun colors and glasses! Our waitress was nice but was not very attentive. She was helpful when we asked about the menu and was very knowledgeable, but we had to flag her down for things like water, our check, when we were ready to order, etc. Now let's get to the food. We got the potato croquettes app which was devoured quickly. They were little mashed potato bombs and came with a mystery creamy dipping sauce. They came out hot and had great flavor and so did the mystery sauce! I wish more came with the order, but that may have been me just being hungry and wishing I had more because they were so delicious! The waitress recommended the chicken Romano and the bourbon jam burger. My chicken Romano was fine - a decent meal. The chicken was VERY thin and the accompanying pasta had no flavor, it just tasted like I was eating plain noodles with parm sprinkled on top. I know chicken Romano is supposed to be thin, but this was so thin that I got more egg/parm batter than chicken, which made my meal taste more like scrambled eggs than chicken. I do have high expectations for chicken Romano specifically, so I wouldn't say don't order it, I will just say it's not going to be the best you ever had. My friend had the burger and said it was very very good! They had a fish sandwich special and I had major FOMO when i saw the waitress serve that sandwich to another table - it looked fantastic! It was huge and thick on a puffy brioche bun. I think I would go back here again just to try that fish sandwich. This place, very randomly, also has sushi. I don't eat sushi, so I can't comment too much on it, but they did have an extensive sushi menu and I did see a few of them plated and they looked so good it also made me wish I did like sushi! Lastly, they only had 2 dessert options, chocolate cake and cheesecake. We got the chocolate cake and a huge piece came out that was so rich it almost tasted like fudge, it was great! Because of how rich it was, we could only have a few bites and took the rest home - I guarantee not a crumb of that cake will go to waste! Overall a pleasant experience here. I would get the potato croquettes and chocolate cake again and try the fish sandwich or maybe the crab cakes for my entree.

My husband and I ate dinner in their restaurant one time. We entered through the bar area, and a courteous bartender led us to a friendly seating hostess and waitress. The menu listed starters (e.g., pretzel bites, fried zucchini, and chicken potstickers), salads, sushi/sashimi/rolls and poke bowls, sandwiches, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., ribeye and pasta florentine), etcetera. We waited one hour before the waitress brought out our main courses! Here are my ratings for what we ate: Spinach-Artichoke Dip - 3 stars - This dip tasted decent, but it was very oily. Alaskan Roll - 4 stars - This roll had eight pieces and contained salmon, cucumber, and avocado. Crab Cakes - The crab cakes themselves were meaty and tasted pretty good (4.5 stars), but the sides of peas (3 stars) and potatoes (4 stars) were very plain. Chicken Romano - My husband ate part of this entree. He called it "gross." I taste-tested it, and I thought that the chicken romano (3 stars), peas (3 stars), and noodles (3 stars) were not quite what I expected from a restaurant. I used a coupon from their website to get the appetizer for free, and my husband also ordered a soda. The total price was $62 plus a tip.

He thinks he's funny calling out that it's still morning. Cafe notte has good specials and good food. The staff is consistently friendly. We can immediately tell there's a number of regulars as everyone seems familiar with each other. Live music was really relaxing and for once I can genuinely say it was at a good volume (I think I'm aging). The restaurant has recently been remodeled. Still, it has the star-lit ceiling in the bar and the women's bathroom has an odd step up. The patio is directly on 65 which can be a bit noisy. I would suggest to pick a day to come here when you would prefer to sit inside!

It seems like it's not attached to the baseboards in a bunch of locations and goes up & down a lot. The food was very disappointing - especially with the higher prices. The lobster bisque didn't seem to have any lobster and was way too salty. The Caesar salads were more like wedge salads. Way too many bread crumbs and you had to cut the lettuce yourself. Annoying and served on small plates, so also very messy. The beef Bolognese was not really beef Bolognese. There was no meat sauce. No sauce at all really. It was beef chunks you had to cut up and. Large chopped tomatoes in an oil or something. It was also way too salty. The pasta was fresh. That was about the only good thing. The design looks nicer, but the horrible flooring makes that not fully come through. The service was also terrible. The waitress bright five glasses of water for a party of 6. One of us was never allowed to order a drink. He tried a few times, then gave up and just drank water. The waiters also waited until we got our salads and soups before putting in our main dishes. So we waited a LONG time between our first course and second just because if her choice. I liked it before the TV show messed with it. Now, I'm okay with never returning. I'd rather pay less (or even more) for better food and service.

There is inside and outside seating as well as some bar seating. The decor and atmosphere are interesting. Our server was super friendly and reminded us happy hour was over in 10 minutes, so we quickly looked at the drink menu and ordered. They have lots of drinks!!!! I settled on a lemon blueberry martini and it was good. The food menu is very limited, but being that Italian is my favorite, I was a happy camper. 4 of us shared the arancini, which was not my favorite. I order this often when I am out and this one was dry and I didn't care for the prosciutto and cheese in the middle. For my entree, I settled on the spaghetti and meatballs which arrived steaming hot which I love. There were 3 huge meatballs which had a nice little spice to them. The sauce was good and the portion size was perfect. No room for dessert. Overall, a good evening

We ordered again acting like she didn't just take our order 2 minutes ago. I actually ended up changing my order and asked if they had a "house" pilot grigio. She said yes. She asked if we were going to order food and we said just drinks tonight. 5 minutes pass and she brings a large appetizer to our table. I said we didn't order this. She asked if we talked about it though . We said "no" we were never ordering food. I was so taken back by this experience I wanted to cash out after our drinks. I headed to the bar and asked for our bill. We were going to leave cash and leave because the whole situation was very uncomfortable.
