I don't have much to say about the Jailhouse Saloon. My expectations were not very high because of the location, but a group of my friends wanted to go. Immediately, I was turned off by the fact that it is a smoking car. I absolutely hate bars that allow smoking, and I feel that it brings the class down tremendously. In addition to the smoking, the place was very dirty and dimly lite. The purpose of our visit was to watch the Pens game, but there were so many televisions with different shows that I was easily distracted. The drinks were very cheap and they had great drink specials, so that is definitely the best thing about the place! read more

The service is usually just average to below average(usually the bartender is overworked, a place full of 35-40 people ordering food and drinks and only one bartender, I understand the difficulty there and would not blame the bartenders) except for one bartender but it has two redeeming qualities to me. I prefer to spend money at local places, and they have some good deals sometimes.. like the wing deal. Lately I have been ordering every Sunday for their wing deal. I was offered this as an option both to go or call in or dine In. For 3-4 weeks strait I have been ordering wings. After making this a regular option I called in today and they have now changed it to dine in only. If you have been offering something to your guests as an option and all of a sudden you change it on them it looks like you don't know what you are doing. If you have been offering a service to your guests and you suddenly change it at least admit you were wrong in doing so instead of acting like the guest is in the wrong. Don't train your guests to expect one thing of you and then deliver another. read more

Well I have gone there multiple times . Loved the food over there . Not really a great place for family get-togethers unfortunately . But mainly a local crowd venue . If you're a local it's a great little hangout . Though of course it's a pub people - Not really a great family spot. Though if you're looking for good food in a local spot , try it out ! Well, something that I thought I just might note : " Now if you're looking for a place to " meet up " with your pals after a day at work : this place will do it ! I have visited this local bar 3 times for karaoke and left early all 3 times. This bar is very blue color which would make sense since there are so many factorys and other tough guy jobs in downtown Cory. It's veryindustrial, I guess is the right wording. I ran into a couple of characters and just didn't feel comfortable. read more

I found the bar very clean, with drinks priced very affordable. There was as nice crowd, and everyone was very friendly. The bartender was very polite, and got my drinks fast. I had a gyro, it was huge and only $6.99. I will be back again. Stopped in for Karaoke tonight, what a great time. Very fun crowd and good DJ. So here I was again, on my own and looking for lunch. I asked Siri for some recommendations, and when the Jailhouse came up, I read the Yelp reviews. One person wrote about the really good quesadillas, so I, being a serious quesadilla aficionado, decided to give it a try. Now, I'd been here exactly twice before for a beer, but I'd not ordered food. It's a small place, VERY much a classic neighborhood bar with, clearly, local clientele--which is not at all a bad thing. I had also been here once YEARS ago, and the place has had a major transformation in the last couple years and has a nice look now. They've added a garage door-type front window which they open on really nice days; it's a great feature. About a dozen stools at the bar and half a dozen tables. There's another bar upstairs as well, but I've not gone up there. The atmosphere is very friendly from both bar staff and patrons. So, I ordered a chicken quesadilla at $9.99, and as it turned out, there was a Coors Light 16oz. Draft special for $1, so I felt it was my duty to respect the special and I ordered one. I sat at one of the tables and opened my book--I ALWAYS have a book--and quickly learned that it's kind of too dark to read there, so I moved to a stool in front of the window and all was good. Now, if you sit at the bar, you get served. If you sit at a table or in front of the window, it's no-man's land and you're on your own to go to the bar and order. I waited a good while for my quesadilla and was starting to wonder if I'd been forgotten, but it finally arrived and boy, it was worth the wait! The tortillas were either 10 or 12 inch, so the quesadilla was big, but it was also stuffed to the gills! Not even a tiny air pocket to be found inside, and absolutely wonderful!! Hot and flavorful, the chicken tender, moist and plentiful!! Now, a tiny thing and likely my own little quirk...I guess it's supposed to be trendy to have rolls of paper towels on the tables instead of napkins, but I hate that, and they had no actual napkins. Again, a tiny thing and just me, but I don't dry my hands with napkins, and I'd just as soon not wipe my face with paper towels. BUT a small sacrifice for such a great quesadilla!! It was so big and hearty that I was barely able to finish half, so the rest went home with me. I had it for lunch yesterday and it was every bit as good! So, great meal and cheap beer--doesn't get any better than that, right? read more
