Bob gave me the tools to overcome this bump in the road and for that I was very grateful. It just was not happening before I hired him. We were and are in training with someone else to pass the AKC CGC test to become a Therapy Dog and he just wasn't getting it. I felt that this $350 was money well spent. When it came time to test, I got nervous so I called Bob again to help me with the portion of the test that was to have my dog have no reaction to another dog. There are certain tasks your dog has to pass and this is one of them. It is more than just walking by another dog. He was to take the test the next day but I was nervous to take the test in case he was to fail this portion. He suggested we meet in front of Petsmart. I was hesitant to stand in front of a store asking customers for help, but hey he is the trainer. I don't know if Bob is unfamiliar with the CGC test as he kept asking me what was expected. Maybe, he just wanted to visit. I kept wondering, "Why is he asking me? He is the professional, not me." After 3 customer's dogs pass by he said, "This lesson was a bust. I'm not going to charge you. You can use me for something else."He encouraged me to take the test anyway. Little did I know that the encouragement would cost $350. My dog did pass the test today, but it is not because of yesterday. My dog and I work every single day together. I absolutely use the tools I was taught by Bob for heeling. My dog is also still in obedience school with another trainer and doesn't need anything Bob has to offer. So, I asked for a refund and he said no. What he did for my dog that day was just look for dogs from customers, pace around the sidewalk and we pretty much just visited. Bob is quite an entertaining guy. This is a picture of Bob's response when I asked for a refund. My response was "Merry Christmas. Keep the money. God Bless." I guess he needs it more than I. Bob knows that standing in front of Petsmart talking and hitting up a few customers is not what got my dog to pass the test. It was hard work for the last 6 months and we have more to go. We are on our way to help those who need a great big dog hug.

Let's start with the fact I use to use this vet for over 15 years with Dr Sarter. Best vet I've had! Hands down. He sold this practice and they lost all hope. When I came in with my 6 yr old Shepard, my service dog, she was deathly ill and could barely walk. Confused and willing to do anything, we did x rays. Paid extra $100 for rush review from radiologist. (Scam) I hadn't eaten so I took dog and ran down the street for food. But right before the vet came in to inform me that my dog was 'consumed with cancer'. No chance of survival. Devastated, I went and called family and when I came back, she came back with the radiologist report that 'nope. No cancer'. WHAT?!! Just WHAT?! One minute she said one thing and poof it's gone. She then told me that she had disk issues and offered shot that blocks brain from feeling pain to help her walk. Next month injection free. Paid for that. I asked her to look in dogs nose to see if obstruction. She refused and I paid and left. More confused than before. After I left, I called back and got front desk when I asked her why she wouldn't look in dogs nose. She told me she saw doctor look. (Lies). I asked her to check with doctor because no. She didn't. Doctor hit on phone and confirmed no she didn't. (I paid for it though) they then deemed me to not come back because my questioning this and then refused to give my dog the second/included/paid for shot. I was lied to by staff, told my dog had and didn't have cancer and refusal to give treatment paid for. Your choice to pay money here. God help u. But notice how old most reviews are that are good and why score higher. It's the old owner time frame and person. Dr sarter. Shame on these people

They drained it twice and had surgery on it because they said that was the only way to get rid of it. Eat filled up again 3 weeks post surgery. Told me to go to a dog dermatologist or just let it burst on its own. I went back to my prior vet. I used to use them, but they are in the Woodlands and wanted someone closer. They told me draining them does not work. They put her on some meds to see if they can calm her head shaking down which may help the swelling go down. If not they will have to do proper laser surgery. I do not believe Champion Forest vet knows a lot nor has the best equipment. Almost $3,000 into this and my dog is still not better. Did they care about the dog still sick or the financial burden! No sold me some more prednisone, which the woodlands vet had me ween her off because she was on during ear drains and surgery.

We adopted our new dog,…read moreSadie, from the Houston SPCA in June, and with her already being three, we knew that we would need some help getting her trained. We set up an initial training session with Mindy, and things went really well. She brought us a few things the first time she came over that we did not have but would need for the training process. With Sadie's breed, she is a very smart dog and started to pick up on the training rather quickly, so we signed up for a plan for more training sessions. These training sessions were at home, in public at places like Home Depot and Memorial Park, and at group class sessions with other dogs and their owners. We worked on basic commands such as sit and stay, but went beyond the casual side and attacked the more advanced stages, such as getting Sadie to sit and stay in the middle of running. The biggest takeaway from working with Mindy was that, outside of the basic commands, she really focused on asking us what we wanted to work on and made that the task at hand. She tailored her services to our wants, and that really sticks out. She was thoughtful and explained the reasoning behind anything she wanted us to work on and would answer any questions that we had. One of our biggest things we wanted to work on was Sadie's interaction with other people, so during that very next group class, she had a training exercise with the other owners and their dogs to work on that. Good Lead Dog Training really showed the importance of dog training and that it is an essential part of being a responsible dog owner, and that benefits both the dog and the owner. Training establishes communication and mutual understanding, helping a dog learn acceptable behaviors and boundaries while strengthening their bond with their owner. Working with Mindy, we learned that training provides mental stimulation and structure, which are vital for Sadie's overall well-being. A dog that is properly trained is more confident and capable of adapting to different environments or social situations. Beyond improving obedience, training plays a critical role in the safety of the dog, their owner, and others around them. A dog that responds to basic commands can avoid dangerous situations like running into traffic or approaching other animals. Training your dog is important to them, but after working with Mindy of Good Lead Dog Training, we learned the importance of our role as well. Taking the exercises we were given in class and working on them between sessions not only improved Sadie's behavior (which was never bad by the way) but also improved our relationship with her. If you want a dog trainer who is personable and cares, we highly recommend Good Lead Dog Training. We had to take him into Cypress Fairhaven Animal Hospital. They are not only my personal Vet Clinic but also the Clinic for the Rescue I'm with; Big Love Rescue out of Cypress TX. I couldn't be more impressed with our Little Man, Mr Brad Pittie! He took everything in stride, kissed everyone taking care of him & didn't skip a beat when we got home. A testament to Big Love Rescue which is a Non-Profit wanting the best for all dogs taken by them. Plus surprised me with a trainer! As As you all know I can't do much. I needed help getting him from car into the Vets & back to the car. Well check out this Video! Brad Pittie is a fast learner. His desire to please is enormous. I couldn't believe what she accomplished with my dog on the first day, let alone after 4 days of training. Dexter, a rescue dog, who was taken from his momma at 5 weeks (currently 4 months old), needed to learn bite inhibition, and he had anxiety issues. He is a different dog; more calm, relaxed and so pleasant! He went from biting and barking and jumping (mostly what puppies do anyway, but the biting was getting more aggressive and a huge concern for me) to doing none of those. In 4 days, the majority of basic obedience has been taught. I can put him in the down position, drop a treat, say leave it, and he won't touch it until I say! I have always wanted a well-behaved dog, and because of her work, I have that!! And it will only continue, as Dexter will get to work with her once a week! I highly recommend Dawn - 2 HUGE thumbs up. You will not be disappointed.

I'm not sure if management changed or what? The facility used to have longer hours (6:30am-6:30pm) and gradually the hours have shifted (7:30am-5pm) which isn't as convenient when you're traveling. This also makes a longer night alone for my pup:( this last visit he came home so thirsty, very stinky and exhausted. He slept for 2 straight days. Urban mutt used to post videos every day and there was not 1 post over the 4 days he was boarding. They also seemed short staffed. For these many reasons, I will be taking our dog to a new facility.
