I not only love…read morethe name of this unique home goods shop, but I love that it's in the quaint community of Ashland and that it stocks inventory from local craftspeople. The wooden farm tables, cutting boards, lazy Susans, rolling pins, utensils, wine racks and shelves are masterfully crafted and designed. They carry an array of hand painted glass and pottery as well as kitchenware. You may spot a handmade toy, homemade totes, kitchen towels, bag holders, or some hand knitted accessories. Also found on the shelves of this cute shop are coffee and tea related items, even coffee soap! You'll find beautiful seasonal decorations like wreaths and ornaments as well as baskets and tins. They stock a nice choice of lamps, chairs, accent pieces, vases, centerpieces and table scapes. You may discover the perfect piece of artwork for your home, or that special piece of jewelry that speaks to you! TOTH is known too, for their custom painted furniture, if you have an item that needs a facelift, or would just like to add a pop of color to your home, they can help! Have you heard of Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan? Well, their collection of paints is amazing! So many colors to brighten your world! They even hold classes for you DIY folks! Yes, Thrill of the Hunt is certainly worth the drive! You'll be thrilled you came!!

Drift on by this thrift store... yep, that's right, keep walkin'…read more.. From the outside, this shop looked cute and promising - but disillusionment set in as went thru the door... Let me preface by saying I LOVE THRIFT STORES... I love finding a second hand shop in a quaint little town like Colonial Beach. But this isn't second hand... it's third or fourth hand! The inventory here isn't just used, it's beyond. Much of the junk here was broken, damaged, and dirty. I saw a cute leopard skirt that had a huge rip in it and it was marked $6! T-shirts, blouses And tank tops were stained and torn. Sweaters were pilled, pants missing buttons and dirty.. Worn out broken sandals and flip flops were... hold onto your hats... $5! Haha, ridiculous. You can go to the dollar store, Walmart or Old Navy and buy new ones for a buck. I checked out the jewelry and most of the earrings were rusty or missing beads and they were priced too high. Some of the glassware was chipped. I will say the S & P shelf was full of cute, kitschy pairs of nostalgic shakers and some of the kitchenware was worth a gander. I saw some nice silver toned candlesticks on a table but they were overpriced for this shop. Other than that, the whole place was just junky, dusty and disorganized. I felt itchy when I left... I hope they clean up their act and discard the useless items and start being more selective. Otherwise, it'll be "another one bites the dust" for this CB shop.

Drift and Thrift is very close to the waterfront and right in town, and has the potential to be…read morereally cute, but their merchandise is just really poorly curated. The shop is in what used to be a house, and one cute thing they've done is make the "kitchen" a room for kitchenware, but it's just packed and a lot of items are kind of dirty. In the back room, there are some clothes and shoes but the items are all dated and there were cheap plastic flip-flop selling for $5 and dirty, torn sandals and clothing. At the front door, there was a Keurig machine with complimentary coffee and tea, which was a nice touch. I bought a set of salt and pepper shakers for my collection, but this shop will not be on my list next time I'm in Colonial Beach.
