There was a long line the whole time we were there today and only one person ringing people up. They had a lot of Christmas and holiday decorations and clothing out, which was good timing! I have been in search of items for my apartment for a hot minute now and I have been hitting up…read morethrift stores far and wide. When I knew I was going to be coming to this area I did a search to see what was available store wise and planned out my day. This was my first stop of the day and I was a bit excited. I went in and was happy to see that they had a wide selection of items to pick over. Better than most thrift stores if you ask me. I thought that I was going to find a few things here and be on my way. Well...not so accurate. As one other reviewer put it, "absolutely insane prices." What they were charging for some items in here you could buy brand new in a chain store. It boggled my mind at where they thought they could charge that much for items that would probably be in the trash if not in this store. Needless to say, I didn't end up securing anything from here. I also have to concur that this place does have an aroma to it. Want to know something really odd? Like really, really odd? Right next door to it is basically an extension of it. A space that offers only furniture items. That is packed to the gills........but it is never open. I thought to myself that I would give it a go. I pull on the door and it doesn't open, even though it is lit up. And then you notice the sign that says you are on camera. Great, take a picture, but let me in, open this section up. Or, wait, maybe not, if the prices are the same as the main space, you probably won't find a bargain here.

This is a thrift shop, so you don't know what you'll find, but whatever you happen upon, it's sure to be well priced. The shop is well organized and neat, with aisles wide enough to not feel claustrophobic. They had lots of books and magazines, of course, and shelves of small appliances. (An electric knife sharpener for $8!) They had baskets of sewing notions and fabrics, plus some clothing. If you like beautiful China, they had a set of Limoges for a steal. Now, the volunteers/employees- so nice! I wish I lived closer, because I think I'd be a regular customer.

As for myself, I purchased a desk set, magnifying glass and letter opener, carved with the most lovely owls! I also found some owl bookmarks, some jewelry, and a few other items. This shop used to house the old Wardley Theater and it was cool to see the projector set up amid vintage movie posters. It was heartwarming to know the owner cares so much about the historical aspect of the building and dedicated a corner of her store in its memory. My mom likes fruitcake and the owner had some for sale so I got one! In another section of the store there was a display of local foods: sauces, butters, salsas, honey, nuts, jellies and spices. They'd make great gifts! This shop had a bit of everything! The furniture was gorgeous and the prices were decent! The jewelry was unique and inexpensive. I left behind a cute owl pin that I might have to go back for! Also on consignment were some designer handbags, like Coach and Michael Kors. There were even some vintage clothes, classic kitchenware, nautical items, antique quilts and eclectic décor. We spent quite a bit of time browsing through this well appointed, organized store. The owner, Jane, has an eye for detail and merchandising. She's also very personable and helpful. I'd be sure to stop here whenever I'm in Callao!
