The northern and western sections of the loop trail travel through forest while the southern and eastern portions line the rim of Sycamore Canyon. There is also a trailhead that takes you to the falls. The best time to see Sycamore Falls is after the winter when the snow melts. Unfortunately when I went in the later part of summer, it was dry. Lots of beautiful pine trees and rocks to wander around in. There is a good rock climbing area in the canyon too! Lots of camping spots if you bring your tent!
