    So beautiful

So pretty. Nice place to go on a walk or with family. I would go back again. Nature is amazing.

This place is beautiful. Grounds are nice and clean. We didn't fish here, but I believe it is permitted. Our group mainly checked out the lake and walked around for a little while. The name of it is Cataract Lake. There were patches of snow around. Some people in our group made snow angels. We ended up having a snowball fight which was a lot of fun. Nothing crazy though because there were kids in our group. Restroom was a toilet above a huge deep pit. You probably want to be careful with any valuables. If it falls in, you won't be able to fish it out and probably wouldn't want to. Air is nice and fresh, trees are beautiful. A lot of nice scenery including mountains in the background. Great place for people that love the outdoors. If you're ever in Williams, Arizona come check this place out.

Sure is nice to go for a walk during their off season. I like the way the camping spaces are so roomy. Some of them come equipped w a bbq on site. Nice lake and plenty of forest to roam on. The cutest little Abert squirrels and chipmunks too! I didn't see any showers, I looked, so bring your wipies water and bath towels to sponge bathe. Lol we sure liked it hopefully one day we will camp here. Just a couple pics of the campsites to give you an idea.

Beautiful tree filled grounds. RV sites were spacious and level and very quiet. Sites are spread out so there's a good amount of privacy. Only thing preventing me in giving 5 stars is that there are no hookups. Short walk to the lake for fishing with a nice fishing pier. Dog friendly. Camp hosts were readily available and had lots of information on Arizona. We'll be back for sure!

What a great place to stay! It is all "dry camping" so no hook ups but if you love the wilderness this place is awesome. They have outhouse toilets but keep them very clean. All the RV spaces are spread out so you have privacy. Some people were pulling out huge trout and catfish out of the lake there. And the weather was wonderfully cool. There is no fires allowed right now but that's pretty much for all of Arizona though. But if you have a portable propane fire pit that's allowed. I'm looking forward to visiting again

I almost don't want to write this review, as spots like this become discovered and shed their "cool factor" as they get crowded...but I am a loyal Yelp Experience Supplier, so here goes. (Sharing is hard!!!!) This campground is excellent, in every sense of the word. The views, the cool breezes, the lonely coyote howling at 5am (wildlife!!), the cool lake waters, the views. Our campsite was large and level, site #44, which had a view of the lake through the trees. A short walk to the restrooms, as well as the camp host area if we needed firewood. Fire restrictions were in place the Friday before we arrived (mid May 2018), so check before you arrive and save the space and weight if you don't need to bring extra wood. The campground was quiet, save for the peaceful drone of a long away train horn, or diesel locomotive throttling up. Some highway noise was perceptible, but mostly the errant loud Harley Davidson headed up to the Grand Canyon. These mild intrusions were not detractors for us at all, as the hustle and bustle of our daily lives melted away at Kaibab Lake. The camp hosts here are fantastic! Attentive, polite (but firm, just right to keep order), and always available if you needed anything. We didn't, but we appreicated the kind camp host who helped pick up our Raven destroyed trash can while we were out exploring. We walked around the campground and checked out all of the camp loops. We were situated on Loop C, which has lake views all along its shore. This is also a very RV friendly campground, with everything from camper vans to full sized self contained units. Kid friendly with a few geocaches hidden here and there (no spoilers), and pet friendly with a leash as well. We have already cancelled our booked campsite in Big Bear, California and rebooked here for our return trip in early June 2018. Can't speak highly enough of the beautifully maintained campground!

I stayed here at Group Site 62. It was a spacious and fairly private site. Water and vault toilets were at least a 5 minute walk from the site. The campground was quiet although almost full. Toilets were clean. Camp hosts were friendly. Another reviewer stated campfires are not allowed by the campground. That is not true. The forest is currently under fire precautions including prohibiting fires. Nice size fishing lake. Large amount and variety of birds here including scrub jays, bald eagle, vultures, herons. No showers. Park Ranger gave an interesting talk on forest fire fighting.

This awesome campground is closed for renovations through late 2011, but the day use area is still open for fishing, picnics and walks. The lake is a great place to stop on your way to or from the Canyon. It is always refreshing to see water in Arizona! We love to stretch our legs here with our dogs. For current fishing regulations, go to AZ Game & Fish's web page: http://www.azgfd.gov/ Kaibab Lake is stocked with trout, so you will need a trout stamp on your fishing license. The Campground is usually open from 05/01 - 10/01 . _______________________________ From the Forest Service website: 63 campsites with tables and fire rings, 61 single family, 2 double family sites.6 campsites are wheelchair accessible. One large group area with ramada and picnic tables, 2 grills, and 14 individual family sites. One small group area with ramada and picnic tables and two individual family sites. This place was great. Very quiet, nice paved roads leading to graveled sites complete with stone picnic bench and firepit. Lots of room and tent pads. Probably could have fit 3 decent sized tents there. No light pollution allows for a completely clear sky that's great for star-viewing. And this place had the cleanest and fresh bathrooms I have seen at campgrounds like this! A nice place to camp and about an hour from the majestic Grand Canyon!

Campsite 68, nothing but trees and forests in front of us, made for a beautiful view and very quiet dark nights

We came here for the first time mid June with a group of friends and really loved the campsite…read more They have large and clean porta potties available with fully stocked toilet paper. Unfortunately, we couldn't have a fire due to fire restrictions. However, we were able to bring our own gas-powered fire pit. I'm glad my husband checked the website a few days prior to our reservation, otherwise we wouldn't have known. It would be nice to get informed by email if you have a reservation about fire restrictions, because if we didn't bring our blackstone to make our food, I would have been very upset. Before arriving, I did some research on the black bear shack that our friends told us about, but sadly found out they are not at this campground anymore. The road coming in is extremely bumpy and rough. When leaving the campground, I recommend going left instead of right. Our cars needed a very good car wash after! The campground is very beautiful. The weather was perfect; in the 50s at night and high 70s in the afternoon. I would definitely camp here again.

DO NOT STAY HERE -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I would strongly encourage anyone considering staying at this location to think twice. Our experience was extremely frustrating from the moment we arrived. Only 40 minutes before our scheduled check-in, we received a message from the host stating that we were being moved from Caboose #1 to Caboose #2. We had booked Caboose #1 two weeks in advance, had our confirmation documents, and knew that the unit we reserved was available when we booked. When we arrived at the front office at the official 3 PM check-in time, we expected the situation to be handled professionally. Instead, the host was extremely unwilling to take responsibility and immediately blamed Airbnb for the "double booking." We explained that this was not an Airbnb issue -- we had reserved a specific caboose and were being informed last minute that it was no longer available. We requested a refund because we were not receiving the accommodation we paid for. The host repeatedly stated that she "didn't know how to do refunds" and acted as though getting approval from a manager was a major obstacle. She then told us she could refund us, but if we wanted to stay we would need to pay for another cabin. We explained that this was not acceptable -- the mistake was made on their end, and it was their responsibility to make it right. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience, the host repeatedly told me I was being "rude" and that I needed to be kinder because she was "being honest" and "trying her best." Being told the truth 40 minutes before arrival does not make the situation acceptable. If we had been informed even a week earlier, we would have canceled and found another place to stay. She also claimed Caboose #1 and Caboose #2 were identical, which was simply not true. They have different scenery, different views, and the photos shown online clearly represented a different experience than what we received. After a lot of back and forth, she finally processed our refund and gave us a key to Caboose #2 for us to see if we still wanted to stay. Unfortunately, the condition of Caboose #2 confirmed our concerns: * The smell was awful * The AC did not cool the back of the caboose * The toilet barely flushed unless you held the handle down * The windows did not work * The patio was locked and unusable * The pool was closed We immediately returned the key and decided to stay elsewhere. Only then did the host finally apologize and offer for us to look at another "cozy cabin," which we declined. She then gave us a paper with a name and number and offered 50% off Caboose #1 "next time," but after this experience, we have no interest in returning. Overall, the biggest issue was not just the accommodation -- it was the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and willingness to fix the situation. We felt dismissed, blamed, and treated as though we were the problem for expecting the reservation we paid for. We have also filed a report with Airbnb. Please reconsider staying here. A last-minute change, poor communication, and lack of customer service made this an extremely disappointing experience.
