Nizami Ganjavi (c. 1141-1209) was a medieval Persian poet who is considered the greatest romantic epic poet in Persian literature. It's located in the Villa Borghese gardens on Viale Madama Letizia. The monument portrays Nizami sitting with a pen in his right hand.
The statue is located near the parking lot for the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea and is one of several. It's worth a stop if you're in to Persian / Azerbaijani poetry.
