Most programs I found were only 2-3 days long and mainly included a tattoo gun. For the price and the short duration, I was worried I wouldn't learn enough--especially since many schools only taught a couple of techniques or just one service like brows or lip liner. Then I came across Brow Me Pretty Academy with Eveline, and I immediately felt like I found exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a program long enough to truly understand not only the techniques, but also the theory and business knowledge needed to start a career. I ended up getting even more than I expected. While I was comparing different courses, I also paid close attention to the kits they came with. Eveline offered two types of starter kits, and both included everything you need to begin practicing confidently. She even provides information on where to purchase additional supplies. Many other courses only offered a very small kit--or just a tattoo machine--which didn't feel worth the investment. For the amount of money you're spending, a good starter kit is essential. This was another sign to me that Eveline is incredibly detailed and genuinely cares about her students' success. The course is two weeks long, which I loved. The first week is online and comes with two detailed manuals--one for blading and one for shading. This is a manual microblading and shading course (not a machine class). The books are packed with essential information for beginners: when you should avoid working on someone, skin types and how they affect healed results, choosing the right brow style, mapping (including correcting difficult brows), color theory, color correction, and even guidance on starting your business. The second week is completely hands-on. You work side by side with Eveline as she walks you through the techniques and shows how the theory ties into real daily work. This week really helped everything click for me--I became confident with the tools and the process. We also shadow her and work on two models for our final, which was a big reason I chose this academy. Unlike other schools where students only get to do a couple of strokes on a shared model, here you get actual meaningful practice. If you're going to invest in your education, I highly recommend choosing Eveline's full program. Her academy is one of only two schools in Phoenix accredited by the education board, meaning you leave with a legitimate certification. That's so important--I'm truly grateful I found her, because I would have been devastated to spend my hard-earned money on a certificate that holds no real value. There are only two licensed instructors in Phoenix, so choose your school carefully. I'm very glad I chose Brow Me Pretty Academy.

To start, the offices are beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant. The first artist I met with suggested I meet with Chloe because she has more experience with mens eyebrows. Then I got a consultation with Chloe who was very patient, extremely knowledgeable and importantly, very honest about meeting my expectations given my situation. Patient, compassionate and no attempt to make a sale at all. Chloe suggested I have her office do a laser treatment to remove the shadowed remains I had from a microblading procedure many years ago. She wanted a clean slate and she was 100% right. Almost immediately following the short and painless laser procedure, all of the shadowing was completely gone, which in and of itself, looked much better. Onto the procedure. Chloe worked her artistry with great care and my eyebrows came back to life, even though she required a touch up 5 weeks later, after everything had healed. Today, I went in for the Touchup, talked about the area where the pigment had lightened slightly (which is completely out of her control, I have 70 year old skin) and then she carefully started the touchup. It was so relaxing I think I fell asleep, When she finished, she handed me the mirror and I was extremely happy with the results. Actually, I can't imagine a better experience. I understand wanting to cut costs, but the administrative side of the experience is too important to overlook. Even a part-time receptionist or intern would make a huge difference in the flow and overall customer experience. I genuinely like this location, but whether I return will depend on whether they improve this operational inefficiency. My appointment started nearly 20 minutes late. When we went in for the body polish the table was dirty and had to be reset, and the service wasn't explained beforehand, which was uncomfortable going in blind as a first-time client. She also had me touch the tan on my body during the service, which you should never do, and it left spray tan all over my palms. I did not have my palms or nails wiped off at the end either. When I brought it her attention upon leaving (as well as other white spots all over my hands) she sprayed more, which I think ended up making it worse. She tried wiping off my palms at that point, but they were already stained. I paid over $80 total -- which is higher than other studios in Scottsdale, and I have never had a bad experience anywhere else. I still left orange and splotchy with the polish and primer add-ons -- photos attached. The girl who did my tan was nice, but maybe less experienced and appeared to be managing the whole studio on her own. When I reached out, the response was "sorry that you were unhappy with your service" -- but this wasn't about being unhappy, it was a service that wasn't done correctly. It feels like I'm being treated like I did something wrong. I was told I needed to come back in for them to review what happened, which would have required me to leave work early, and that since I hadn't done that I wasn't eligible for a refund. They did offer a free tan as a "gesture of goodwill", but I don't have confidence anything would be different next time. When a tan is orange and patchy, the only solution is to remove it and redo once the old tan is gone -- not go back for more. I'll be trying somewhere else. I ended up having to buy tan remover, a remover mitt and went in the pool several times to try to remove the solution and it's still stuck on there over a week later. I wanted to love this place as it's close to home. I hope they use this feedback to improve the new client experience. If someone turns down a free service, that might be worth reflecting on.

I stumbled upon Beauty Blink and was able to easily book an appointment online. When I arrived, I was promptly greeted by the sweetest gal, Marsa, and she had me start filling in some paperwork. Typical intake questions like recent surgeries and ailments and some questions about my hair and scalp and then we headed back to the room. Once I got situated Marsa started with the high frequency wand and some other tools with my hair dry before turning on the nice, warm water and wetting my hair. From there, she used several products and tools, alternating between scalp massage and gentle combing. She also added a steam cap and let my hair steam for a while and there was some wonderful aromatherapy going as well. We ended the service by wrapping my hair in a towel before letting me brush it out in a separate little room. I had the option to blow dry my hair if I wanted but I chose to leave with wet hair so it could air dry. Overall, this was a very very relaxing way to spend the evening, the process was amazing, and Marsa was so sweet and asked for feedback at the end of the service as well. You can tell this place cares about their customers and the quality of the service they provide and I will absolutely be back!
