Was not impressed at all. The cheese steak sub was a steak umm at best. My better half had the spaghetti and meatballs and they wasn't enough sauce to even cover the pasta. The salad was ok. Staff wasn't friendly at all. Would not recommend and will not go back. read more

I requested a cup of water to go with my meal, and was told I could only have bottled water. I could literally see the sink in the back of the kitchen and asked for some water from the sink, but the manager (? vs owner?) refused. I talked them into giving me an empty cup and went to the bathroom and got water from the sink. This may seem like a small issue, but it's a cheap and tacky way for them to make a few bucks, to say nothing of how incredibly terrible it is for the environment to only serve bottled water. Saw a very similar review from another patron on Urbanspoon. If enough people complain about the issue, then they may be more inclined to change this ridiculous, ignorant, irresponsible policy. Pizza is okay, too much cheese, not as good as Bella's, though the prices on Monday were good. Won't go back until they change the bottled water policy. read more

Great food, easy access to I81. Relaxed atmosphere.

We have been going there every Wed for their great spaghetti special, however each time we've gone lately the service and wait time has gotten worse and worse. Today we ordered at 5:30. The guy said to give them 20 minutes. I got there at 5:50 to pick up and they hadn't even started preparing it. Myself and another lady sat there and and waited another 30 minutes. That's nearly an hour for spaghetti! Unfortunately, this is pretty common. It would be nice to see some managers in the back instead of a bunch of young newer highers to get things running smoothly. Their soda machine has been out of Mr Pibb for over a week too if that is any indication. Just seems like the owner doesn't care with all the other locations he has. read more

We ordered two carry-out pizzas. My mushroom pizza was excellent. I would give it a 9 out of 10. My husband and daughter ate pepperoni pizza. He said he'd give it 8.5 out of 10. The crust was especially good. read more

Not really a fan of a restaurant with no waiters but I can deal with it. The food was mediocre and the pizza was greasy. The food and menu is exactly the same as Bella's pizza but at least there you have waiters. But the facility was very clean and it had a nice atmosphere, although, I will probably not go back. read more

Very, very good pizza and service. Nice guy at the counter offered up suggestions for toppings (since we ordered anchovies on the pizza, he made the logical jump to inquire whether we wanted anchovies on our salad -- we did), served up a nice local draft while we waited, and stocked us up with ample parmesan and red pepper flakes for our take-out order. i noticed that he bid farewell and thanks to all the customers as they departed. a perfect, convenient, stop-off for good pizza to take to the Alpine Motel for a highway stop-over en route from Lexington KY to Durham NC. (i would give five stars but for the fact that five stars really would be perfect -- like with recyclable, organic materials.) this place was just what we needed. read more

Nice quick Italian place. Ziti was tasty. Sauce and meatballs were fresh. Garlic bread was awesome.

Stopped in late on a Saturday evening while traveling through the area. Great brick oven pizza and salad, along with a nice selection of local brews. Pleasantly surprised with the half price pitcher of beer. We enjoyed watching the footballs on the televisions displayed throughout the restaurant. read more

This is the worst place I have eaten in my life. The food was just awful, especially the spaghetti. The meatballs were a joke, just a little lump of terrible hamburger meat. They wouldn't give us water after 5 hours of riding the Virginia Creeper without charging $1.50 per bottle, that they bottle themselves. There are 5 of us in our family so that would be expensive for each to have 2 or more bottles each. The only way we could get water is going into their filthy smelling restroom and using the tap. Also when our food arrived we asked for utensils and they just pointed to a stand at the door. When we ordered this was never mentioned "Make sure you pick up your utensils." I recently went to the Moon Dog and was very disappointed. I planned on dinning in, but changed my mind when I was told that they would only sell bottled water and not serve tap water. A comment was made about too many customers using cups to obtain soda from the fountain machine instead of water to substantiate the policy. While waiting for my order to go, I began to think more about this policy. On my way out of the store, I stopped to offer my input as a customer and make some suggestions. My objective wasn't to complain, but to be helpful. I started by saying that I was disappointed to be required to pay for bottled water while dinning in. I empathized with their concern about controlling loss due to theft and said that I thought there might be other alternatives that would suit both the company and the customer better. Apparently, I was speaking with the owner. He became instantly defensive and unreceptive to anything I had to say. Instead of listening to my input as a customer, he emphatically announced, "This is the alternative and there is a coupon on the bottle for your next visit." He said, "I can't let people take advantage of me as a business owner. Do you own a business?" When I replied, "No." I was then told to come and talk to him after I owned my own business as if my input wasn't valid otherwise. I explained that I was simply trying to make suggestions as a customer and left the store. Sure, I don't agree with the policy. I think there could be better solutions to handling the problem like removing water from the soda fountain and placing a pitcher of water at the front counter, etc. However, I especially don't like the way I was treated. How much social grace does it take to listen to a customer's input who is genuinely trying to help? One doesn't have to agree with the input or even implement it, but they surely don't have to berate the customer for providing honest feedback either! Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

My sister and I decided to try this place out. It was our first time there and you have to place your order at the counter where you walk in. Because we had never seen a menu we were trying to talk it out on what we wanted to order. The manager/owner guy impatiently glared at us like we were keeping him from doing something important. We were the only people in the place, I finally said "Are we getting on your nerves?" And he said "Ummmm, no. Take your time" while rolling his eyes. We still held out hope that the food would be worth it. Sadly, we were wrong. We should have known that an empty parking lot at lunch time was a bad sign.Nice Exterior, if that is what you want you have found the right place. They don't give paying customers water! the pizza was fine and reasonably priced, but ask for a cup of water and they will tell you that you have to pay for bottled water. That's just plain wrong and insulting. read more
