I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the customer service here. We spent $4k on new fruit trees...prior to delivery I was communicating via email with one of the associates. She was responsive to questions usually responding same day. Once my trees were delivered/installed, it's been radio silence whenever I reach out with questions or inquiring about tree care (which I was told "contact me anytime I'm happy to help answer any questions" ect). Actually aside from the fact that they refuse to respond to my questions, the wrong variety of avocado tree was delivered to me. I had to continually call to finally be told that they sent me this variety bc it was the best tree they had but they were looking into getting me the right variety from another nursery (no one told me this prior to delivery, the wrong variety was just sent and installed). Ok fine. Do you think I ever heard back or there was any follow up? Nope. It's hard not to feel Iike they got our money so they don't feel the need to help with follow up or anything. We finally decided to get part of our house (mostly the backyard) landscaped and decided to get help from Moon Valley. Moon Valley's designer Kayla produced a beautiful presentation of how our backyard would look. She also found a contractor to do some of the plant removal that we needed (a palm was about to destroy our wall.) Highly disappointed with this place. I went in a few weeks ago and met with Jessica, I told her I was looking for landscaping for my front and back yard. We walked the nursery and I picked all my plants and she wrote them down. I told her I had pictures of the property so she could get a better idea. She told me she would work on something and in the meantime I could email her the pictures, so I did. About a week later I get an email that says sorry I lost all your info can I have it again. Err.. Ok. So I sent it all over again including exact dimensions. Another week rolls by with no call or email so I decide to call on a Monday morning and ask for her and they said she is off and would take a message. Still never heard from her and it's been weeks I've concluded that apparently they don't NEED business at Moon Valley Nursery because they are just way to busy or they need to get better sales people. I was really hoping to get this rolling since it's such a big project for us. read more

I wish I could provide less than one star. I'm a business person, and we deal with the public every day. I have been in business for over 30 years and deal with subcontractors all the time. I have not encountered a company quite like this. They have a sweet young lady named Kayla who comes out and tells you she's going to give you great service, but in reality it's a bait and switch operation. All the plants/trees that I was shown never made it to my backyard. I was smart enough to contractually request that my trees (#12) to be a certain height and not one of them came up to the height agreed-upon. I have been promised for the last two weeks by this company that they would come out and remedy the problem and have yet to see them even once. I finally had to resort to challenging the credit card payment and luckily I was in time so the money has been suspended while in investigation is underway. I received great assistance from Andy Salvador at the Moon Valley Nursery in Chino, California. I talked with him on the telephone and upon my arrival at the nursery he was prepared to show me tree options that would best meet my requirements. They had to make two deliveries for the first tree was not what I picked out. But they were able to delivery the tree before the deadline of our tree ceremony. The delivery and planting team of Andres, Joel, Chris and Matt P. were great. They worked great as a team and took all the necessary steps to keep the surrounding area clean. I wouldn't recommend this place. We were in a hurry because the artificial grass installer wanted to finish the install, so we ran over to Moon Valley to purchase our fruit trees. The salesperson was very nice, but didn't know anything about fruit trees. We noticed that two of our trees in the 24 box size were about the size of a15 gallon size plant, we asked when these had been planted from the 15 gallon into this 24 box container, again, deer in the headlight look, no answer. Anyway, you can tell when a plant has been recently transferred when they go to install it and all the dirt falls away during the transfer and the only compacted part is the 5 gallon or 15 gallon amount of dirt. Which is what happen with the 2 smaller plants. So even though they give you a discount if you purchase 3 fruit trees at a time. We know we were screwed big time on these two tiny trees. These 2 trees were not 5-7 year trees, at the most maybe 3 years. The tree can't support the fruit. Everyone is nice, those golf carts are always out of order or drive like a Disneyland ride. If I had had the time I would have gone to Adams Nursery in Moreno Valley. Anyway, so after they installed the trees, my husband called to speak to the manager, Dawn. Never returned his calls. He kept at it until she took his call, then said to come in. So we went in on Saturday, she agreed to let us pick out 2 more trees, but we had to drive to Riverside to go pick them out, as they only had these small 3 year trees being palmed off as 5-7 year trees. I asked if they would price match and she explained that yes they would but it has to be exactly, so since they did the Free planting, the places I showed her to price match didn't offer Free planting. So she explained that the 366.00 plants minus the price match of 200.00 a tree, so Moon Valley charges 166.00 per tree to install. Get it? So if you buy a tree, make them price match, but do not have them plant them. Otherwise if you buy a 500.00 tree and find it advertised at Sunshine Nursery in Ontario, or Adam Hall in Moreno Valley for 100.00, then Moon Valley will tell you the Free planting will be 400.00. (this is an exaggeration, but you now see what they are doing) So Dawn agreed to only charge 200.00 for these 2 trees, price matching so gave me a store credit for the difference because we had to replant them. I was not happy at all. But better than nothing. So drive over to Riverside from the Chino store. Picked out the 2 trees, and they were the true 5-7 year size. They agreed to deliver them to Chino and they would deliver them to us. Well, Wed comes and here they do come to deliver the "Riverside store's trees". But they are suddenly small like the ones they have in Chino. I questioned the driver and he says it's the trees. They were almost ready to drive away, when I flipped over the little plant card and it says Washington Navel orange tree. I ran out and stopped them from leaving. I had picked out a Valencia orange from Riverside not a Washington Navel. I told them these are not the trees from Riverside. They asked if my tags were on the trees, I said NO. Then they got on the phone to Dawn. I didn't hear the conversation, but probably something like, "The switch didn't work. As I had gotten the last Valencia from the Chino location and when they tried to switch from what we picked at Riverside to something they already had in the yard, all they had was the Washington Navel. Busted!. They agreed to deliver the Riverside trees later in the day. So I called the Riverside store and explained to the girl who answered what had just happened. She called me back and said that yes, my trees were still there waiting to be picked up. Busted again. So they did finally deliver the trees I picked out. I would suggest you don't write on the little plant tapes your last name, but write it directly on the tree. I trust the Riverside store, but have lost all trust in the Chino store. But still have to use up my store credit. I really am disappointed that they would pull that stunt, especially when Dawn called me on Monday and asked if we had gone to Riverside to pick out our trees and I said yes. Then she asked if we had picked them up ourselves. I said No. Your suppose to deliver them to us, besides, I only had Scion XB and how would I fit 2 24 inch box trees in it. She said ok. Then she pulls this ol' switch game. I don't understand it. Very disappointed. But I finally have my trees. read more
