I was looking to plant a new tree for our backyard so stopped in at Moon Valley to see what was available. As soon as I began walking up I was greeted by Andrew who was very knowledgeable and helpful in showing me around. They had a great selection of all kinds and sizes of trees. I had shopped other places and was never even approached by anyone. I chose a 15 gallon Shumard Oak that was very healthy and caught a great sale! It was much healthier than larger trees at other places so felt I got a great value along with the great customer service. . Got it home and planted and looking forward to welcoming the shade and wildlife in our yard. We had a great experience with Moon Valley Nurseries out of League City. We were looking for a solution to provide privacy and some shade for our yard against a shared fence line. We worked with Rachel and she helped my wife pick out the right type of tree for our project. The layout of the nursery at the League City is enormous with plenty of choices. The prices of the trees vary, while you might receive some sticker shock, what you are buying is years and instant project completion. In our case our trees were 6-8 years old and matured already. This is good because they reached over the fence line and there is less chance of shock. Rachel was very knowledgeable and worked with us to find a solution within our price range. As far as planning and installation, Moon Valley worked with dig safe to come out and validate our back yard planting site and scheduled calls with updates. We had our trees installed by Larry and his team from Moon Valley. Their experience was just as good. They worked with us to identify the line and position of our trees to maximize the value for us. Larry and his team were very nice and knowledgable and worked quickly. They cleaned up afterwards and picked up all their gear. Overall I was happy with the project and look forward to working with them again. read more

Wow! Just, wow! My husband & I were looking to add some Crape Myrtles to our back & front yards, as well as a Shumard Red Oak to the front. Our Moon Valley Nurseries consultant, Nick Minton, really knows his trees! He was amazingly knowledgeable about all Moon Valley Nurseries had to offer & all the differences between the different oaks & Crape Myrtles. His expertise confirmed our decision to go with the Shumard Red Oak & we purchased one, along with three crapes. In the interim, we discovered an old water oak we had in our backyard had died & we had to immediately have it removed. I can barely look at my backyard. My husband and I regret everyday to use this company. I spent more than U$7.000, yes seven thousand dollars 4 years ago. Their arborist came to my house and recommended to plant 14 Japanese blueberries and one big Camphor Tree... all in the garbage... first freeze in 2020 i Lost almost everything, I spent more three thousand dollars to trim all trees from the base and hormones from another company. Another freeze came again in Dec/2022 I lost everything... and I just found out online that Japanese Blueberry is the number 1 tree to not have in Houston. Buyer beware!!!! Rip off central, believe every negative review, wasted over 2500. They try to extort more money on delivery, if you don't give in there, they deliver a different tree than you paid for, they told us our other trees needed injections, we purchased it and months later the came after we called and said when you coming and did a drive by without injecting them, showed them ring video of no work done, they said we could come back but if we inject and it was done it will kill the trees. We don't trust them anymore and decided not to them back and lose the money rather than our trees. This company leaves you feeling cheated read more

I've visited Moon Valley Nursery several times, and each time I leave feeling so frustrated. I want to love this place. Their selection of fully-grown trees is unlike anything I've ever seen. However, they make the purchasing process so complicated that it feels like I'm buying a car instead of a plant. They don't list prices on all the trees, which is a red flag for me. But even after you find out the purchase price, the process isn't done. There are delivery prices, installation prices, multiple options for protection plans, etc. I found a beautiful 11-13-year-old Mexican Sycamore that was stunning. The original price was $6k, but they had a 50% off sale that brought it down to $3k; I was told I missed the 60% sale by one day and "might possibly" be able to get the 60% off discount instead. Come on, man. Either I can or can't. Don't play games. Once the delivery charge ($250), the installation price (supposedly included in the purchase price), the protection plan ($60), and the fee for staking ($??) was added I was somehow at $4k before tax. The math isn't mathing. Then I was told I could save 5% by doing a payment plan. Again, I'm buying a plant, not a car. As much as I would love to have one of their trees in my yard, I can't get past the feeling that I'm being scammed. Hopefully, this place will revise its business practices and embrace transparency in pricing. Until then, I do not recommend shopping here. read more

I purchased a tree last November, I love the way it is growing so fast, and it was doing exceptionally well until Hurricane Beryl came through in the beginning of July. The winds uprooted it and left it tilted to one side. The team from Moon Valley League City came and replanted it correctly just as if nothing happened. My tree is happy again and looking great. We worked with Andrew on purchasing new trees and shrubs for our front yard. He helped us select Vitex for one area and knockout roses and little johns for the beds. It was nice to be able to select the exact trees from their large nursery. As luck would have it, we picked a delivery and planting date just a week before hurricane Beryl, but they all tolerated the storm without damage. Andrew was pleasant, knowledgeable and helped us decide what might work or not work for our soil and level of sun exposure. Based on our experience, we chose MVN to handle removal of some other trees that did not weather the storm very well. read more
