We had a great experience from start to finish at Moon Valley Nursery! Our consultant Corey did an amazing job helping us find a tree and get the best possible deal. He was very knowledgeable and talked us through what would grow best in our soil and in this Texas heat. Demetris and his crew were extremely professional on delivery day and had our tree planted in no time! They went above and beyond to make sure the job was done correctly, that they left our space nicer than it was when they arrived, and Demetris made sure he answered any and all questions we had. We've been going to the moon nursery for a few years now and it is fun to go look at plants and be driven around in some four-wheel-drive golf cart. Everyone on the staff here was very helpful and knowledgeable about the trees we were interested in getting. Special kudos to Guzman who went above and beyond! Daniel, Senior Lead Designer, motored us around the expansive nursery - at times it was like being in a forest, the trees were so tall! If it weren't so hot in August I'd have been happy just to walk around and enjoy the beauty of it. He helped us choose the best options for our backyard, they fit perfectly. And, he was there the day before & on the day of, installation. Fernando and his professional crew arrived early on the big day. Following the hurricane I knew I had to replace a tree in my yard. I was able to browse the selection of trees on the website so I had an idea of what I was interested in before I arrived. My main reason for a 1-Star Rating was bad customer service post installation and quality of the products delivered. I was busy in between work calls when the installation took place, I regret not thoroughly inspecting the plants at the time. I honestly didn't think I'd have to after spending nearly $4,000 with Moon Valley Nurseries in Spring. Lessons on me, I learned a hard one. I spoke to Steve, who actually hung up on my wife after she let him know we would leave a review of our experience. He seemed mad and put off that we weren't satisfied with the nearly $4k we spent with them, which we completely regret at this point. Take a look at the photos attached. Specifically photo "A" which was a part of the delivery and showcases a really poor looking plant that they picked out for us. Also photo "B" which shows how our pineapple palm was delivered vs what it looked like when we first purchased/tagged it a month ago, photo "C". Notice the huge difference in quality over only a few weeks! I'm in disbelief I spent so much to be treated so poorly after receiving damaged products. Can't say I'll ever spend a dollar here again based on this experience. read more

We stopped in to look for trees. Jessica showed us their inventory and explained the difference in types of trees. She was very nice and helpful. However, there are 2 reasons for my average rating. 1) they are very expensive even with a sign that says "50% off" and 2) the biggest reason is that their sales approach is like buying a car. You go in and sit at the desk, they bring you some water, then add up all the fees to get your total cost. Then the negotiation game starts. The manager comes over and offers 5% off. So, while they have a good selection of plants and trees and have a helpful staff, if you're OK with overspending and like the experience of buying a car, this is the place for you. read more

I also added three pictures Original Post- I just had five trees planted. Moon Valley did a great job. Daniel was our salesman. He took the time to patiently work with us. We appreciated the added attention. He even came to our house to survey and recommend locations and ideas. The morning the trees were planted I was contacted by Cody. Who informed me of their arrival time. Once Cody and his team arrived the process was professional and seamless. Update: A few days ago my landscaper asked me why Moon Valley only put an inch of mulch over clay dirt. The clay prevents water from reaching the roots which is obviously very important. I did not have a good answer for him. To me, the job Moon Valley did looked clean, but I am not the expert. They also could have edged the area around the mulch to truly give it a professional look. Again, I did not have an answer for him. I added three pictures to show the mulch and clay mixing, as well as the edge of the mulch. When I called my Moon Valley, I was told they do not currently provide this service. This is obviously not the complete professional service I thought they offered, which is why my review went from 5 stars to 3. read more

Seriously, what can I say? These guys have it figured out. Sure they may cost a little more but it's because they provide really high quality trees, outstanding customer service, expert planting, and highly skilled arborist after care. We've used them many times through the years. This time, I bought the initial 6 yew trees at the Spring I-45 location with Bryan Kennedy who was spectacular. Before planting I decided to add 9 more to the order but he didn't have enough in stock so he sent me to his buddy at the Conroe 105 location who had them. I can't remember this guy's name but he was just as friendly and knowledgable as Bryan. (The invoice says the cashier was "bmonakino". So I'm hoping that helps.). Both experiences were amazing and they didn't try to pressure me into buying bigger and more expensive than I had budgeted. Of course, they were happy to help if I wanted those, but didn't make me feel bad for sticking to my plan. The crew that came out and planted were incredible! They left my yard looking nice and even fixed the landscaping that got out of place. Those guys are hard workers! I just wish I had each of their names for the review! Fernando was the lead and was kind and patient when I decided to change a couple of the spots around. He is very intelligent and was able to give good advice on locations as well. We also paid the extra $100/tree for the arborist, Devon Hall, to come out and keep our investment growing happily for the next year. Devon was here today for the first visit and walked us through exactly what we should be doing for fertilizing and the best times and length to run our sprinklers to make sure we do not over or under water. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and made us feel very optimistic. We highly recommend Moon Valley and their people as well as their trees. read more

Our wonderful experience started with Troy at the Spring location. He was easy to work with and helped us narrow down the tree that would work for us. We were able to get a planting date within 5 days. Fernando Rodriguez Torres and his crew were scheduled between 7am-9am. I received a tracking text as they were enroute and they arrived about 7:05am. I'm updating a previous review. Our plants were delivered in January so of course they all looked dead. Justin told me that some of the Texas Sage didn't look healthy but that they would replace them if necessary. WRONG! After multiple calls and trips to MV I finally gave up. I went to Lowe's and bought Texas Sage to replace the dead ones. They have a yr warranty and were half the price of the pathetic ones I received from MV. So far I've had excellent service from all the sales and office staff, especially Ben, at MoonValley on I-45 in Spring. Everyone is always in such a positive mood. I purchased 5 trees, and yes you can get them cheaper elsewhere, but it's the service and optional warranty that makes paying a little more worth it for a long-term investment in my property. If you compare their service from 0-10 with one of the other largest nurseries in the Houston area, they rate a 10 compared to a 1 for the other nursery, which offers no customer service (I gave them a 1 because someone pointed me in the general direction of what I was looking for, but they have no sales staff on duty, just cashiers). And MoonValley offered interest-free credit for one year, which made it affordable for me. Fortunately I purchased the additional warranty because two of my hollies almost died last summer because of a watering error on my part, and by the following spring I decided to replace all three of them of them with flowering trees. When one of them wasn't planted to my satisfaction, I called the office right away and they sent the crew back to adjust it. Post-sale, Ben has been very helpful with answering my questions and making sure I'm 100% satisfied. read more

We just bought a tree from MVN and are very happy with the tree and each member of their staff that we encountered from beginning to end! There's quite a process which included advice on the best tree for our yard, offering a person they use to cut down the tree, staff who accessed any issues with where it gets planted to the crew who planted the tree. We bought a few trees and had them planted in our backyard after we moved in to our new build home. For our three month meeting with the arborist, John was wonderful! It was really hot outside and he didn't try to rush us through our appointment at all. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He gave us great advise on how to keep our trees healthy and growing. It was very reassuring to have someone with years of experience look at our trees once they've been in the ground for a few months and tell us what we should and shouldn't be doing to keep them healthy. read more

John came out to our farm in Woodville yesterday to follow up on a purchase we made last Summer. In May we planted about 30 fruit trees and shrubs and we're trying to keep them alive during the drought, rain, drought, rain, drought, rain cycle of SE Texas. John arrived early, had a great attitude and was very knowledgeable of our trees. He took the time to show us the best way to prune to promote directional growth, caught some early beetle issues on one tree that we thought we'd addressed, and assured us that the Pecan trees that looked dead were just dormant and would live to fight again. John was a great communicator and made sure we were clear on his instructions and schedule before he left.
