Pros: Service is great from what to pick, where to find it, loading for you. Good variety. Cons: However, three of my plants have turned brown and leaf spot has shown up all over them. Some were dropped during loading and on planting discovered one of those lost half its roots. I could have bought my plants for less elsewhere but thought the quality here would be different. Installation was yesterday, and Guzman and his crew were outstanding. Guzman helped us decide which trees to put where, explained how and why he was facing them in certain directions, and gave thorough instructions on aftercare. They were insanely fast and efficient. 3 trees and 7 other plants planted, fertilized, and watered in under half an hour. They cleaned as if they'd never been here, and the overall courtesy and professionalism was spectacular. Another job well done!! The guys are all slick needy Salesman who will say anything to push a sale on you. They all work on straight commission so be prepared for that type of experience. No answer to when they will deliver the tree I paid for but don't have and replace the tree that looks dead and is a 1//3 of the size the of other two trees. There were 50 trees bought for $140 each. They were supposed to be professionally planted and come with warranty. When planters came out we requested they plant according to the way we wanted but they completely refused. They didn't put stakes or plant them so that there was a place for water to go, instead the planted them with root ball above ground with a volcano shape around then ( no place for water retention, instead water flows everywhere but in the tree). Needless to say, so far 6 have died, and 20 fell over in yesterday wind. No response on the 6 that died and calls were made over a week ago. Now no answer and no response to email. These people are shady and they do not honor their own warranty. Seen other post and complaints at the Better Business Bureau!! Lot of the same issues!!!! read more

I bought three fruit trees didnt have them plant them it would of cost me 100 per tree but they also didnt give me any advise on what to do . If i had known that there trees cant live in the real world i would of never bought them.. i will never recommend Moon valley nurseries to anyone. I called them and told them the trees died with in 4 weeks they said come in and talk to them see if they can do something. They should of been forthcoming about how to plant then. They were only interested in the sale. That was 560 dollars wasted. The worlded most expensive firewood. So people dont but there delicate trees unless you have money to burn. read more

Bought my Japanese blueberry trees in May of last year 2020. They were supposed to be EVER GREENS witch were not supposed to freeze. The salesman guaranteed the trees. Not happy with customer service after the sale. Spent over 15k and sales person won't return calls or texts. I told them my fruit tree I purchase didn't look the same and wasn't looking good and nothing. Better to go to Home Depot or Lowe's you get a year warranty for a quarter of the price. This place is only 30 days if you want more you have to pay. Owner of company asked store manager and customer service manager to call me I received one call and returned call and then nothing. Do not buy from this place, their business practices are shady and would say that even discriminatory, as we are south-american's and I could not help it but to feel that my money is worth less in their eyes. We went there to buy a tree, we selected the one we wanted, however since we had already paid our landscaper for the tree we put 50% down to reserve it and told them our landscaper would pick it up by the end of the week and pay the remaining balance. They said that was ok and would reserve the tree so it would not be sold to somebody else. When our landscaper arrived to plant the tree, to our surprise it was not the tree that we have selected, was actually about half the size of the one we had picked. We went back assuming they had made an honest mistake and to our complete appalment they had actually given us another tree knowingly. They never called to tell me they were sending me another tree or even to offer my money back as they had decided to sell the tree to someone else, AFTER we had already paid to reserve it. They never apologized or offer any resolution, we had to demand to get our money back, and even them they didn't unload the tree, we had to do it, when they were obviously in the wrong. We went in on Saturday and they were delivered & planted by Tuesday! The workers that came to plant were quick, clean and efficient. free planting is not free when the price for the same tree 9 months ago was 725 with soil conditioner and moon juice goes up to 920 .... they work in the planting of the tree or whatever into the price. Nothing is for free... Remember that.... and also .... prices of the trees after I have did some shopping around are way over priced. read more

Before you purchase from here, ensure you are being told the truth about the characteristics of the Trees or Shrubs you are purchasing, otherwise when you find out their salesperson misrepresented their product and you wish to cancel order, even if it's the next day they will charge you 15% to "restock" what was never taken out of stock, even though their salesperson misrepresented the product, and on top of that, their manager Rich backed up the salesman and offered no apologies for their misdeed. I visited Moon Valley to get a quote for privatizing our back yard. We told the salesperson what our budget was and asked if he could meet it. Of course, the answer was "yes". We paid $200 for a home visit to measure our yard and make recommendations, with the promise that those funds would be deducted from our final cost which had been promised to be within our budget. The salesperson advised that two tasks that we wanted to do were not feasible, to raise and level our back yard, and to replant 4 beautiful japanese yew trees, which they said would not survive if replanted. After giving us this erroneous information, he took us to meet the 'sales manager' in order to give us the quote. I had no idea that I needed to "meet anyone" and "grease the proverbial wheels' in order to get a simple quote. I felt like I was on a seedy used car lot the whole time. I should not have been surprised when the quote was twice the budget they promised to meet and much higher than any of our other quotes. Of course, they would not let us leave the building with the quote even though we paid $200 to receive it. My advice is to shop around, do not pay $200 for a home visit based on their promise, unless it is in writing, and of course, do not blindly accept their advice. Do insist that the quote is transparent and that you are allowed to leave with it. Otherwise, just take out your phone and take a picture of the quote. In my case, Moon Valley told me that two things I wanted done "could not be done". Yet, they have now been done, and for a much better price. An all around bad experience. read more

Mark Hamilton did a fabulous job designing our landscape around our new pool! I can't imagine it any different or any better. It's truly spectacular! From the very beginning he went above and beyond and came to our home and drew up the design. On the day of installation he came and stayed during the whole process to oversee everything and make sure everything was exactly as he designed. We just couldn't have asked for a better experience! I have been to Big Tex, a/k/a Moon Valley Nursery in Spring, Texas several times. I have also called there several times. They refused to return phone calls so today I went there. It is the last time I will ever call or go there. When I arrived, the staff, all guys, were just sitting around smoking at a table near the entrance to the nursery. Before I could even tell them what kind of plants I was looking for, one of them told me they are "just commercial," basically, "Go away and don't bother us." Very rude and overpriced. read more

Very disappointing. Stopped in to get a start on replacing trees lost in the Big Freeze. Desk person was very helpful providing us with the card of one of their consultants with whom we could work should we decide to proceed. Called the recommended fellow the following day to ask that he come out to our place to assess our needs. I understood that there was a fee for the on-site consultation and was willing to pay to assure we got the right trees for our situation. The fellow said he did not need to make a visit as he knew our area and if we provided him with photos of our place and objectives he could take it from there at a meeting at the nursery. We made an appointment with him.. we provided a number of marked photos and our parameters and ideas by email....he confirmed receipt of our email. We arrived at the nursery on time. The fellow was seated idly at his desk. We introduced ourselves and he asked us why we were there.. I was surprised by that reply as we did have an appointment. I reminded him that we had spoken by phone and that we had provided him with photos and related information. He became increasingly rude and complained that he had many many people with our last name in his emails. He clearly had not even looked at what we had provided to him. He continued to put the burden on us as to why we were there. It became clear that this was not a person we wanted to work with on thousands of dollars of new trees. The fellow became increasingly rude. We engaged the store manager in the matter. He had no interest in getting involved. He made no attempt to resolve what had become a loud shouting match. As far as Christmas trees go they are the place to go. Didn't know they only had them at one location this year due to tree shortages. So I kinda drove a bit out of my way to find out I needed to go from 45 to i10 lol....they did give me a $10 off coupon, out of a huge stack of coupons. The tree was smaller than what we were used to but priced about the same as we are used to paying. So prices went up as well I guess. We got 2nd to smallest tree I'm 5'4 and it was a little shorter than me. U paid $75 final price. Nuuuts. I wanted a real tree for my kids first real Christmas though. This place is pretty cool even if you go just to look around. I usually only came here for Christmas trees so that's the only experience I have with them. read more
