Erica noticed that my hair kept blowing back so for the pics with my hubby she took me back near the sand dunes where I wouldn't get the ocean wind messing up my hair. The photos look incredible!!!! I had a family vacation planned in Myrtle Beach, where I wanted to get professional family pictures…read moretaken while we were there. I browsed Google searches and came across Ryan Smith Photography. Going through his portfolio of pictures online, I knew he would be a good fit for what we were after... fun, candid, beach, etc. Ryan had great communication from the start through the whole process- about setting dates, payment options, meet up details, parking logistics, processing time, etc. He gave great instructions on where to meet and we followed to the nearby park he suggested. The location was great, offering a mix of different picture background options, in addition to the beach pictures, which was a nice bonus to mix up the pictures we had available to us at the end. We had a group of 7, ages ranging from seniors to teenagers. Ryan was great at suggesting ideas, poses, and what angles to shoot from. He also let us come up with a few ideas to add to the mix of picture options. He was super flexible! We were shooting for probably a good 1 hour to 1.5 hours. Ryan is very personable and made us feel comfortable! You can really tell this by the results of our pictures, where no one seemed uncomfortable or stiff. We all had fun and had a lot of laughs that he was able to really capture for us. Overall I would recommend Ryan and his skills for anyone looking for family pictures, weddings, senior pictures, etc. He truly is so talented and I (and my whole family) were very impressed with the results. Family beach photo session (6 adults) this past July was a huge disappointment. Sharon posed us like a wedding party line up, very few candids. She would only snap the camera one time for each picture and say I got it . After a quick review on her camera she said would say OK, I know what I'm doing and 'this is not my first rodeo." We weren't told where to look, and when we made suggestions we just got more of the signal to bunch up together. Almost all the photos looked similar and many backgrounds were ugly (few with the beautiful ocean and beach) . One edited photo was flipped in the photoshop and all the beach and ocean background were reversed. Some edited colorations were off (too washed out it too vivid.) --another had the sign edited out but not the pole behind one person's head! You have to purchase the photos she takes and edits. I requested to purchase the unedited originals and she said she doesn't keep them. No free digital download, which was not mentioned when we first spoke on the phone, nor in the contract. The prices for even a digital download is $4 each and the link is only good for 7 days--- for something I PAID FOR IN ADDITION to paying $300+ for the session and (edited) gallery in the first place. I've had professional photography done for our family a few times with no charge for a thumb drive of the unedited originals. We ended up spending WAY too much money for what we experienced, and the pictures were really uninspired. Stay out of business and Off The Beach!!

Sharon was very easy to schedule and coordinate with on the day of, and extremely flexible as the plan shifted slightly, which was nice. It was clear that she had tons of experience with the type of shoot we wanted to do, and her expertise absolutely led to some magnificent photos. Working with her afterwards to get our pictures was extremely easy and we were blown away with the quality of the photos. We were thrilled to have Sharon make our special day even better than we thought it could be, and we can't imagine you having a better experience with a beach photographer in Sunset Beach area. Seriously, if you don't call Sharon for your special event... you've only got yourself to blame.
