my wife and i went to see some friends that have a place in the area ,we were told this establishment was a good lodging option . well they were certainly on point ,the office staff were upbeat and very accomadating , when i checked in i had mentioned that i relized they offered a senior discount i had not taken advantage of ,they were more than willing to make sure i got the discount ,i was personally escorted to my rooms location ,when i walked in i was impressed on how clean and fresh the room was and felt ,all rooms have a ocean view ,and our upper room and a small balcony w/a few comfy chairs , the room it self had a few comfy chairs a king bed ,throw blankets .......nice .......and pillows ............bathroom had walk in shower w/2 shower heads , very comfortable stay ...................we will return !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

This is our second year at Moon Stone Beach Hotel. We celebrated our 41st & 42nd wedding anniversary here. We enjoyed our time so much that we plan to come back every year. To make sure, we book our reservations a year in advance. It's the best place to relax without commercial hustle and bustle. It fits us perfectly. There is something miraculous to waking up to a view of the ocean every morning. Walks on the beach are always peaceful and invigorating at the same time. We love it here. read more

Probably the BEST motel I've ever stayed at! Came for a little getaway for my bf's bday. This place was recommended by my neighbors that now reside in Ocean Shores (which is about a 20-30 min drive from this motel!) The outside has been renovated to include additional rooms. It doesn't look like much from the outside but my oh my, it sure is a nice view of the simplicity of the beach! The room is modern, spacious. When we first walked in, you hear calm chill music, along with candles that light up automatically (turn off in the morning, battery operated). They had a huge Costco blanket meant for the king bed which was SO nice and cozy! The shower is nice! LOVED the papaya soap!!! Such a nice scent. They also provided a couple of makeup wipes as well. When you have the patio door open, you can hear the waves and calmness of the beach! Lots of cars parked to clam dig...and you can drive on the beach too! (There are signs!) Lastly, the staff that work there are SO amazing! I've never had service like that. They provided recommendations of where to go for gooood chowder haha. Both Thomas and Frank, and I believe Katie, were just friendly, and hospitable. Thomas actually refunded my money for the third night since they were running a special on purchasing 2 nights, third night was free! We will definitely come back! read more

A perfect, pristine hotel with a great staff seemingly at the "beach at the end of the world" (it's not, but there's a cool vibe of solitude and peace we enjoyed). We were nearly late to check in so called in and were told not to worry, our room was ready, and we'd have keys. While we did arrive a few minutes before the front desk closed for the evening, that was the first of many thoughtful touches we enjoyed at Moonstone. We were on the second floor with a kitchen, Keurig and separate bedroom. The unit was immaculate with nice touches (see photos), and the picture window view was worth the price alone. Our photo of the interior is poor; there was more light and well, less junk before we unpacked. WiFi was good and there were no infrastructure issues at all, as would be expected at a hotel of this quality. We noticed EV charging stations in the parking lot. You walk across the dune (it's a shorter distance than it seems in the photos) to the wide beach, and along the way there are chairs to sit and sip in the dunes, with solar lights. Another nice touch. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking, and we had a nice selection of K-Cups available, with more in the front office if needed. There is a small "one of everything" store in Moclips, and we also stopped in Aberdeen at a grocery store for supplies before coming in. We received a card from Moonstone staff after we'd returned home. The last of many kindnesses we received. read more

Moonstone, Beach Motel is a hidden gym. I have been coming here for over 32 years. What always drew me was the caring of the staff, the pristine cleanliness of the place. Sparkling, clean windows to enjoy the wonderful oceanfront views. The very homelike coziness of the rooms. Even more so now with the brand new buildings, we had the two bedroom suite with complete kitchen, all the utensils and dishware , nice set of cooking wear and best of all, a dishwasher! They have pares of comfy Adirondack chairs placed along the seagrass for viewing the ocean. Oh did I mention they are pet friendly? The best way to describe our stay is to say we've already booked and paid for next year's anniversary !! read more

Recommended by our former neighbors, this lovely hidden gem far surpassed all our expectations! It sits directly on the beach and as soon as you walk into your room you're greeting with soft mood lighting and calming music playing. Most rooms also feature a balcony with a beautiful view of the water. The back area also has picnic tables, chairs, and walking paths to the beach with additional adirondack chairs perched up on hills, complete with lights that come on at night! The staff are incredibly friendly, have games to borrow, and will always point you in the right direction if you're not sure about where to go or what to do. They even refunded our final day at the motel because they were running a special, even though it was after we had already booked! Site also has easy access for you to drive your car directly up and down the beach, which was incredible and not something I've ever done before! Can't recommend this cozy little getaway enough! 5 stars! read more

This motel is brillant. Kate, the front desk staff was our saving grace. She checked us into her favotite room, which had incredible views, was sparkling clean and had all the amenities we needed... a mini-kitchen, amazing views, easy access to the beach, 24hr. on site management and parking. If you read my review about the ill treatment by the management company "By the Sea" and refusal of a pre-booked room at the High Tide, we came here by accident and were treated like royalty. All of the management team (on site) which there are 4, were friendly, helpful and worked hard to keep everything in great condition. I agree with Lauri D. our room had the biggest shower, with river rock floor and luxiourious towels. However, our room had a microwave, 2 burner stove, a mid size refrigerator and dishwasher... plus it had a two person private balcony. This motel has room sizes for everyone... from studios to 2 bedrooms. They welcome pets as well. if you choose to vacation here you will be well received and pampered. read more

Love the location, host was super helpful, room was comfy (biggest walk in shower we've ever seen!)....but no microwave? Fortunately we knew that ahead of time, so we bought a small one from Walmart for $55 (hint, hint). It fit nicely on the dining table next to the Keurig machine. Handicap unit, lots of walking up a long ramp, but no stairs (also good because we travel with rolling storage, so ramp better than bouncing it up/down stairs). Location on our favorite beach, private access to Mocrocks. Too cold to sit out in the beach chairs in the dunes in February.....but good access for beachcombing at sunrise. read more

Ideal spot to get away from it all. This motel is recently refreshed, and the rooms, decor, and appointments are first rate. Roomy open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas with every appliance you'll need (the local restaurant choices are not bad, but very limited). Spotless bathrooms with new rain showers. Pet friendly rooms are available. The staff is warm and super helpful. And it overlooks a beach that is quiet and uncrowded, ideal for long, contemplative walks (with or without a four legged companion). Will definitely be back! read more

This was such a cute little hotel! We stayed on the bottom floor in a dog friendly room and they left us a food bowl, two treats, a dog towel and big dog blanket. The hotel was very clean and cozy. It came with two small burners, cooking tools and was very modern looking. The only thing I would recommend is bringing measuring cups (if needed) and if you're doing more cooking, bring a pot or more utensils. There was the bare minimum. All the units have a view of the beach and we had two very comfy chairs right on our patio. There is also a little gas station a few minute drive away. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind when we checked in and we loved this stay! read more

This place is awesome. We stumbled upon it by accident because it got dark on us while driving along the Washington coast. The manager let me play with "the bosses cat" meaning his wife lol, after opening the office very late to let us check in. He was great! We got up the next morning to a spectacular view of the ocean. You can almost spit in it from the balcony. Our room was very clean, very nice, great bed. There was a dog bed, water bowl, and a couple of dog treats for our critter "butthead". A back lawn with chairs to watch the waves.. I mean WOW. What a happy accident for us. Love this place! read more

Late September weekend. Besides one other person we were the only ones in the motel. Stayed in Suite #5 for pet-friendliness. I'm used to 'rustic' beach houses, and this place puts the Rust in rustic. It was a bit high-priced for the condition it's in ($150/night), but it's a killer view of a beautiful and mostly unpopulated beach. Full kitchen. Bring your own coffee and fixings, it was rough to get up Saturday morning and drive a mile to Moclips General Store, but it was nice that they had plates and silverware. read more

I can't say enough good things about the Moonstone Beach Motel. The people who run it are wonderful; it's charming, rustic, secluded and has a rich history. It's perfect. The rooms are very spacious with a kitchen, so it really feels like a little oasis that is a home away from home. You may be dissuaded when you drive up as it looks a bit run down due to 50 years of ocean spray and wind, but rest assured it is lovely and clean, and obviously been maintained with love over the years. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice beach front place to stay on the Peninsula! read more

Stay here! This little 10 room gem is less than a year old. The photos are real. Our room had amazing ocean views with a large picture window and sliding door and large side window. It is a very private place too and it was easy to leave the slider open at night for gorgeous night air. The kitchen has everything you need (because there really aren't any places to eat around there.) The towels in the bathroom were lovely as were the shampoo/soap. Beach access cannot be better and it is at the end of North Beach so we walked and walked on the beach. Lake Quinault trails are about 45 minutes away. If we are lucky enough to get up there again, we will stay here! read more

I can't put into words just how beautiful this property is. Not only is it impeccably clean and so well decorated. But the view and direct beach access is hard to find anywhere else that is not a singular house rental. My family and I have been coming here every year for nearly twenty years. Yes, it is a bit run- down, but it is a place with character and a story. The view is always wonderful, and the property managers friendly and welcoming. There is a new building going up, with the intent to replace the old one, but I hope they find a way to make the repairs and keep the existing structures, especially the cozy and adorable separate cabin. Already I am looking forward to our trip back next year! Update 10/30/2015: The new building was completed in September and the old (orange) blue building was scheduled for demolition. I am so sad to lose that nostalgia, but the new building is beautiful and very modern. It won't ever be the same as that orange motel you could see from all the way out on the ocean at low tide, but I am looking forward to beginning a new tradition next summer! read more

Please read the whole review after my first statement. Do not expect luxurious accommodations. The rooms are small, but what they do offer is what they are. The important things are there. First, the views are WONDERFUL. They are indicative of the old Moclips Motel, looking over the surf so that you can open the windows and listen to the waves as you sleep. Room size is made up for by the beds and linens, as they are truly first class. This was one of the best hotel sleeps of our lives. The waves crashing, and our dog crashing on the futon next to us. Lastly, the proprietors were great. Friendly, and kind to us, for one, but the trump card was the fact that our cocker spaniel actually kissed the male. Our dog doesn't even kiss his mother, but he clearly loved that man. The wife noticed that we were the only Friday only guests arriving and while we were coming back from the beach, made a point of greeting us to apologize that they couldn't have us on Saturday night. Very good signs for the proprietors and their establishment. Putting us in danger of not being able to stay there easily, stay here, they deserve your business. read more

I started going to the Moonstone over 25 year ago. It was an always affordable place to go, and a little shabby but a place a college student with a food service job could afford. When it was bought by new owners I was worried. I got more worried when I stayed there and the hot water in our unit didn't work at all - our entire stay, according to the front desk it was because the owner was pouring their money into the new unit they were building. The new owner was aware that the hot water heater was broken but rented us the room anyway, without telling us. I got no compensation. Now the new hotel is open, most of the units are no longer pet friendly, and the rates have more than doubled. No thank you! It's too bad an affordable place to stay was ruined by greed, but it's an old story. I won't be staying there anymore, and I am sure many families have been priced out as well. read more

Cute little motel. Hubby and I stayed in room#1 has everything basic you would need. Jim and Patti were very nice and homely. The room has 2 entrances, one to the street and the back door to go out towards the beach! The best part of staying here is that the beach was right there! There's also a little convenience store just in walking distance south of the motel. I would love to come back and stay in the rooms on the second floor and to see the finishing of the other motel next to it. read more

The view is fantastic !!! Nothing between you and the beach. The rooms are small but very nice and clean. True, there is no maid service but they stock you up on towels and coffee......so what do you need a maid for ? Complete with refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The person at the front desk was very nice and hospitable. They only issue I had with our room, was the mattress. Terribly uncomfortable. It was clean and a pillow top so I think it may just be a situation as it's "not as good as the one we have at home". Other than that, everyone was nice and pleasant, everything was clean and the view was great !! read more

The motel was adequate. They advertise 2 beds, but one is a pull out couch, not a bed. The actual bed was uncomfortable too. They don't provide any maid service including changing towels. WiFi was off the entire last day AND the office was closed all day. There wasn't even a home number in the room to call for assistance and your phone data doesn't work at that part of the beach. The views up that way are spectacular but unless you feel like indoor camping, look elsewhere. read more

I made a reservation for 1 night and 2 rooms. For one entire week I thought our getaway weekend was planned during the busy clamming season. Today I received a call from the gentleman who took my reservation, informing me that the owner is canceling it as he is imposing a 2-night minimum, even though a week ago there was only a one night minimum. When I asked why he would retroactively cancel someone who had reserved a week ago before imposed, he said he was sorry but his job depends on his canceling and complying with his boss. When I asked him to let his boss know that I am upset that we have had a reservation for an entire week, he said his boss knows, as he saw my reservation and then told him to cancel it. That may end our weekend plans, as things were filling up when I found this reservation! read more

We had a blast at this place. Sure, it needs repair, pretty badly. Things are mismatched, the place is a bit run down but that said, the view is AMAZING. We moved the bed so that we could see the ocean when we woke up. The beach access is amazing...it's right there. The view is 5 star and that is what you are paying for. $119/night for a room that sleeps 5, has a kitchen, and the best view you can imagine. The sunsets are amazing, you can drive on the beach, the managers are friendly and accommodating, it's a great place (just be sure that you are on the same page with your significant other...I'm a girly girl but I can rough it and I laugh about things like outdoor light fixtures in the living room, but if you take a prissy girl you're better off going somewhere else because it's a bit of a dive, a dive with a great view, comfy beds, cheap as it comes, and a short gorgeous drive to Ocean Shores). read more
