I had a new client that lived in a roach-infested apt. but didn't know because it wasn't told to me. people can't help their situations. However, the company should go out and see what the client needs and take notes while at the client's home. of possible dangers to the caregiver when it says light housekeeping that generally means dusting and picking things up off the floor. personal care has a wide range of things to do. My 87 year old VA veteran father is currently home and bed bound in a specialized air chamber bed due to dementia and a nasty bedsore caused by the Encompass Health & Rehab facility in Lutz. The VA assigned Advanced home health as our home care aide service that is supposed to come to our home 6 days per week at 2 hours per day to sponge bathe my father, brush his teeth and shave his face plus do light duty cleaning and making lunch for dad like a sandwich or heat up food I have prepared in advance. The aide Tania, has always been late and never ever stayed for more than an hour... usually less! We have security cameras all over the house and at the front door recording 24/7. I wasn't told that she was required to stay for 2 hours to give me, the caregiver, a break. I had to quickly move back to my parents home, all within a matter of a week to help take care of them. The VA called a week after dad had started the care service to check in and gave me all the details. I had to supply my ring security camera footage to prove the aide was barely staying an hour and apparently not doing the job she is supposed to be doing! Yet she was definitely billing and getting paid for 2 hours!! SCAMMER!! I made sure to contact Medicare and inform them as well. BBB is next on the list! We were assigned a new aide that has now no call no showed 3 shifts now. I called the office and spoke with a supervisor and she promised to personally come out to assist me today at 3 pm.... It's now 5 pm and also a no call no show or reply to text by the supervisor on Monday Oct 11th and dad has now gone 4 days without being bathed. I am only able to clean some areas as my father has zero strength to turn himself over or hold his own weight. He is 6'6" and I am a whopping 5'4". Mom has had 2 strokes so she can't assist me either. Beware of the Advanced Home Health company!! They are liars and insurance payment thieves!!

I would like to express my feelings and observations regarding the rehabilitation center where my…read morefamily member has been staying for nearly 20 days. From what I have observed, there appears to be a shortage of staff to properly care for the patients, as well as a lack of adequate cleaning equipment and supplies. The person who cleaned today seemed to only do a superficial job, not because of a lack of effort, but because they simply do not have enough time or the proper materials to clean thoroughly. The CNAs are expected to change, bathe, dress, and make the beds for patients, while also serving meals and later collecting all the meal trays. That is an overwhelming workload for the number of patients they are responsible for. The nurses also appear to be overworked. It is noticeable that many staff members do not seem satisfied with their working conditions, and I understand that the pay may also be a contributing factor. In addition, there seem to be frequent changes in management. It is truly unfortunate because the facility itself is very nice. However, it does not appear to have the staffing levels, equipment, or resources needed to provide the quality of care that patients deserve. I do want to recognize that the staff members are kind, attentive, and quick to listen and respond when concerns are brought to their attention. My comments are directed toward the need for better support and resources, not toward the employees who are doing their best under difficult circumstances.
