My rating is based on the last movie we watched there. We have been there 5-6 times now. In the past, I've enjoyed watching movies there. You have to show up early to get a good spot for parking (minor thing): be prepared and bring your own chairs or what have you to spend time before movie starts. Movies sometimes don't' start on the time described on their website. A nice thing is that they allow you to bring your own food and beverages. They usually have usually at least 1 food truck (although when they first started they had at least 2!) and popcorn and snacks, which is a plus! Our last movie drops my experience there from a 4 to a 1. First, they used to enforce trucks to park in the last rows. This wasn't an issue for us as we got there early, but I could see how aggravating it is for people with smaller vehicles for visibility. This is not a factor for which I drop my rating...1) the lighting is now terrible, to the point that we couldn't see anything in darker scenes! this is because there is now a golf-range business to the left, and they installed some very bright lights that just reflect on the screen, really makes it hard to watch, to the point that is not enjoyable; 2) the sound was off! this is also the first time that we had this issue. I thought it was our car that for whatever reason was having an issue with the signal from the radio station, but i turned off the sound and noticed that the 2 cars next to us were also having the same "back-noise" issue. It's a shame as we enjoyed going every now and then to watch a movie, but with these new elements, especially the lighting I can not recommend it. read more

mobile radio doesn't work, and there were lights from the golf course hindering my movie experience. there was also a terrible sewer smell the entire movie. i recommend you attend showboat theater in cypress Edit: after the movie my car battery died and the complimentary jumper cable wasnt charged the staff also did not have a real jumper cable. :/ read more

For beginners, the website says food trucks and air conditioned bathrooms available. Didnt see either. The screen is made up of stacked shipping containers and a screen slapped over them. The parking is on a medium sized lot and the parking spaces create people literally sitting on top of one another. I was squished in between two other trucks and the patron to my right smoked the entire time. The patron to my left had his radio up loud and unfortunately his stereo was ahead of mine and the guy to my right creating a horrible echo. You also had others who had their engine on during the movie permeating the surrounding areas with gasoline. Definitely don't bring small children. The porta potty was already full before the movie even started and we were probably the first 30 to arrive. Guess they were not dumped prior to guests arriving. My poor 3yr old baby girl had to use that disgusting thing and we had to literally hover her over the outhouse. The potra pottys are also not lit. Great idea for a dark lot, I had to use the flashlight to see anything. The greeting parking attendant was nice but where he told us to park wasn't relayed to the actual guy directing the traffic so we pretty much were left to wander the lot and park where we wanted. We purchased 4 cans of soda, 3 boxes of popcorn, and a box of skittles. Came out to almost $40. We spent over $70 to watch Beetlejuice.. really? Maybe most Houstonians are impressed with this because they don't know any better, but the Showboat in Hockley blows this place out of the water and is a real drive in. Not a makeshift theatre in the middle of 5th ward pretending to be one. Id rather go to an air conditioned theatre to spend this kind of money and have clean bathrooms and better food. read more

First visit there and they were having "technical difficulties" .... Hmmm. Didn't mention that on their basic Wordpress website and no number to call when we couldn't find the venue. After planning our evening around this movie, we had to leave once we finally found the place. Furthermore, it's in a abandoned parking lot of the former KBR building. The entire area is plotted for a new large housing development. Good luck with your business. Also-You've been open long enough that this isn't just a "kink to work out". Read the other reviews. Visited m on a Thurs. We had a nice time. My first time ev at a drive in theater. So that means my hubby had not been at a d i t over 23 yrs. Purchasing tickets easy. You do online. We arrived. I guess we happen to be the first guests. We showed email. Proof of purchase. Staff directed us and told us where stuff was: concessions, restroom. "We got prime seats." Location. Obviously the wonderful thing: the comfort of our car. We bought popcorn, chips, bottled drinks and candy. We scarfed down our popcorn and wanted more, they were sold out. Good for the theater bc that is how they make their money. The service they provide: a drive in theater that I finally experienced in this middle aged woman's life. Thank you, m d t. There were some issues but they were resolved quickly. Movie did not project at 8:00 but we could hear. Sound went out later on but it was resolved. And rewound a bit. Study the website. The best and was it fastest way to reach staff was Instagram. Overall we had a nice experience. We highly recommend. We brought the dog. With covid we are in the car A LOT! restrooms clean and cool and comfortable. Staff very nice. Please go and support moonstruck drive in theater. We are going to aim to visit when food trucks are there but Thurs is a prime time for us as it is not crowded. read more

Wanted to see a new release movie but at the same time avoid the crowds...this was perfect! Screen quality was excellent and the transmission over fm radio was very clear. Food trucks offerings smelled delicious but we had already had dinner so we just enjoyed a popcorn and soda from concession stand. Rest rooms were clean. Would definitely recommend and visit again. read more

I love it here so much. My partner and I went back a couple of times. It's such a nostalgic vibe. Who doesn't love a drive in? They always play new movies and not reruns of older ones like other drive-in's. Also, their staff is very helpful when directing where to park, what station to put your radio on, and making sure everyone's headlights are turned off. I also love how you get a great view of the city directly behind where the movie is showing where the main screen is at. Love love love it here. I will keep going back! read more

Overall the experience was pleasant but not exactly what I expected. The screen is smaller than I thought and the parking situation was confusing. They also had some issues with the audio so the movie started half an hour later than planned. Lol and ironically the concessions stand did not sell popcorn. But aside from that the food they sold was good. And the experience was enjoyable. Arrive early to get a good spot and if you have a smaller car you automatically get in the front row. Bring your own snacks and pillows and blankets (it's what I did) to get comfortable and you'll have a fun time. read more

It is quite pricy, but it's more reasonable than sawyer yards. Movie experience was good. Food wasn't so great but I know they change it out every so often so maybe next time we'll try again. During the movie the audio went out which took maybe 10 minutes to fix but they were able to rewind and play the parts we missed. Picture quality is good. It was a little dark, I don't know if it was just the screen or the movie itself. Restrooms were one of those trucks with multiple stalls. It seemed clean to me. We'll be coming back here more often I think. read more

I went to watch Candyman last Friday for a date. I just want y'all to know that sh*t was trash. Not the movie but the drive-in. Movie quality sucks tremendously. I received a free pass for the movie Sylvie Love. It covered my entire Tahoe. Each person in the car received a cool cloth bag with a reusable water bottle, Yummy Cookies, 2 masks, hand sanitizer and a pen! It was all very good products. Not cheaply made. The screen showed perfect. The sound did not go out and the parking attendants were nice enough. I only see a problem if only one person wants to go to the movie alone $30 is a lot to pay since it is charged per vehicle instead of per person. Other then that its great. read more

Cool idea. But there are flaws in practice. The site is fine, although I feel like the screens are still smaller than they could be. Per the website, we didn't bring any forbidden food or drinks, expecting the promised on-site concession stand and Saturday night food trucks. But although the pop-up food offerings substituting for a food truck smelled promising, there was only one vastly overwhelmed vendor and the concession stand was a folding table selling bottled soda. We tried to eat at a bar across the street, but no food there, either. (Nice beer selection though, and they let us take a go-cup across to the movie). And the film broke partway through the first part, which I guess just happens sometimes. Pluses: reasonable price. Good location for us. Portapotties are very nice. Friendly staff. I'll try again sometime, but having fed my starving teenagers first. Tip: come 45-60 min early on a Saturday or you'll be in line to get in for quite a while. read more

I went last Friday 11/11/22 to see Wakanda forever the first kind of odd thing was that it said gates open at 6 but when we arrived at 6:05 the gates were open but there was a line to get in that didn't start to move until almost 6:50. I was 5th in line I didn't mind the wait but it was just a bit odd then we pull in and park the parking was amazing plenty of places to park, there was a food truck, and restrooms in the back of the parking lot. The thing that was very disappointing was that once the movie started the image quality on the screen was horrible! It was blurry for one and when the screen went dark due to scenes at night or under water you couldn't see anything at all! Also multiple cars had their headlights on which was a disruption trying to see the already hard to see screen. I was also in the front row so I can only image how it felt to be in the back. The image quality was pretty poor so my family gave up trying to watch the movie we eventually left after about an hour & half because we were hoping the quality would get better but it didn't. We had high hopes for the drive in but it did not live up to it. read more

This is my first drive in experience so I don't have much to compare. We got there at 7:03pm and there were already about 30 cars ahead of us but still managed to get a great spot. Everyone enjoyed their time and it was a pleasant experience except for me. The reason for only 3 stars is due to the lack of preparation of the vendors. Outside food is not permitted and they encourage you to purchase from vendors. However, the lines move very slow and the concession stand was out of popcorn before the movie even started. Then after waiting 30 minutes in line at the food truck they were out of the platters and the only thing left was noodles and egg rolls. I ordered noodles and they told me to come back in 20 minutes, and when I returned it took another 15 minutes for my order of noodles to be ready! So I missed almost half of the movie and was quite annoyed to enjoy the rest of the movie. I would recommend but I suggest you do not come there hungry! read more

I went to go see spider man no way home here. I have a couple things to say. Get there early especially if you have a small car so that you get a good parking space or else the experience will not be worth it. Listen to the movie on your radio because the volume from the theater is really low. I guess if you are seeing a movie thats colorful (like an animated movie) the experience will be worth it. But unfortunately a movie like no way home there was a lot of scenes that don't show up well on the screen and you are left in the dark to wonder what's going on. I won't be coming back I rather know what's going on in a movie I paid for. read more

My wife and I used to go to movies all the time, but her medical condition makes it unsafe for us to go to theaters. Discovering the drive-in has been a way for us to regain some small sense of normalcy. We've been twice now, and all our issues have been with the other patrons (showing up late, driving through with their lights on during the movie, etc). While the price is steep if you're going alone or only watching one movie, it's comparable to a regular theater for two people watching two movies, and incredibly cheap if you can bring a whole family. Main screen is better than the other two, but even the second (and presumably third) screen is good, though I recommend using your car's speakers rather than the lot speakers. Only suggestions I would have for the theater would be to close the gates 15 minutes or so before showtime and find a way to better police headlights so inconsiderate drivers don't ruin it for everyone. read more
