Saw Avatar at this theater. The concession area was clean and staff was friendly. Bathrooms were also clean (huge plus) and the reclining seats were cozy. The only thing that could've improved was the sound in the theater itself. At one point I caught myself needing to listen very intensely to hear, and the sound effects from the action scenes didn't feel the same with a lower level. The comfort level is good too, thanks to well-maintained temperature and ventilation. Standard movie theater snacks and drinks are available. On the downside, a significant number of the popcorn butter machines were out of order (two-thirds, to be exact), and the popcorn itself was only mediocre. While the in-theater service for drinks and snacks was excellent--personable and attentive--it was frustrating that we couldn't order our preferred butter level and had to retrieve it ourselves. A great movie theater with plenty of parking space and security in the parking late at night. There are elevator to go up to the theater if you are disable. If you buy your ticket on line, getting your tickets from the machine is fast. The concession stand was fast too on a Tuesday night. Right next to JC Penny, this theater is running all the hit movies of the season including Barbie. We came here for an Indian regional language movie , to be more specific a Punjabi language movie which is gathering many accolades back in the home country . Pretty decent like any other Cinemark theater. The screen we were allotted had plenty space between seats so every seat could be reclined without disturbing the audience infront in any manner. That made viewing very comfortable and luxurious. ( yeah.. just make sure you don't book the very first row before the screen, then its a next exercise or a place to sleep in recliner chairs, you really can't watch the movie from that seat) . The staff was very friendly even for the midnight shift and we were able to get our unlimited popcorn buckets with butter warm and nice. read more

Located on the south side of the mall in Memorial City. Located upstairs and has larger seats than other theatres in a similar price range. We came to watch Dune part 2. The hallways and theatres felt a bit old and had an odor that told me a Dyson and a deep clean would be well needed. The cinematic and sound elements were fine and the reclining chairs were a decent touch. Overall, this is a decent budget price option to watch something on the big screen but it's definitely not a luxury option like iPic. The inside is old but it's definitely an option that still favors value vs splurging. No idea on the food options here as we skipped that entirely. read more

Nothing beats a comfy recliner seat, familiar friendly employees and the cleanliness! It's always so calm in the theater and the employees hype up new upcoming movies that keep us coming back! My Cinemark experience started out a bit stressful due to a payment error in ordering online tickets. However, when I arrived and explained the problem, a manager was called and immediately took care of the situation. I was treated as if I were a VIP, and definitely felt that they went above and beyond to make up for the snafu. The theater and bathrooms were clean, the staff was courteous and professional. Are you a Cine or a saint? If you're more Cine-ful, then this is a theatre for you. This is a nice movie theatre inside the Memorial City Mall, and if it wasn't so expensive I would probably give it a higher rating. Definitely not too bad. Could be better in terms of access, because you actually have to enter the mall to get into it, so that's kind of fun in a way unless you're in a hurry. Lots of sexy people use this mall so that's nice. read more

Located inside Memorial City mall, this location warrants a tough fight for parking with the mall crowd if you come for movie during the weekend. The reclining chair is a plus, but overall interior is old and worn out with a smell of stale popcorn and dust. Compared to other movie theaters in Houston areas, their ticket for a standard showing is on the cheaper side. Reserved on app ahead of time for Barbie, with tax and fee came out only $12.5 per ticket. However during the showing, screen glitched and went total darkness for a good 2-3 mins. I just had the worst experience ever at this movie theater. The people working there were absolutely beautiful. Very polite, helpful and understanding. The problem was the kind of people that were inside the movie. My husband and I took our 3 small children, 11, 7, 3 year old to watch the Trolls. Between the tickets and the concessions, we spend about $120. Unfortunately before the movie even started a bunch of high school students came in running and screaming into the room acting a fool. I didn't want to report them because the move had not stared yet. They went on with their nonsense. They were screaming, running, jumping on the seats cursing etc. again, I let them be since the movie was not actually on yet. They even almost had a physical fight twice. Finally the movie starts, and they continue this behavior. After 20 mins into the movie my kids began hugging my arm acting very scared so my husband and I said enough, got out and asked for a supervisor. As I was walking out another family walked out too and also requested a manager. We got our money back but as we were walking one of the girls kept cursing at us, again we had 3 small children, and they even threw a large cold drink at us. I felt very unsafe. Didn't even want to go out to my car because they were even destroying the outside of the mall. They kept banging the bushes, throwing things at the window. OMG!!! It was such a horrible, horrible very much terrifying experience. Honestly this is the 2nd time this happens. The 1st time I didn't put a review, but this time I felt that it was needed. Memorial City often hosts special events at their Cinemark location, such as movie fests, showings of Ghibli movies, etc. You can find out what events they have on the memorial city website, and this helps separate it from the competition. Couldn't buy a movie ticket. Tried going to a matinee. They had two employees working one register to sell tickets. Lady in front of me was buying 15 tickets for a school group which meant tax forms etc. They would not open one of the other 9 unused registers to help me buy one ticket. This is a very nice theater located in the mall. This theater has reclining seats and they were social distancing customers in the theaters. You had to pick your seats from a chart so this can happen. They had 2 theaters playing the same movie at different times. From what I saw I think there were about 8 movie showings for this theater. The theater is very clean inside the auditorium and out. The only thing is that they needed more staff cause there was only one girl checking tickets which caused a line. Never went back here after how I was treated by the racist employees some time ago. I was the only watching this particular movie and without verifying my ticket first, the woman manager had them randomly cut off the pictures 20 minutes into the movie (the sound was still on though) One of the workers came in and told me in other words I would have to leave because they would turn off the film again. I didn't put a fight, fuss or argue with them. I chose to leave all together. There were Multiple employees standing watching me like I was a criminal as I walked down the hallway to the double doors. When I called to speak about this situation. The white guy who answered said his name was "Trayvon) (yea right) disgusting. All of this was unnecessary and I'm sure I would been treated differently if I was a different race. This movie theater is the closest theater to my house, so you can definitely say that this is my "go-to" movie theater. Cinemark has been around the Memorial area for a long time, and has made a big reputation being placed next to Memorial City Mall as well! Located on the second floor of the mall, Cinemark offers a great movie experience for all movie-goers. There's plenty of parking (since it's a mall), and the staff are nice and friendly (from the Box Office, to the Concessions, even the person who rips your ticket and tells you where your theatre is!). The movie experience is pretty nice, ever since they added those recilner seats, by pushing a button, you can have a foot/recliner extension, as you sit in a comfy chair and enjoy the movie of your choosing. They have plenty of previews/movie posters everywhere, the place is kept nice and clean, and the overall experience is great! Be sure to check out their weekly/daily specials from time and time again! I'm pretty sure they have a Movie Club Membership, an Early Bird/Matinee Special, a Senior Day Special, a Student Discount, and some other stuff as well! read more

When it comes to chain movie theaters, I prefer Cinemark compared to Edwards and AMC. Their seats are clean, new, and they recline. They have discount Tuesdays where you can see a movie for cheap. And they have a rewards program where you get points. This particular location is located inside Memorial City Mall. It's a little confusing at first because you have to walk into the mall, down a hall, pass a kid's play area, and then take the escalator to the second floor. This takes you to the box office. All-in-all, a good movie experience. read more
