I went to Concord Lumber today to pickup some hardware and I needed some paint. I went to the paint…read morecounter and stood there for 10min and nobody was around. I stuck my head outback and yelled "Hello" and got no response. I then went up to the front counter and asked if anybody was in the paint department that could help me? The guy at the main counter told me that the guy in the paint dept would be back in just a minute. I walked back over to the counter and again stood there for a minimum of ten minutes and again nobody came to help me. I again walked back to the main counter and again I politely told the same guy as before that nobody had come and that I needed help in the paint department. Again I was told that the paint dept guy would be right over because he had just stepped out back for a minute. I politely told him that he didn't just step out back for a minute because I have been standing over there for 20 minutes at this point but again I walked back to the paint counter stood there. After another 10 minutes past, I could not wait any longer and was pretty frustrated that I had been waiting for a half an hour and that nobody from the main counter did a single thing to try to locate the paint guy and they all were fully aware that I had been standing there for an excessive amount of time. I totally understand that small businesses get busy, but the store wasn't busy! I will go there again sometime in the near future and update this review because I'm hoping today was an oversight. There's no way customer should have to wait a half an hour and basically get brushed off when you asked for help!

When we bought our house in August, the former owners were planning a long term visit to Australia and had no need for a mower. For a small fee they left it behind. It was in rough shape. I can't imagine it had ever been serviced. It caught fire a few times when I used it from the oil dripping off the back of it. This can't be that same Toro Zero Turn. Mine didn't have Toro logos on it. If it did they were cover by layers of dirt. This can't be the same machine. I didn't know it was a Kohler engine. For one, it is much easier to turn and I'm concerned that you may have accidentally switched it with a much newer model. Are you sure that the motor should sound this loud? My old mower didn't have this much compression. It also left behind a strip of uncut grass in its path because the blades were so dull. This one cuts like a dream. Whatever you did to it seems to have worked. You can keep it. I'll take this new one. Thanks!

Scott and team not only know this business they are committed to serving. I've shared earlier stories and here is another. This past weekend I brought in a pair of garden shears I thought I'd lost and it turned out I left them in the garden all fall and winter. They were rusted beyond recognition and I was so embarrassed to bring them to Scott to see what was possible. Scott smiled as I showed him my buried treasure and asked if I had a few minutes to wait. With that he disappeared into his workshop with the rusted shears. Not even 10 minutes later Scott reappears with an even bigger smile. The shears are good as new and we both wish we had a before picture ( see the after picture below). So there we have it friends. Another memorable moment in my Vanderhoof Hardware journey. A few weeks after I spread the mulch on my garden a healthy crop of oat grass sprouted where I had spread the mulch. I called the store about the problem and the store representative blamed the problem on me, saying that I did not apply the product correctly. That is untrue. More importantly, the store representative refused to allow me to return the second unopened bale because I had not kept the receipt for the product. Very disappointing customer service from a store that sold a clearly defective product and refused to take any responsibility for doing so. Customers beware.
