I went to Concord Lumber today to pickup some hardware and I needed some paint. I went to the paint counter and stood there for 10min and nobody was around. I stuck my head outback and yelled "Hello" and got no response. I then went up to the front counter and asked if anybody was in the paint department that could help me? The guy at the main counter told me that the guy in the paint dept would be back in just a minute. I walked back over to the counter and again stood there for a minimum of ten minutes and again nobody came to help me. I again walked back to the main counter and again I politely told the same guy as before that nobody had come and that I needed help in the paint department. Again I was told that the paint dept guy would be right over because he had just stepped out back for a minute. I politely told him that he didn't just step out back for a minute because I have been standing over there for 20 minutes at this point but again I walked back to the paint counter stood there. After another 10 minutes past, I could not wait any longer and was pretty frustrated that I had been waiting for a half an hour and that nobody from the main counter did a single thing to try to locate the paint guy and they all were fully aware that I had been standing there for an excessive amount of time. I totally understand that small businesses get busy, but the store wasn't busy! I will go there again sometime in the near future and update this review because I'm hoping today was an oversight. There's no way customer should have to wait a half an hour and basically get brushed off when you asked for help! read more

Generally I have a fine experience. This time I left the store having worked with a salesperson who was to send me a quote for a replacement item needed soon, as painting was being done. None came. The one star rating is because there is no way to reach the store for follow up by telephone. You call that number and get two not appropriate choices (for me) and it hangs up. Very poor customer service. I also filled out the contact me on the website and have not heard anything. read more

Concord lumber is very convenient and the red oak they sell is honestly the best red oak I have seen in New England. I goto Concord Lumber on a daily basis and the service in the front is alright not the best but the yard workers in the back are the nicest and most helpful workers I have ever met. When ever I pull through the back, two yard workers come to my truck and immediately ask how my day is going. I'm in and out of the yard in less than 10 minuets. When ever I goto Home Depot and Lowe's the customer service is terrible compared to these guys. They are always on top of things, always giving their best. As for the lumber, they sell high quality products. The Red Oak, Western Red Cedar and their Mahogany products are great for DIY. In conclusion Concord Lumber has really improved over the years and made huge foot print in my business and life. read more

I bought some simple plywood from them for $180. I asked them to cut it to my dimensions to get it in the car and to save myself some time. Unfortunately I had to learn that non of the pieces had 90 degree angles all around. So basically useless for my project. The saw was extremely bad and the saw blade a disaster. The team a t concord lumber wasn't willing to help me in any form to make it right. So I would only Recommend them for some small pieces where it doesn't matter paying a significant up charge compared to other sources. For everything else you likely find a better option. read more

I've only stopped in at Concord Lumber a couple of time, and that because I believe in supporting local businesses. One expects the prices to be higher than big-box lumber & hardware stores, and Concord Lumber is predictably so. The customer service, or lack thereof, is my gripe. Each time I've gone in, I've been only one of two or three people in the story, and yet the clerks seem way too busy to help. On my last visit, I stood politely at the counter for five minutes watching as one clerk bustled about & then headed into the back while the second one shuffled paper on a desk. Another customer came in and stood beside me, and clerk #2 wandered up and helped him first. I left, since obviously they don't need my business. Maybe Concord Lumber has enough contractors to render the little people unnecessary. My advice is go to Rocky's Hardware for tools & things, or head to Lowes for lumber and construction materials. The money you save will pay for the gas, and the service will be friendlier. read more

Ok... ever walk into a library and feel like you are the loudest one in there? That's how you feel when entering. There is no music playing, not much talking... just clicking of keyboards and steps from feet. I feel like an illegal immigrant crossing over the Mexican boarder. Talk about walking on glass. Ssshhhhh is the only thought on your mind. After going here for a couple weeks, I said screw this... I tear it up in there. Im loud, I whistle, I say whats happening.... it's like getting an elderly woman to run,,, people from Concord are straight up strange.... Far from eccentric. I'm gonna go in there one day with a boom box and just start shuffling across the floor. Maybe I will form a flash mob or something... Other than that its a basic lumber yard. read more

Everyone here is very nice. They do a lot of work with contractors and "people" who are doing projects. From the paint to the lumber yard, they have helped me figure out a lot of "what I need" in addition to figuring out paint, etc. It's not the cheapest place in the world, but not the most expensive either. I love Concord Lumber. I am a homeowner and like to do projects, but I am certainly not a regular buyer or a professional contractor. If I have a problem, but don't know how to solve it, I ask CL for advice. From paint to concrete to lumber to tools, they've got it all, along with advice on how to use it. And I don't have to spend hours wandering around a big box store. Totally worth it. P.S. They fill up propane tanks and it is much less expensive than tank exchange. read more

These guys have a very convenient store and seem to have many of the essentials that keep me from going all the way over to the big box stores. One MORE THAN ONE OCCASION though I have been there and stood at the counter for more than a few minutes and floor people / counter people couldn't be bothered to ask me if I could use some assistance and continue on with whatever personal discussion they are engaged with.... so frustrating. I have walked out a few times now and they are written off. It's a shame. read more

I want to like this place, but the last time I was there I was in a hurry and didn't look closely at the piece of MDF the guy gave me. When I went to use it, I saw that it had 3 dented edges and a big water stain on the bottom. Not cool for a lot more money than the big box guys. read more
