Waited for a bit and never got help even after asking. Just left and went straight to Tip Top. Won't return.

This was one of our "wedding suit shopping" stops, and I have to say that I was less than impressed. We weren't greeted or acknowledged until we started comparing the vest we had with suits on the rack. The man who came over was friendly, if a little distant, but kept buggering off to talk to other people when there was about ten staff members on the floor, all of whom were doing a whole lot of nothing. They do have a large range of sizes, but I find the selection to be oddly limited. It may have just been this location. We were also having a hard time finding a more slim fitting suit. Everything was very boxy, and we wanted to limit alterations, if possible, to get the fit in the jacket that we were looking for. We were eventually just left to our own devices while a few older couples were serviced, and told just to bring what we wanted to the fitting room when we were done. The top choice was an okay fit with a few easily correctable problems, but the salesman started showing a little bit of disdain when we mentioned that my fiance wasn't going to be wearing dress shoes at the wedding (he and his best man are wearing converse). It came up when he wanted to mark the pants for hemming, and after that, the friendliness level went to zero. He must have intolerance for what he considers to be "hipster" types. Luckily for us, we went with our first choice and got a nicer suit of better quality and better fit elsewhere... for a better price (and it didn't even have to be on sale for half off). read more

My boyfriend and my father both needed suits for an upcoming wedding so we all headed over to Moores. I'll add that it's my sister's wedding, so it's a bigger deal for my dad that all goes well. On the first visit when we purchased the two suits, dress shirts and ties, the manager assisting us was fine albeit a bit abrupt and grumpy. But we thought whatever, as long as he gets what he promises done, it doesn't matter if he isn't the friendliest person ever. Sadly, he proved to be unreliable and incapable as well. My father found a dress shirt that was the perfect match for his suit but seeing as they didn't have his size, the manager assured us he would be picking it up from another location at the end of the day. No problem. We'd be away until next week and pick it up then along with the suits which needed alterations. However, that's when the issues started. When we came for the suits & dress shirt, the manager could not find the shirt. He claimed that somehow someone switched the shirt he had been saving for us and they no longer had it, and that the tag was not in his writing, and so on (basically passing the blame onto one of his employees). Okay, mistakes happen. We asked him to check online for the shirt at another location, and he found one in Calgary and said he'd order it and that it'd arrive the following Monday and he'd give us a call. We never got a phone call, so we went in on Tuesday to pick it up and were told the wrong shirt had been sent. He was full of contradictory and ever-changing excuses, so much so that we had to wonder whether he ever even placed the order to begin with. So now my dad doesn't have his dress shirt, and the manager essentially shrugs his shoulder, like oh well. We understand mistakes happen, but this occurred over the course of two weeks which would have given us plenty of time to find another shirt had we not been misled into thinking Moores had it under control. What is most bothersome is that the manager "helping" us never bothered to call or update us regarding the shirt, and when confronted with the mistakes he seemed completely indifferent and apathetic. My boyfriend also commented on the fact that he went in there to try on his suit after alterations and the manager said he'd be over with him shortly yet never came. Not the worst thing ever, just icing on the rotten cake. Clearly, once the sale is done, this manager couldn't care less. We won't be back. read more

I do agree partly with Mike W.'s review - yes, the fact that they have larger sizes definitely made it easier for our groomsmen of various sizes to find a suit. I completely disagree about the helpful part. I have been in there four times and my fiance twice over the last few months. Every time we've been in there, we've never talked to the same person twice. The "help" we received was minimal, and it felt like they just hired an individual to work the floor without any training on how to answer basic suit questions. We were also never acknowledged as we came in through the door - a staff member would look directly at us and then continue doing as they were before. Not even a "hi." And if you need help, you're definitely going to end up standing around and waiting for a while. But the ultimate reason they are getting a low review from me, however, is that we received no explanation why one of our groomsman had his suit order cancelled before the wedding (which is in 5 days btw), and found out this when he went to pick it up. I called and asked directly - what happened? and got no answer, and not even an apology about the mix-up. The lady I spoke to on the phone mentioned the manager put in an order for the suit to be flown in immediately and it is guaranteed to arrive in 3 days. We shall see now what happens. Instead of feeling comforted by their experience and knowledge, and secure in their capabilities as professionals, we found ourselves feeling the reverse. Left with anxiety and confusion. Never again. Day After Wedding: So the suit ended up arriving two days before wedding thankfully. But as I said before, and for the reasons above, never again. read more

Went in to arrange suit rentals for my wedding. The lady helping us was friendly and knowledgeable, but told us that all tuxedo rentals were the same price - around $270, regardless of the style, options, accessories. Don't fall for this. Actual prices start at around $100, we found we were being charged for the all-in rate on their most expensive suits even if we'd picked the cheapest option. If I were to give a piece of advice regarding Moores' next day return policy: Lie about when your event is (if it's on Saturday, tell them it's on Sunday). You should be able to pick up your monkey-suit a week before the so-called event date, wear it the day of, relax a day, and return it the day after your fictional event date. They do not inspire me to be a repeat customer and I would recommend that others stay away from Moores' as well. read more

Our experience with the Moore's team was a bit up and down. The staff were extremely helpful, however things on their technical and ordering side were subpar. The staff were really friendly and helped fix everything that was messed up on the head office end. For some reason our wedding kept coming up as being for the week before the actual date, despite being changed a couple of times by their staff. Not a huge deal since we got everything on time but it just caused some ongoing unnecessary anxiety weeks before the wedding, that I think any bride to be would have felt. When everything came in, only half of the rentals ordered were the sizes they were supposed to be. I understand arm and leg lengths being off a bit because general sizes are ordered, but when the actual size (S, M, L, XL) was dead off, it's kind of annoying. No need to be making trips back and forth that much. Anyways, everything was beautiful on the guys who were wearing the rentals and we are really grateful for everyone's help, especially Emily who was there at any time of day to answer any questions I had and even let me email her. Went into Moores to buy a suit and found them to very helpful and knowledgeable. They promptly attended to me and gave me good service. I rarely buy a suit and the one I had at home was probably 15 years old and getting a little small.(maybe I was getting a little big) Not a lot of experience buying a suit. Walked in and the Sales Person( Iryna) showed me two suits and gave me her advice on which looked best on me. She actually chose a suit that was less expensive and money had been of no great concern to me. I also needed a shirt, tie, and socks and showed me different combinations and offered her opinions. I initially came in here for a run of the mill black business suit, it turned out to be quite the ordeal. I went in and was not greeted, they looked at me and I stood there awkwardly until someone finally came over, I was eventually hot potatoe'd to Nikki. Nikki was the only positive staff experience I had in this store. I chose my black suit went to pick it up, I could not get these pants to fit properly. I went to moores for they're so called expertise in sizing and tailoring, and i'm a fairly average sized young man i'm not large by any means. I returned with the suit to get it tailored, again, no one at the front desk, waiting there while they stared at me for two mins. Finally someone came over, he was the manager, was not helpful at all, I told him the suit pants didn't fit, weren't tailored or fitted right, and his service went downhill from there. He wasn't to eager to help get it fixed he said he would get it fixed because I spent 900 dollars there, I didn't realize you had to exceed a certain dollar amount to get service, what a joke. So i come back the next day as he told me too, to pick up the suit. I wait again for the staff, who again were crowded around the back doing sweet nothing staring at you, not a soul at the front. Where they tell me they forgot to fix my suit, no problem came back the next day suit pants are still off big time. At this point i've been in the store three times with nothing but disappointment, I had already been forced to wear another suit at the event I needed the black suit for in the first place, and was sick of their shit service. I was told there were suits that might fit in South side or red deer. Go to hell, I know when your trying to pawn me off why you wouldn't want my business is beyond me, I was very polite and dumped almost a grand at your store. I got a charcoal suit that fit perfect the same day I went for the black suit. I don't understand whats so hard about finding me a suit that fits when I know your perfectly able too, just unwilling apparently. I got my money back for the suit after informing them I was going to Ontario, but that was a struggle. I even offered to take store credit instead of a refund so I could come back when I was home again, and the kid offered me 30 dollars in exchange for the suit. Wow. Brand new never been worn, you guys screwed up, 30 bucks. When this didn't fly and they couldn't pass a lesser suit on to me, they finally gave my money back. I will not be shopping here again, I don't appreciate pompous staff that treat you like you don't belong, and will try to dump anything on you to get you out, over spending the time to help you look your best. read more
