This shop is awesome, they had my heads pressure tested and machined super quick, for a good price. Dropped them off on a Monday and they had them done by Wednesday. Rich was super knowledgeable and obviously very experienced with any type of engine. Rich is the man. I'm restoring a golf cart and needed to rebuild the rear axle. Rich was more than patient holding various parts while I searched vintage golf parts for weeks. He recommended additional seals that I would have never noticed that were toast. Honest, reliable, clean and excellent quality! Had a broken header bolt in my aluminum head.....long story short I couldn't get it, broke off multiple bits and finally an EZ out! Off center and everything! They were able to get it out without installing a helicoil. Great job and clean work. Very fair price as well - put it this way....I spent more on broken drill bits and EZ outs than it cost me to bring it here for a true professional to do it the right way. I also want to add that I live in Rocklin and tried contacting all local shops but nobody understood what I was talking about....expanded my search and found this place, quick phone call and he knew his stuff - done deal. Excellent customer service. Very knowledgeable and genuinely good people. I don't know too much about cars but I'm trying to learn. I brought in some heads to be resurfaced and they walked me through everything that needed to be done. They vacuum tested the valves saving me money when they were found to be good. I've been dealing with the big name machine shop here in Grass Valley. Pretty clear they aren't too interested in dealing with the general public and focus on automotive shops. I got tired of being treated poorly... (not unprofessionally, just not very enthusiastically.) I looked around for another machine shop to surface a head and came across Moore's in Auburn.Totally different experience. I asked what the turnaround time for a head surface would be... 2 hours! Not two to three days. I took it down late and it was finished by 10 the next day as promised. And, instead of 'we'll do a vacuum test tomorrow", the owner took me into the back and performed the test on the spot. It's definitely worth the 30 minute drive to this shop for such professionalism and customer service. This is where I get my machine work down now. read more
